Don't waste your money. Needs a lot of work.

This is probably the worst game I have ever bought. I sold my copy the day after I bought it. I can't say much else other than that the game is flat out bad. The view behind the quarterback is so close that it is hard to see anything going on. The controls are very strange and you can't change them. Why should R1 be the run button. The game basically completely wipes out any sort of running game, so all you can do is pass the ball. Even on the harder levels, it is very easy to get your receivers open and score touchdowns. There is not much challenge to this game and it is boring all the way through. For those of you that are thinking of buying this game because of the cool hits....don't bother. The hits look almost nothing like any of the hits in the trailers for the game. They happen way too fast and unrealistically. The frame rate of the game just makes everything lok like crap. On top of all this there are only three modes to play, one of which is practice mode and the franchise is almost non-existant. So, basically.....don't buy this game.

And to anyone that read the review before mine. This will not give you an appreication of the AFL, it will make you hate it. Long live Madden. Who needs the AFL when you have the NFL anyway.

Game is very fun if you are a fan of the AFL. Just like watching a game at home. Makes the real game seem more violent than it really is.

Worst Game I have ever played. Period. Felt like i was playing Madden 1998 the only thing that was missing was Eddie George. Horrible. Don't waste your time.

Very poor effort by EA sports

This game looks cool and had potential. The graphics look like Super Nintendo quality. Every single pass is a completion, whether you throw it 5 yards or 50 yards. Every now and then there will be an interception, the ball NEVER hits the ground. It all comes down to who has the ball last. Really not what I expected, this game is nothing special, and there is a reason its only $30.

It is a great game but, It can lock up on you. I am in the process of getting it exchanged for one that does not lock up.

If you are a fan of Arena Football or just like football video games, this is at least a must try, if not must own. I only have a couple of minor complaints. First, there is not commentary during the games. There's not much excuse for this and it makes the game seem just a bit amateurish (I remember Joe Montana Sports Talk Football on the Sega Genesis.) On the other hand, commentary just adds flavor and I usually turn the sound low and play my own music anyway.

Second, the franchise and create-a-team modes are kind of weak. This is kind of expected in such a new franchise (not to mention the fact that it was the first AFL game).

I look at this game as a great beginning. I'm assuming that EA didn't want to invest too much time and money into a new game w/o testing the market. This game is always sold out and a new version is due out in Feb., 2007, so I know we can expect to see more.

I can't wait for the day that I stick in my AFL on PS3 and hear Mike & Mike calling the game!

4 1/2 Fun and 4 1/2 Overall!

AWESOME!

Arena Football is THE best game if you like fast paced, hard hitting football. It is almost impossible to not get a jack-up hit on somebody. The passing is quick and fast, too. Granted, the graphics are a little iffy, and if you play Madden or NCAA Football all the time, it'll take some time to get used to the controls and gameplay, but once you learn the game, I'm sure that this game will be a hit.
