Yo mlb 06 the show is way bettter!!!

I own mlb 06 the show and i have to tell you that its way better than mlb 2k6. Mlb 2k6's graphics are horrible!! Curt shilling has a mustache! The rosters are not as updated as mlb 06 the show like coco crsip is still on the indians its a shame that mlb 2k6 came after mlb 06 the show so you would except the rosters to be more updated but there not. the swing is way to complex its like press that do that etc just to swing! theres pretty cool cheats but who cares about that. The gameplay is very werid and its impossible to hit a homerun. The pictching is horrible its very hard to spot your pictch. It dons't feel like your really there when your playing the game, mlb 06 the show you really think that your there. It has a normal franchise but mlb 06 has the carrerr mode which is awsome! stealing is prttty hard. I'm a gamer so i really know what games are good and what that are not so good like mlb 2k6. I rented for 4 bucks and i got to say that i ripped off myself. If you really want a solid and realstic baseball game i totaly reccomnad mlb 06 the show.

i did'nt think it was possible to make a game worst than MLB 06 ''the show'' but they did. EA sports please come back and make the game fun again, MLB 2K6 is a complete joke, the graphics are horrible and the game play is sluggish. do not waste your money on either, these games were thrown together because the systems ( platstation 2 ) and (x-box) are on their way out..........

Tooo many DOUBLE PLAYS!!!

Have has this game when first come out all and all it's a good game to play but seems getting the lead off man on is all not 9 ins in the game and 6 to 7 of them is ended with a double play ( more than that if playing the Oak As) Have read all the reviews on this game and to a point i agree with most of them but not all the way you can have fun playing this game it's just a matter of taking the time to learn the controlers I won't sit here and say YES this a must have game and I won't sit here and say don't waste your money or time I went out and bought it when first come out so I payed 40 for it if had payed half that I'd be much happer so if can buy for 20 25 I say yes it's worth it but I'd not advise to go buy new for 40... And have had alot say it freezes I'm taking the Tex Rangers through a season and so far it hasn't froze on me yet not saying it didn't freeze on the other people just saying it hasn't on me to this point. I do think 6 to 8 double plays a game are unreal but all and all it's a fun game...

Some people are STUPID!!!!!!!!!

MLB 2K6 is worse graphics than before but the gameplay is much better. It's not fun at first when you don't know how to play it but it gets better when you learn. You can turn the stupid swing stick off if you want to I did it's way to hard with it on. Barry Bonds isn't on it and he's my favorite player. Even though most people don't like him I do. A lot of new guys are on the game like Ryan Langerhans, Pete Orr, and Jeff Francour. The general manager mode is way better than last years. They have the classic mode home run derby on this one. I like it a lot better. They have a lot of codes like last year and some of the older stadiums are already unlocked like polo grounds. In general manager mode you can take your team bowling, on a 2K6 tour, make fun of thier moms, and lots more. I didn't try franchise mode yet but its probably pretty cool. All of the players ratings are right. I didn't get MLB 06 THE SHOW yet but I'm sure MLB2K6 is much better so get it instead. So don't be stupid and just say no to MLB 06 THE SHOW because this has to be better.

I want my money back

Before I wrote this review i scanned through the other reviews to see what people thought. Some of the things i would agree with, and other things i thought people just didnt take the time to learn.

Pros: The pitching is actually pretty decent, at first i was throwing a lot of wild pitches, but i figured it out pretty easily. The graphics were pretty good, and the even had the managers name on the back and correct jersey, unlike MLB 2006 which had the 1st and 3rd base coach, and manager with no name on the back and "00" as a number. I am a Rockies fan and Clint Hurdle actually had a soul patch on his chin!!! I don't understand some people saying to many home runs, cause it was pretty hard to get a home run every once in a while.

Cons: The announcers!!! The local Sports radio station was giving the game out to the 9th caller for about 2 weeks, and the hyped it as that they gave statistics for every pitch, every hit from the last three years, but when Todd Helton would come to the plate, he didnt have any home runs or RBI's last season, so they screwed that up. The fielding is pretty bad to, a slow chopper to third with a runner on first, and 1 out, press triangle and square and the 3rd basemen looks at the ball for a couple of seconds like he's never seen what a baseball looks like in his life and the throws to secound, and there is no throw to first!!!! I had a couple of time where My outfielders Looked like they where in little league and could not handle a simple pop up and allowed an inside the park homer.

Overall i would have given it a 4 stars for each if not for all the cons

It's pretty good, but also pretty bad.

Ya know there's some good and there's some bad.

Cons:
*You know when you hit a double in the gap or down the line, it recosheds right back to the fielders, so its hard to go for 2 or even 3 bases unless he has a slow delivery.
*The Swing stick just sucks.
*When the fielders get the ball in right field very deep, and you are on third, you try to get home, but the outfielders have like super arms and it gets to the base very fast nomatter how far out you are.
*When they hit a groundball in the infield, you'd expect your infielders to charge the ball right? Wrong. They sit back and wait until the ball gets to them. If it's a fast runner, they have a great chance of getting an infield single on such a routine play.
*The infielders react like they are stuck in the dirt.

Pros:
*Player finder helps players you are looking for and is a great source.
*Home Run Derby's are fun. They give you 4 choices, Classic, Tag Team, Team(Have to unlock), and a game where you can call your shots.
*They have different kind of season modes like, a regular season, Franchise, and GM Career.
*The commentary is better than normal games with Jon Miller and Joe Morgan.
*Legend mode gives you a great challenge by the pitching being more difficult, and the hitting also (be careful with pitch selection and location).

I'm going to stick with MVP

2 Rating: 2, Useful: 0 / 0

And so should you if you have it.

This game is missing a lot of elements I enjoyed in MVP. There is no way to see what pitches you have seen from a pitcher in previous at-bats, and its the same on the defensive side.

The Stamina rankings are different for MVP fans. I used to go until about 40-50% with starters, on this game, I go for 20-30%, since it seems like fatigue never bothers them like it did in MVP.

Also, Fielding grounders is a joke. On two plays in a row, I tried to field and throw to home. The guy just stood there until I pressed the first base button, then He throws to first. Classy. I gave up on dives, the game reacts too slow to be effective.

The Auto-Round feature is a gift to you. I have thrown out 5 runners now just by waiting for them to round the base, then throwing. You have to stay on your toes on offense though, I always pound R1 once the runner crosses first.

I like BaseBurner mode, but the CPU's fielders are a little slow. I took 3 addtional steps off 1st, the pitcher threw to the 1st baseman, and he stood there with the ball while I stood 5 steps from him. It was pretty Funny.

Swing Stick is something else I like, it takes some getting used to, and I wish I could aim my swing, because Batter's Eye is not enough.

Another Problem, on Manager mode, as the mets I bought the inside edge report for the Nats "entire team". First game, I have a report on the leadoff hitter, the 2nd hitter - no report. Uhh, what does "entire team" mean? apparently not entire team.

Pitching takes you reading the manual. Twice. Basically hold the button until the circle is big, let go, then press it when the circle is really small. You should stop throwing wild pitches all the time.

Because of this, I miss the pitching mini game from MVP, but what can you do?

So, I would reccommend continue playing MVP, unless you really have to have updated rosters that are stupid. Pujols and Mauer should start with a hitters eye as big as the strike zone, since that is how they are hitting, but they don't. They have the same area as everyone else.

And every player looks the same in the field. This is awesome.

Oh wait, It's not.

Hands down the worst video game I've ever purchased

I don't even know where to begin with this game. The manual for it is absolutely awful, the main screen user interface is a joke, fielding is a nightmare, the pitcher will throw the ball into the stands even if you simply punch the corresponding button, to speak nothing of setting the breakpoint on the pitch. This is prime example of a company that is trying to set it's self apart by trying different controls, and they succeed in never getting another cent from me ever. I guess I'm just out the money. Don't ever buy games from 2K.

This game sucks!

The graphics are horrible! The faces of the players are smushed on their bodies to make it look like they just got ran over by a truck! The pitching is very confusing to figure out. It all depends on when you release the ball when the yellow circle is a certain size. It's so stupid. I got MLB O6 :The Show and let me tell ya, the graphics are awesome and everything is much better. Save yourself from buying another crappy 2K baseball game and get SONY'S game. MLB 06: The Show. You'll thank me later.
