I read some of the reviews and agree that the music could have been better. Some of the levels are extremely difficult (in my opinion). But they are doable.

Star Trek Naval Fun

Single player isn't fun. Very little fighting and a lot of ship following.
What does make this game worth while is the multiplayer modes.
Whether against friends or computeres, if you want a starship slug fest its worth the 20.
There is also a code to unlock all ships, which was a life saver because I did not want to work my way through the single player to unlock them all.

The worst Star Trek game created to date

So I owned this game for a few days and I returned it to the store because I disliked it so much. The in-game play is terrible and it does not give you the feel of controlling the ship and the challenges is too hard to complete and Star Trek 25th Anniversary (1980)-ISH was a better game than this one.

Good, but hard

The initial missions are prettty hard, but once you get past them, they are pretty fun. Shatner's narration is a nice touch. It's good that they included all trek eras and numerous ships from each era. The controls take some getting used to but they work well once you do. Traveling through rings and warp conduits sucks. I found the Romulan ships the toughest. Each ship has its own different feel. Unfortunately though, many missions are tedious rather than challenging. But overall, the game is enjoyable and worthwhile.

Way better than Star Trek Invasion, but I found it repetitive and weapons and control were goofy. Good for kids though, with lots of different ship types in it.

Controls a bit tricky

I like that the game includes all the incarnations of the Star Trek series and it is fun to play, but the controls seemed a bit complicated. I felt like I needed two extra fingers on each hand in order to lock weapons onto a target while running the engines and flying the ship. The overly complicated controls make it harder to progress and unlock my favorite Star Trek series.

Star Trek Encounters
I didn't get a chance to play it much but it seems challenging enough and the shipping didn't take to long

'Conquest', with an inferior interface

Want a starship combat game with decent player interface and strategic element for your Playstation 2/3?

Well don't look here, as 'Encounters' is merely a dress rehearsal for 'Conquest'. 'Star Trek: Conquest' features much of the same arcade-style action, but without the silly 'player qualifying'. I paid my $8 to blast the bad guys, not fly through hoops.

Bottom line: Skip 'Encounters' in favor of 'Conquest'

Good game. Fun. Although I am stuck already trying to follow Zindi warp trails.

I bought this game when it came out and have yet to see what the actual story mode game is like. The reason is that I can not for the life of me get past the first level with the rings! I have tried several times and have given myself carpal tunnel syndrome trying to get past it. Even my brother and his girlfriend took several turns to beat it.

You have to fly the ship through the rings and you are timed, and I never beat it. I feel like such a video game loser! Does anyone know any kind of cheat code for this?
