Not a dull moment!

I've had few enjoyable online gaming experiences - until now. UT is simple to connect with, and the six types of games keep things interesting. Plus, just when you get tired of the same maps, you autodownload a new map you've never seen before and keep going. The online game tracking service provides both your statistics and detailed stats of particular games. If, for some reason, you don't have a quick Internet connection, the standalone Tournament is a blast, for a little while.

One of the best for Macintosh

The definitive online gaming experience, for both PC and Macintosh. The single player game is excellent with fairly intelligent 'bots. The biggest drawback is the built-in network game browser, which is sometimes slow (since it often returns 1000+ games), and does not offer filters to narrow down the immense amount of choices offered. The graphics and sound are absolutely awesome.

If you are comparing this to Quake 3, then take note that the level design in UT is much better, and this keeps the game very interesting. Q3 levels seem cramped in comparison. This game totally surprised me at how addictive it is.

One of the best games EVER!

This game has the most creative weapons, gameplay, and online play ever. The only bad things are you're gonna need a MEAN machine to play this game. I recommend 128 megs 'o RAM (minimum!) and at least a Voodoo 2 card or one of the newer ATI cards, not the . . . one that came in your iMac or with your B+W tower.

I've used both Unreal Tournament and Quake 3 Arena extensively, and Unreal Tournament definitely comes out on top. In my experience, Unreal Tournament gets much higher framerates, yet has far more beautiful graphics than Quake 3 Arena could ever hope to achieve, even on the highest settings (I've tried). With an extensive array of 3rd party addons available online ..., Unreal Tournament's gameplay is endless.

Perfect in every way

Another multiplayer FPS, UT offers modes ranging from f-f-a blast fests to team based combat missions. This game has something for everyone, including tutorial levels for those just starting out. Excellent graphics and top-notch production value round-out this gem, but it is definitley not for the under 12 group. this game has a whopping 50 levels and 4 ways to play:Deathmatch,(my personal favorite)Assault,Domination, and Capture-the-Flag.It is backed by aweb site that hosts a bevy of online tournaments (hence the name,DUH!!)and offers patches, tips, and chat with other gamers. If you haven't played it yet I sugggest you try it and kiss that thing you used to have called a social life good-bye.
