I've not found a better game.

If you dont want to take the time aside to read the books(which you should) get the game. It covers most of the book and adds more. For example Mr. Poe, the gulible banker who is in charge of finding guardians for them, does so in the game but at each place he leads the baudelairs their adventure is atleast a little bit different.

This game looks so cool.
i want to get this game for playstation2,
(also avalable for xbox and gamecube)
gameboy advance and the PC

ps. i saw on the commercial for this game, if you read the fine print that the gameplay for PC version is different from the gameplay of the gamecube playstation2 and xbox versions

same thing with the gameboy advance version, the gameplay is different

since the books are real GOOD ibet the movie and game will be good

   this gfame is so good. i like this game because it was onsale so i can dave 4$ and the game is like this one good book i read a series of unfotrunat events only diffrent. buy it now its good!1

A Unique Adventure Game!!!!

This unusual game is fun and satisfying. I absolutely love it! The atmosphere is Victorian and mysterious, the graphics are excellent, and the levels are fun and challenging. You go from place to place playing as the three Baudelaire siblings. There are many obstacles throughout it. Often, Violet will come up with a bizarre device to get you through these. You then must collect a number of household objects to build it.
These inventions are pretty cool. The two you use the most are the Lobber and the Smasher. The Lobber chucks various items at enemies to stun them. Once they are stunned, you must hit them with the Smasher, a boot attached to a jack in the box. Other inventions include the Lockpick, Sprayer, and Lever Yanker.
The missions are fun and exciting. Through the game, you must uncover a secret passage to go to Justice Strauss's library, spray mosquitoes with Eau de Toilette perfume, capture escaped reptiles, wade through leech infested pools with Violet's stilts, and climb Olaf's tower with a grappling hook. You'll absolutely love this incredible game!

Fun, Challenging, but a little confusing

This is a fun and challenging game but can also be a litlle confusing.
This game keeps you on the edge of your seat when you have to jump or run from place to place to get things! It is also a little challenging to stay going in a stait direction when you first start to play it but you get used to it! Also when I was playing it was a little confusing what to do after I reached level 2 because the characters were just kind of walking around on the screen and I didn't know what to do!
But after I figured out what to do it got really exciting! Hope if you buy it you will like it too!

Good Game - But Wish There Were More Challenges...

Yeah, the game is based on the movie. All the challenges were challenging but not much related to the movie, so all of you video game players who think if you know the movie, you can beat the game in a zip, geuss again because it's more challenging then that because they "expanded" what they could do from the movie and makes it more challenging. You first start with Count Olaf's house, going through Uncle Monte's Reptile Room, then so forth...the ending its hard, but that's what makes the game challenging. This game should be longer, cause it's fun.

A sweet little game with a decidedly off-center sensibility, just like the bizarre books it's based on. If you're familiar with the books, you'll know what to expect; if you're not, perhaps you'd better read one or two first to get an idea of what's coming.

Game play consists of directing the Beaudelaire children around various locations trying to survive their greedy "uncle." The game is divided into problem-solving sections and fighting sections; the former is mostly brain work, though there's some rather annoying jumping in places, and the fighting is mostly hand-eye coordination, though a little strategy is required to survive. (Fighting in this case means squirting mosquitoes with eau de cologne and throwing bags of horseradish at evildoers. There's no blood involved.) All the voices are done by the actors from the movie, most notably Tim Curry and Jim Carrey, what a team-up! Graphics are good enough. I had no difficulty loading or running the game on my 3-year-old machine with Windows ME.

The game as a whole is a lovely fun quirky thing; it might be a bit too complicated for kids under about 10, and it might be a bit bland for kids over about 16. Oh, and it includes a free child's admission to the movie, good till the end of the year (2004). Lovely!

Considering what a disappointment I found a movie to be, the fun of this game makes up for it.
In A Series of Unfortunate Events, you play as the three Baudelaire orphans. You must jump, attack, and discover your way through the 'Lemony Snicket world', avoiding the horrible Count Olaf.
The neat thing about this game was that how you got through the game didn't rely on how quick your fingers hit the keys, but how quick you can discover the little things that depend on weather you advance in the game or not. It got annoying at times, but I managed to work through it. The downside of the game is that 80% of the time you're looking for invention particles--nothing much else.
Overall, this is a very good game, but you'll enjoy it more if you've read and enjoyed the books.
