Still Fun After 2 Years..

I've had Tekken 3 for two years now and I still love playing it, mainly because it is one of the best PS1 fighters ever made.

Reasons why this is a great game are simple:

There are tons of great characters from Yoshimitsu, the ever cute dragon Gon, the sexy schoolgirl Ling Xiaoyu, and over a dozen more. The wonderful part is they all have their own unique fighting styles which keeps the action from getting dull.

With mulitple game modes this also adds to Tekkens variety and level of fun. Tekken Force mode puts the characters into a side scrolling action game. Although, my fave is Tekken Ball which is a wierd mix of fighting and volleyball. I know what you're thinking, but trust me, it's fun.

The game is a little hard at first, but give it a week or so and you will get it down pact.

With all the unlockable characters, modes and costumes, it will keep you entertained for weeks to come. That and being one of the most comprehensive fighters out there makes it a must have.

GREAT, EXELLENT,,SUPERB!

Great Game. THis game made me so unboard during the summer of 2001! THe graphics are O.K. but TEkken 4 is going to be better. THis game is you are trying to be the winner of the Iron Fist Tournament 3 or something like that. Great Game overall

Good translation

This game has one of the better translation from arcade to video game. The graphics and even the sounds are similar, down to the finest detail. The only bad thing: you must get a good joystick to play the game -- otherwise, the controls are very tricky at best. The hidden levels and characters are pretty cool. However, with the release of Tekken 4 and its new mode of fighting, Tekken 3 may become primitive and outdated. All in all, still an excellent game and excellent hidden levels and characters.

The Tekken Ball mode being one of my favorites -- especially with me and one of my friends. Tekken Force mode is also not too bad -- although the movement (such as sidestepping and turning) are EXTREMELY tricky and fickle. You have to manage both well to win the game.

I don't usually get into fighting games, but . . .

This is one kick-[butt] game. I mean it. Literally. About two dozen characters, multiple difficulty levels, a couple of interesting games, this is one super-cool game.

The graphics are great and the fight moves flow so prettily it's almost scary. The characters are all interesting to use, at the very least, and there's something for everyone from an enormous, slow-moving bear to the lightning-quick but tiny Xiou Yu.

My only beef is with the Tekken Ball stage and the side-stepping. Tekken Ball is just silly. It does nothing for your characters, it's decidedly simple, it's . . . well, it's a little kid's game stuck in the middle of a rather bloody 3D fighter. It just doesn't seem to fit with everything else.

The side-stepping is almost ludicrously difficult. You have to tap the controller so lightly that taking a few simple steps to the side becomes impossible. I realize that, logistically, it would be difficult to find another way, but it does hamper your stride, particularly in the Tekken Force stage.

A great game, though.

It all starts here, well, it was here where i truly fell in love with Tekken. I love T2, but, T3 was ..."holy cow" moves and graphics. For those that are starting with Tekken..this game should be your first.

OK, I am going to start off by saying, as you might have guessed from the title, I've played this BRILLIANT game in the ARCADE, not on the Playstation. But then again, who cares?! It's the same game and it's equally fun! This is among the best fighting games I've ever played. I love it, I love it, I love it. So many cool characters are in this game, including nearly all of my top 10 favorite heroes and villains, as well as the best(and only)neutral fighter here, Yoshimitsu. Anyway, here it goes. This game is about trying to protect the world from a soul eating ogre. On to the pros and cons.

Pros

The fighters are wonderfully made & if you know how to use them, real ass kickers

My favorite Tekken hero(King, half jaguar, half man, all wrestler)favorite Tekken neutrality(Yoshimitsu, half machine, half man, all warrior)and favorite Tekken villain (Nina Williams, half hottie, half scorned woman, all assassin)are featured here. Yep, you got it. The top 3 coolest fighters(in my opinion)all get a great role in this game

You can see bursts of energy and blood coming out whenever you hit your opponent

The sound effects, music and noises the characters make are damn near perfect

The graphics, while I'd prefer them 3-D not 2-D, are still very good for a game that was made in the 1990s and I would never want them taken away for that reason

There are a lot of other great fighters too, such as Gun Jack(he's really powerful and his only weakness is not being too fast)and there are fighters even better than he, such as Jin Kazama and Paul Phoenix(who by the way are both AMONG my favorites, they rock so much!)and Hwoarang, who's not as good as Gun Jack but still rocks big

The final boss, Ogre/True Ogre(I count him as two villains)looks to be very powerful and very difficult to defeat, but there's a special trick to defeat him as though you were teaching a tired cat to yawn: You just gotta play as King and kick the s*** out of him. Trust me, I've done it twice. You fight Ogre as King, he's got no hope. Period

There is a very cool gold and lightning backround surrounding the red sign that will say "You are the champion" if you win the game. Not to mention the credits will give you a free replay of your victories against your opponents & how you defeated them

Finally, for the last pro, other cool characters than the ones mentioned are here(they are not as cool as King, Yoshimitsu, Nina, Jin, Bryan Fury, who's also here, Paul, Gun Jack, Heihachi Mishima, the second to last boss, Hwoarang, Kazuya Mishima, here without first mention, or Lei Wulong, who also is here without the first mention, but they still really, really rock and I love them all) They include Anna Willaims, a great villain who not only is better than Ogre but also Nina's sister, Julia Chang, a good looking woman and a skilled fighter, but she really has got to do something about her hair, Eddy Gordo, a really cool 50-Cent like hero who dresses in yellow & green, Forest Law, brother of the awesome Marshall Law who he's just as fast & skilled as, Kuma, a cool looking grizzly bear fighter who really knows how to bring down the house(literally)and Panda, her brother is Kuma and she is cute if not a little bit of a softie. Oh well, she's a pretty decent fighter if you know how to use her. Nuff said

Cons

The only con is that so far there is only one Tekken game better than this one-the fabulous Tekken 4. Don't know how I'll judge Tekken 5, but whatever. This game is absolutely flawless and for now only the Tekken 4 coming after it is better. Period

All in all, this is a game you must have if you like Tekken or if you just plain like to play cool beat-em-up games. I recommend this to all people with one or both of those traits. P.S. The only beat-em-up game better than Tekken is Mortal Kombat. My name is Alex K "Catman" (for my love of lions, tigers, jaguars and all other cool animals, cats or otherwise)Have a nice day. And if you got the money, buy the game.
