More Frustration Than its Worth

2 Rating: 2, Useful: 2 / 4

This is a big disappointment, the controls are horrible so the Omega is hard to handle. The screen keeps you moving forward so if you miss something or an enemy you can't get them and you have to shoot the enemy off screen. They had the perfect control setting with Sarges Hero's I and II. I agree with everyone else, rent this game first-don't buy it.

worst game ever

I have played the Army Men games before and I have always felt that they were between mediocre and good. The control is always a bit slipery but the gameplay is simple and fun. Plus the novelty of playing as little green army men is clever and fun. But after playing through a couple of levels of Green Rogue, I was astounded. How could something that is this bad be allowed to be released.
Let me start with the most obvious flaw and that is that the game constantly pushes you along. You have no control over the speed of your movement, you have to always run no matter what you have missed. Sometimes a health or a weapon pick-up will appear with no chance of ever getting picked up. It is almost like the game scoffs at you as it scrolls and pushes you past objectives not yet completed.
Another big dissapointmet is the weapons. All of the wepaons must be upgraded to be effective at all and 2 or 3 aren't effective in the least. This is due to the terribly jerky control on the aiming feature. You can never really tell where you are aiming and since the game is constantly pushing you into enemy gunfire you do not have a whole lot of chance to find your aim. The game requires the use of both analog sticks (one for movement and one for aiming) and one would think that this would mean that the control was tight but that is not the case.
Add to that a bunch of dull landscapes, a constant requirement to follow a specific track, and tons of eventless moments strung together and you have got the game that is Green Rogue.
Any one who I have talked to about it has just laughed about how bad it is. To me the feeling is just disbelief. Don't people have to play these games before they are released to the general public? Don't they have any sense? Well I guess Green Rogue is my answer.

the game is ok i think. the graphics are good but notin to get hyped up about. the storyline is awsome but the gameplay i dont like. the controls are hard and things are too complicated. if you like the other army men games and you heard different then that is your discision. over all i wouldnt get the game

why can't they just improve the good games

I have played all of the army men games both for ps1 and ps2 and I must say that this one by far and a way is the worst. Not just for the army men series but out of every game I have ever played. the only good thing about it is the opening movie after that it's a big let down. contra atleast allowed the player to think about movement and stradegy this game doesn't even allow that. the weapons are useless and boring, the screen pushes the omega along, and the tan troops might as well be space invader type AI. Boy am I glad I rented it. to be honest even that amount of money was to much. To the people of 3do, sarges hero's 2 was a great game just improve on it. the omega would be a nice addition.

This game is awesome, I can't belive it got such low ratings

This game is a whole lot of fun and is action packed. The controls where a little hard to master at first , but by the second level, I had everything under my finger tips. The game is also challenging, sometimes a little too challenging, but once you get used to everything, it's a breeze. Over all, the game is just plain fun.

sarges heroes 2 is better

dont buy this game. the controls are wacked, it only has a couple of weapons, and the graphics in the actual playing part of it are only ok. if you want an army men game, get sarges heroes 2.

Worse game I have played in my life. Rent this before you pay good money.(Don't even rent it ,its that bad) You will hate it. It is simply awful. I wasted money on it and can't wait to find someone stupid enough to sell my copy too.

Save your cash , and buy a boardgame the graphics, and controls will be much better.

uhhh
