this game is pretty good the graphics are good as well. the only problems i have with the game is a long intro and if you step into shallow water ya die. between this game and any other game like it, kings field is better!

This game

I personal thought this game (...) becuase only thing i could do was do alittle jab with my sword. I would get ankle deep in water a my guy would fall down and die in 1 secound flat. (...) So beware users dont waste your money unless you are disperate to buy this game no matter what no body can change my mind about this game (...)

Old School RPG with ps 2 polish (not enough)

I bought this game in a flurry of first person RPG passion... I was playing the first Kings Feild and I felt that I wanted more of the same. If you've ever seen the first kings field I think you'll agree... the graphics are laughable... yet somehow I find them haunting me... imagine if pablo picaso was a fantasy artist and you were trapped in a world with his cubist demons and textures that all look like squares of spackled barf. Why can't I stop playing this game!!!

Okay, now we come to THIS game... The graphics are very nice yet utilitarian. but the gameplay is the same (exept for the addition of the ring magic system and it's also somewhat easier) right down to the controlls...

WHY... WHY NO ANALOG STICK CONTROLL!!! WHY!

Pretty good! Pretty good! Pretty good!

I was not going to write a reviewbecause the reviews of some ofthe other reviewers were on target. This game was pretty well thoughtout. If you enjoyed the Kings fieldseries, then you would definitleyenjoy this game. The sealed Labyrinth toward the end of the game provides added thrill and challenge, as you seek to obtainthe AWESOME eternal sword, andspecial unique secret rings thatreally add blossoming effect toyour power and attribute. Thelimited imperfections are really not worth noting. I hope Amazonwill be selling "Kings field IV-The Ancient City" expected out forPlaystation 2 at the end of March. After reading a review of thissoon to become available title,There is much anticipation, especially after completing thisenjoyable eternal ring Quest.

A fun cheap classic

This was one of the first generation PS2 games on its release. Its a first-person RPG where you create rings of magic for different spells and buffs. If you're into games like Kings Field and Elder Scrolls, you will most likely enjoy this game. Its pretty straight forward and there are a ton of spells to create. Definately a great underrated game!

Are you kidding me?

I just don't see it. I rented this game from blockbuster,.... Maybe my expectations are too high because of other games that I have seen, but the graphics are no better than a PS1 game. The music is boorishly simple, the characters are completely lifeless, and the voices sound like computer programmers trying to act.

Maybe I don't like it because I still haven't bought a memory card - if you die, you have to suffer all the way through the poorly animated opening sequence.

If you really really like this type of game, I guess it would be an OK buy ....

Please don't buy this game :(

This game was made by the same people who brought you the dismal Ever Grace and features a thin plot, poor controls, graphics and playability on top of what was originally a good idea. An example of the poor coding in this game?--monsters can hit you with projectiles THROUGH WALLS (and you could hit them only if you knew where they were)! Talk about bad coding :(

If you have enjoyed the King's Field series of games then you'll enjoy Eternal Ring, if not then you probably won't; which is why the rating probably suffers on this site. Creating the rings can be tricky, but after you READ (just the ring creation part) the manual and make a few rings you'll grasp the formulae. NOTE: save before creating rings. Rich environments, detailed monsters(some huge)and pretty cool spell effects. King's Field is the key..if you thought it was cool this is.........SWEET !! All others give it a try ....even though it is an acquired taste.

Great game, just a few problems

Personally I don't see why all you computer geek jerks have to rate a game lousy because it isn't what you would call Shenmue or Final Fantasy. For regular people like me, a game like this is just perfect if you're in a good mood and if you like to get hooked on things. I bought this game at a store for 29.99 and I was proud to add this one to my Playstation 2 archive of games. This game has some of the most creative concepts of an RPG that I have ever seen. Characters have smooth movements and detailed bodies. Backgrounds aren't the best I've ever seen, but they are good. The game runs on a steady 60 frames per second. Sure, it needs analog control, but other than that, it is very fun to play and the controls are easy to learn. The puzzles are somewhat obvious but they are still fun to figure out. If you still don't want to spend the money on this game just yet, rent it first. See if you like it. If you don't, then that's okay. Just don't be a snotty jackass about it.

NiCCCCCEEEEEEEEEEE!
