Simply dreadful, even by the low standards of so many games designed for children. To be honest, my expectations of this game weren't exactly high, but Horsez still manages to suck the life out of the gaming experience. Where to begin? 1. Tank-style controls of your character--does everyone remember Resident Evil 2? You'll get a vivid and painful reminder of it if you play Horsez...and without the consolation of killing zombies. Note to Ubisoft--the 90's called, and they want their graphics and controls back. 2. Another trip down memory lane for Resident Evil fans--a fixed camera, guaranteed to make you want to throw your controller through a window within half an hour. 3. Obnoxious, repetitive, and ever-present music. The music's a cruel tease, too--the game offers to let you turn the music off, but if you do, it also turns off the game's sound effects and most of the dialogue. Hmmm...come to think of it, with dialogue like Horsez's, maybe that IS a good idea... 4. For a game called "Horsez", you don't get to spend all that much time WITH your horse. You're required to hang out with your fellow zomb--er, equestrian students, and perform a variety of profoundly boring missions to advance what passes for the game's plot. Parents, the only reason to buy this game for your children is if they're being punished, and a lump of coal in their stockings for Christmas would be a lot cheaper. Plus, the coal would be more fun to play with. Where must I go to get my money (and the last three hours of my life) back?

FUN, BUT IM A LITTLE STUCK!

I am still stuck on the first part of the game, when your player crashes into a tree on her moterbike and your horse has to find her. I am sure this will be a great game!!

Wonderful game for horse-addicted girls

Horsez is fairly basic as games go. However, most adults who purchase this game are not getting it for themselves or for kids who are serious gamers. My five year-old daughter got this game for Christmas along with a whole lot of other horse-related gifts. She is LOVING Horsez. Caring for her foal, doing the simple adventure/missions, training for competition. The controls are simple enough for her to figure out on her own. Horsez is a big hit in our house.

Don't be fooled - False advertising at its worst

I am extremely disappointed in this game and very upset with the way this company is misleading customers with its advertising and labeling. The back of the package said, "Because There's No Such Thing As Too Much Cute!" There is nothing cute about this game, nothing. Most of the game runs like a bad soap opera made for teens. You spend a lot of time watching movies of people (not horses).
The back of the package and advertising implies that you pick a pony, raise it to adulthood and compete with it. That does not happen. The pick a pony part of the game is a small extra activity that has nothing to do with the main part of the game. In the pony part, you watch a pony from a distance and any interaction you choose takes place in a movie. The main part of the game is some silly story line about 4 young people learning and competing with one another at horse training academies with adult horses. You won't see pictures or screen shots of this story line on the packaging and advertising but believe me you will see lots of it during the game. There is very little real life-like interaction with the horse. You can't pet your horse or hand feed him or even lead him, you'll only see these things happen in movies. The horse's "care and training" include a very few boring and extremely tedious activities that are done the same way, in the almost the same setting.
The packaging and advertising for this game are an outright lie. Why make a game and then try to sell it as something it is not? I thought this was a cute, raise-a-horse, change-your-outfits kind of game that would appeal to girls...that is what the box said. Instead I got a really bad movie about dancing, partying, sneaky, bickering teenagers (one even says she has bulimia) with very little horse raising or horse interaction of any kind. I don't understand the "E for everyone" rating either. There are scenes and dialogue that make it a "T for teen" in my opinion. There are also a lot of software glitches and mistakes. Bottom line, parents, don't be fooled like I was by the cover and waste your money or time on this one.

As a parent of an 11 year old horse-lover, I would advise you skip this one and save your money.

My daughter loves horses. I mean, LOVES them. I figured she would love a PS2 game called "Horsez" too, but we were both sorely disappointed.

There are parts of this game that are fun for her, but most of it is poorly designed AND poorly executed. Some of my daughter's quotes:

"Man, I wish I could see better."

"I wish I could look around"

"Where is the key, dad?"

"Why isn't there a map?"

"How do I find ____?"

"How do I do ____?"

You get the idea. There are NO maps, no waypoints, no camera controls, and very little help in completing missions. I'm 34 years old, and I am apparently not smart enough to figure this game out, either.

The controls are poor, the in-game acting is poor, and graphics are on the poor side of okay. In short, save your money and wait until game developers figure out that little girls play PS2, too, and they deserve the best -- just like their brothers.

A Great game, but it is very misleading.

This is a really great game. i completed it within 3 days (im 12). I guess ppl are upset with it becuase they keep getting stuck.

At first, its a really dark setting and its storming. that is cute? No,no,no. I have been looking forward to this game, waiting for it, (my friend sent UBI SOFT a suggestion to make a Horsez ,because they had made Catz and Dogz.) And i was disapointed at how it was so different from what i thought.

The only cute part is the "Foal" one. you take care of a foal every REAL day (which annoys me a bit). YOu do all of you can (which isnt much) with the foal one day, and you eagerly have to wait until the next real day.

As for getting stuck in the birthday part (where you have to go into the library) here is where the key is---

Ok, you leave the building your in. walk out to the entrance (where you started the game) and to your left (not the characters left, your left) is a door. go in it, and the key is on the table. Simple,no? guess not.

Help at all?

It's Okay

This game is okay, but it's very dark in the beginning and I didn't like the ending very much. Also this game is pretty much a copy of Champion Dreams first to ride. At least I think that's the title of the game. I would suggest the computer game, the dressage is much easier on the computer because the dressage controls on this game are a lot like Dance Dance Revolution, except you use the X O square and triangle keys. And the people who made this game must think we children are phychics! If I hadn't read the review on where to find that stupid key I NEVER would have found it. Oh, by the way, the key is the director's office which is in the door on your left by the front gate. It's the little sliver of black which you can hardly tell is a door. Also, there's no maps and you'll often find yourself lost on the trails outside the farm because there's a bunch of different trails branching out and one way to the farm. And when you have to ride to the vet, you have to go off the trail which I dont know how I figured this out. And when you're racing, you have no idea where you're going! This game is very frustrating at times, but it's fun in other aspects. If you love horses a lot you might want to get this game, but I would really suggest the computer version although it doesn't work on our newest computers, the screen is cut in half on my grandma's computer, and there's no sound on my mom's old junky one, which is of no fault of the game. So the only part that really gives me trouble is the key part otherwise you should find everything you need, buut you have to be pretty smart to know how to use it though.
