If you've googled this game (you should) then you know that some versions of it came with an USB accessory which vibrates in time with the actions on the game.

THIS MAKES THE GAME.

I bought a DRMN Trance Vibe (google it) and a Butterfly (this is a rubber butterfly that incorporates straps to hold it in place & incorporates a "rumble pack" like your Dual Shock controllers have.. )

Gents, you just found a way to get your girl to hang out with you & play video games. Ladies... yes, it is more fun than you might already be thinking. Yes you.. I can see that you're a freak ;)

This game goes VERY well with recreational drug use.

Words cannot describe this game. I could end the review there but instead I'll try. Rez is the shooter sequel to Space Channel 5, wherin you navigate the inside of a Network as a polygonal avatar, destroying enemies in an attempt to bypass security and hack a sort of confused Master Control kind of program in a trippy philosophical 3D flying adventure. Oh, and the whole thing features graphics that look like tron and pulses to electronic music which changes because of the beats of firing your weapon. Sound crazy? It is. And oh-so-awesome.
I've never found another person loved Space Channel 5 the way that I do (despite never being able to beat either the first or the second game in the series), but I have met a few people who liked Rez. Only one seemed to really REALLY enjoy it, but no one is as ga-ga over Rez as me.

I love Panzer Dragoon, love Sky Gunner and Star Fox. I love shooters and 3D shooters (though I'm sometimes luke-warm and usually downright hostile toward the first-person variety). I also happen to love music games like Parappa the Rapper, Um Jammer Lammy and the like. So when you combine a music game with a shooter and give it visuals like this, I'm bound to love it.

I've been saying for quite a long time that what games need is to throw out the insanely high-polygon graphics and instead focus on simple high-resolution graphics so we can have games that look like the ones from Tron. I never really imagined I would see it, but nowadays they are everywhere. From the remake of Battlezone and Missile Command, to Geometry Wars and Schizoid, that kind of graphics is here to stay. Rez may not be the first of it's kind, but it is definitely a work of art. The splashes of color that accompany shots, the catchy music and ulockable bonus levels and modes keep you playing in classic Sega fashion, while the stellar gameplay, and incredibly exhilerating and soothing experience of actually playing the game ensure you will never get bored.

I keep finding myself returning and returning to the game to have just one more play-through, just one more feel-good, toe-tapping moment of enjoyment. This is a very enjoyable game. And now that it's available for download on the cheap in high-definition there are no more excuses. Every serious fan of video game art and unique play experiences needs to own Rez, if only to ensure that games of its caliber and recognized for their excellence and new ones like them are made. I love Rez, and hope you will too.

The game is one of the best ever made, but I wish that I have gotten it in its original packaging. The one that I received from VideoGamesDiva Amazon seller was more like a copied version, but it still works exactly the same.

Good game, not for just anyone though

This is a unique game. a Musical shooter with little actual story, but fun to play if you like music, rhythm and unusually beautiful graphics. It's beautiful though, and later levels are stuningly pretty both visually and musically. This game can be thought of as boring though, by alot of people, for it's lack of plot, and redundant gameplay. It also seems to take a while to adjust to the camera. As for overall gameplay, it's enjoyable, pretty and interesting. There is a loose plot as well, just not as involved as most games. Reccommended if you've heard of it, if you haven't it's probably not for you.

If you like trance/electronica music even a little bit, you really should give Rez a try. The gameplay is engaging, frenetic without becoming unmanageable, and the music integration still gives me goosebumps when I play.

Keep in mind that the notice when you boot the game should be taken seriously. It helps the game immensely to have an 'ideal listening environment' because music is such a big part of the experience. But, a good set of headphones works almost as well, if you have them.

All in all, if you love music and games, you owe it to yourself to try this game at least once.

Wasn't sure what to expect when I bought this game off a Japanese Import website. Apparantely, the Japanese version is much more plentiful than the American one. But I was quite happy. I have not gotten very far into the game, but I would say if you enjoy quirky shooters, as I do, than buy this game.

Nobody that I can see has mentioned the optinal controller only available through import sites, and the Big E bidding site. You really should check out this optional controller, especially you lady gamers. I have a feeling it would bring the "fun" factor up to 11!!!

Pick it up and SEE FOR YOURSELF!!

After reading all of the reviews here, I can tell you this: THEY'RE ALL TRUE.
After playing it myself, I can tell you without any glimpse of doubt IF YOU HATE IT, YOUR RIGHT. but believe me YOU MIGHT JUST CHANGE YOUR MIND. AND, IF YOU LOVE IT, ONCE YOU'RE HERE, THERE'S NO ESCAPE.

Not all there is to say about this game is here(or anywhere else), but that's how it shold be, it's just like every other game, find out for yourself.

EXPERIENCE synesthesia(intoxicated or sober, it's up to you), get yourself a nice set of speakers, turn off the lights and experience one the ICONS OF THE EARLY 21st CENTURY, not only for videogames but also for a social/technological turn in history that "is determining Our future right Now"...
......(actually, forget about last part, I love this game, just PLAY IT).
