Deep Behind Enemy Lines

I looked all over for this game and finaly found it at a local retailer, sorry Amazon, but you didn't have it and the USED price was too high, for me.

Anyway on to the reveiw, this game is as close as your ever gonna get to being behind Enemy lines with no one but you to CYA. Not only do you have to contend with regular troops but you have to deal with snipers, blowing newpapers, rats, dead ends that lead no where.

The wildest thing I've come accross so far in the game is as your leaving the engagement area on one level your way is blocked by a truck with Russian guards. Seems our Rusky Friends don't want anyone to find out what they are doing.

After you've taken out the troops take a few minuites to look around...these guys were loading paintings onto a stolen Nazi truck.

How very very realistic!

I usually do the Co-Op mode and this game is amazing. When you score your perfect shot it is great to see your work has paid off. Sometimes you have to get tricky by using various tactics such as hit and run, setting up trip wire grenades, blowing up C-4 bombs near vehicles. I think it's great when you as a sniper try to take out a tank with your gun. You just have to hit the fuel tank.

Get this game. You don't be disappointed

if you like first person shooters, i have three words for you: buy this game! this is my favorite game for this genre, black is my second favorite. long range sniping and close combat make this a perfect game. the graphics are decent too. i don't want you to waste time reading about gameplay,so read the product description for any more information you may need. i give this game 5 out of 5 stars.

its worth the money, the single player is amazing, if you like to snipe you will love this game, when you get a long distance shot the camera zooms in on the bullet on the way to the target, also the online multiplayer is lots of fun.

The game was pretty interesting at first although I would have preferred a modern day theme. I was expecting a strictly sniping game but quickly found out that there were levels in which the game resembled a scene out of true crime in which the object became just to shoot your way through a town involving little to ni sniping. Also hiding and blending into the terrain is a bit unrealistic with the provided 1998 style graphics. Overall, I would save my money.

First of all the graphics on Sniper Elite were very disapointing. The graphics for the buildings and landscape were decent but the tanks and people made me feel like I was playing PS1.

There isn't much plot if any. I'm not even sure what side I am fighting for. As far as gameplay goes it's basicly; crawl around for 20 minutes on the ground until you get to a decent sniping position, kill 2 people, than crawl around for another 20 minutes. And if you make a mistake and someone sneaks up behind you and tosses grenade in your lap you have to start all over again.

The only good thing I can say about this game is that it has some good online gameplay potential, but since I don't have the proper adapter or whatever you need to play PS2 online, I can't say.

Great concept, good game play, broken mechanics

This is the first WWII shooter I have played dedicated to sniping and it is good but could have been great. Physical and environmental factors that come with shooting makes this game very technical. I also like the sniper tricks that you can do such as sound masking your shots, injuring a solder as bait and hitting grenades that are being worn. The best feature I have found is that in some levels there are enemy snipers that roam and it becomes a sweet game of cat and mouse. Unfortunately, as you move away from the sniping aspects of the game you find flaws and short-falls within some of the mechanics.

>Since the game primarily take place in urban environments, shooting distances and associated properties are scaled down. Most of your shots will be within the length of a football field and compensating for gravity is over the top.
>Stealth and camouflage are unreliable. I couldn't see 100% correlation between the meter and the enemies' response when it came to camouflage. It felt like it was luck of the draw if the enemy would see you or not. In later levels the enemy will know your position regardless on where you are hiding.
>I'm not sure if the lack of attention to assault weaponry was intentional so you would not depend on them but they are almost painful to use. There is no first person view or peeking which you can do with the sniper rifle. The movement controls are too loose in third person and the accuracy of your weapon is terrible. The game has a well needed lock-on feature but makes this style of combat very arcade-like.

Even with the problems I mentioned I still recommend this game to any who would like to see more precision and patience in a shooter. If there's a chance you may want good fast gunplay, find another shooter that has sniper rifles in it.

It is a co-op game, but I just wasn't that into it. The cameras are hard to control and times and it can get boring.

Sniper Elite review

This game is challenging and unique in my limited gaming experience. While there is a lot of killing, the levels also require infiltration, that is, trying to get from point A to point B without being detected. This is not so easy, and whenever your sniper is discovered the enemy has somehow managed to get behind him. Not only that, he lets you know exactly what he thinks of you (in German) as he kills you. I know I'm dead but I can't help laughing. Perhaps it's perverse, but I'm having a lot of fun with this game.

This game is awesome, i have played it in the past and now. I have my own copy. Sniper Elite is one of the better sniper games out there by far. Tyvm Amazon and person's involved in making this game available to purchase.
