Interesting and even innovative

Many third party titles for the DS don't take the full advantage of the system's stylus and touch screen that they could, but Ubi Soft and Taito's Lost Magic is an exception. Lost Magic appears to be a tried and true RPG, and it is at it's heart, but it's innovative delivery and solid gameplay make it one of the better RPG's on the DS, as well as offering some features that make it worth checking out on it's own. Lost Magic revolves around young magician Isaac; who soon learns that the fate of the world is in his hands. Without giving too much away, Lost Magic features a great story that has a surprising amount of twists and turns that will keep you interested in the game alone. What really sets Lost Magic apart from the pack though is the use of the stylus and touch screen, which almost ends up like that of a proverbial magic wand. The game has a great look and strategy to it as well, while providing a healthy challenge as well. This department however is where Lost Magic's biggest flaw is apparent. There is a steep learning curve that comes out of nowhere that will frustrate you. If you can get through this flaw however, along with the buggy online multiplayer as well, you'll find that Lost Magic is a blast regardless. All in all, Lost Magic is an interesting and even innovative RPG for the DS that should be checked out by DS owners and RPG fans alike.

VERY REPETATIVE

I got this game, and It's a lot of fun!!! You get to be Isaac, a young boy who was seperated from his parents, and now has to save the world from evil forces. Their were only a few problems I saw with it.

1 This game is very repetative. You do the same spells over, and over, and over again. Eventually you won't even have to look at the touch screen to dnow what spell to cast.

2. Sometimes the game thinks that I lift the stilus off the touch screen when I don't and that usually gets me killed.

3. In this game their are time limits for as to how long you have to complete the mission. THEY"RE REDICULOUSE!!! They expect you to beat an extremely hard boss, who heals himself everytime you think you've killed him, and they expect you to do that in under 10 minutes. It just doesn't work.

So if your in to games that are EXTREMELY repetative, a little bit of a challenge, and really fast pace, this game is for you!!!

LOST MAGIC IS A REALLY GOOD GAME.

I recently bought this game because I wanted to play a rpg the last good one i played was tales of phantasia whic i beat really fast, anyways i was going on fieldtrip whic the bus ride was 3 hours long, i needed a game. I have a lot of rpgs for the ds so i was expexting this one to suck, a lot, and when i say that i mean a lot. To my surprise this game had really good graphics, as far as sprites go. Also the sound was really good. To be honset the storyline is basicly the same as it is for most rpgs but it is very intersting never the less. The gameplay is good, some people say its hard to move the screen which its not but i would of liked a button the moved the screen fatser. Also controlling units is very easy. If u like pokemon or warcraft or diablo, this is defintly the game for you.

This games was very different its a mix of RPG RTS and pokemon.
The controls with the pen were a bit hard at first but became
kind of fun, the story is predictable and sterio type. Over all
a 3/5.

kinda similar

This game looks really fun. I don't have it personaly but I've seen the screen plays online, and it looks really good! But it reminds me of the Harry Poter games for the computer for instance. When you want to learn a spell you have to draw a certain shape on the touch screen. And the grphics are kinda bad, and it is kinda like Scurge: Hive. It seems pretty much the same, where you just go around and kill things. Besides these facts it seems like a relly cool game.

This game is terrible.

This game does not have a good plot. Not to mention it does not have a real world setting like Final Fantasy VII does. It's battles are timed and if you do not beat the time you have to keep playing that battle to get past it. Speaking of the battles, your technique is writing symbols on a screen. This screen is terribly hard to write on because you have to be very precise on these writing or it does not work. Overall, this game is not fun and the battle system is way to hard to get unless you are an artist.
