Will not work on XBOX 360

Overall a pretty good game considering the limited selection of snowmobiling titles available on any system. Unfortunately not backward compatible with xbox 360 as of 12/07.

A fast paced action, hot diggidy dog game!

This game is one of the most exciting games I have ever played.(Period) If you are considering to buy this game, and you like fast paced action and battling while racing) this is the game for you. It is a racing game added with many powerups and weapons, along with a bunch of different modes and characters that can be unlocked! The only bad thing is that every race that you do involves eight players, most of them computer controlled. It would be better if you could do a race with only the human players, it would be more fun. And I really don't think the graphics are bad, because it doesn't really affect anything. If you are wondering if you should get it, but you don'y know because there are weapons involved, it really isn't that violent. Personally, I think the game should be for ages 7 and up. Anyway, if you want a great multiplayer game that will give you hours of racing fun, choose this one.

Fun game, though a bit repetitious

I was looking for an Xbox game that my 6 year old niece and 7 year old nephew might like when they came to visit me and I picked this one up. We had a great time with it, playing it over and over. The game play is easy enough for youngsters, though I'm not really sure my niece ever knew exactly what she was doing, and collecting points to upgrade the sleds and unlock new tracks and characters was a lot of fun. When they all left, I kept playing until I had it all unlocked. The game play does get repetitive and it is a bit limited--you can only replay the same courses so many times before you get tired of them. But it was a great choice for that weekend when they all came to visit and I'd recommend it!

I think this game is the best and i agree who cares about gameplay. I think it is the way u play the game and approach it. This is for people that don't hav the game, don't listen to those idiots, trust me, get the game u will like it(if u like racing games).

Fun if Playing Others

Arctic Thunder is an arcade game- plain and simple. It can be a lot of fun if you are playing with 2 or 3 others. Aim for the green turbo icons at all costs or you probably will never win. It is a blast when you hit these because your snowmobile takes off like a rocket.

Gameplay (7.0):
Easy controls, fun multiplayer, and stuff to unlock.

Graphics (6.5):
It is arcade-style all the way, so they are not that bad when you consider that. Could have been better.

Replay (7.5):
Very fun when playing with others and can be fun for a single player if you are into unlocking stuff. Will bore you after you have completed everything.

Overall (7.0):
I would love to give this one 3.5 stars, but since I cannot, I chose to round up because of the multiplayer fun.

This game [Is] Baaaaaad...

This is quite possibly the worst game on the xbox. Avoid it like the plague. I wouldn't play this game again if you paid me. I'm not even going to try to describe the game play - let's just say that I'm confident you could play this game blindfolded and still have the same results in the races.

Boring gameplay

I rented this game and was terribly disappointed. The gameplay in multiplayer was so blinding fast that you could hardly tell what you were doing. It was more like random shooting and there was nothing even vaguely fun and/or exciting about it. The single play was all right but the graphics are really lacking. The XBox is capable of so much more and this game really doesn't put the console to use at its full potential. I really couldn't recommend this game and wouldn't pay to rent it again.

STAY FAR AWAY!!!

Sure,I liked Hydro Thunder on N64 but this is TO MUCH!!! I must say WaveRace:BlueStorm is a better buy on a better buy system!

A fun, simple game

This is not a simulation game by any means. But the action is fast and smooth, there are tons of bells and whistles and the feedback in the controller is great! It's not particularly challenging in racing mode, but it's still fun!

For those put off by framerate concerns with the PS2 - this game runs as smooth as silk on XBox.
