This game is so stupid! Microsoft is a fool to make this game. This game is only for girls! I would rate this .1 out of 5. It has poor graphics, dump tunes, and more. Unless you are in love with horses or Barbie, don't waste your money.

If you want a cute game for girls, get Mario Kart, not this.

Obviously, this game was made for little girls, but there's better games out there that might appeal to girls without insulting their intelligence.

I'm actually exaggerating a bit, this game is not nearly as bad as it could have been. Most of the gameplay is built on riding your horse, which borrows a lot from the Zelda 64 riding engine. Once you get off your horse though to look for runaway horses, watch out. Barbie is slow on her feet and can't run, which can get very annoying. There are also side activities, like unlocking outfits and washing your horse, which is as rudimentary as using the cursor brush to move over a horse.

But overall this game sucks. If you want to buy a game for your sister/daughter/niece, get her a real game with quality gameplay, like Mario Kart Double Dash or Super Monkey Ball.

A good game for girls

This game is a great game for young girls. I got it for my daughter on PS2. She's ten and loved it. The story is basic, you have to rescue missing baby horses, but there are hidden coins and presents that let you unlock new outfits for Barbie and customize her horse. A couple of the puzzles were a little challenging, but nothing she couldn't figure out. It was fun for her to jump things and race her friends. Probably my biggest complaint is that controlling the horse takes a little to get the hang of, but after some practice, it became no problem. I recommend this game for any little girl who loves horses like my daughter. She and her brother had fun challenging each other with the multiplayer, too. It's not violent or dark and scary, just a fun and engaging adventure.

Barbie's so blonde...

...she does silly things like race her horse on a frozen river. Running on ice is fun, I guess, if you're a blonde. And she wears her show attire everywhere. (Can you really climb obstacle courses in field boots and tailored tweed show coats? Hmm...) If you're looking for a game showing safe, sane equitation, Barbie ain't gonna do it for you.

That being said, if you're just looking for a horse-themed Barbie game, this game isn't bad. There's happy New Age-y Barbie music, there's Barbie's perky voice and a "friendship meter" that shows if your horse needs attention, like pats and treats. Okay, it drives *me* over the edge, but my 6-year-old daughter seems to enjoy it--she'd recommend it. ;)

Oh my gosh!

This game. Oh my. I loved this game to death, playing it every single day, i got snagged on the second-to-last level, ripped the snag, and got to the end. Then, the problems showed up. I found the secret level, but the door was closed and i had to go through every stinking level again to get every coin. Im still working on it. It was fun at first, but now, it's just plain HARD, for me, a 10-year-old.

way too scary

This game scared the pants off my 7 year old son and his 3 year old sister. (Keep in mind that the son is just a little bit femanine acting.) They just couldnt get over the fact that they thought the horses were dead, or that Barbies horse was going to drown in the water, or that it would break its leg and fall on one of the many insanly to big jumps in this game.
It scared us to death thinking Barbie might fall off the back of the horse. the graphics are okay ocasionally you might even see something big and brown come out of the horses rear.
(Just kidding)
This has burnt a hole in our families trust for these games.
Halo or the grand theft auto (Duoble pack)are both better games for this age group, i think that all age groups could get attached to these to fabulous better.

Finally, fun on Xbox for girls

After months of watching her brothers play Xbox games, my 7 year old daughter has a game she loves and can play well. It isn't intimidating, it isn't even particularly challenging; it's just fun. Of course, her brothers think it's stupid, but hey, she thought Lord of the Rings was stupid. As a fun game for girls, this is a hit.

Great for girls who love Barbie and horses!

My almost-6-year-old received this for Christmas and loves it. It's her first video game and it serves it's purposes well- it's challenging enough for a young girl, yet not so hard as to be frustrating. There are a variety of activities to interest girls and opportunities to have 2 person games if you have 2 controllers. Overall, I'm quite pleaed. If you're an experienced gamer and like flight simulators and Halo, this will not be your game, but you probably knew that already

A Young Horse Lovers Dream

My daughter is only 4-years old and loves this game. This was the first game we bought for our X-Box. She has "mastered" it numerous times and still loves to play it! She absolutely loves it! It is a game without violence that is helping her learn about horses and is definitely helping her with her coordination skills. When we go to visit our real horse, she sometimes refers to things that she did while playing the game! We have the Game Boy Advance Barbie Horse Adventure and the PC Barbie Mystery Ride and this one is the family favorite!

Great for young girls

My 5/6 year old daughter can't get enough of this game. Great to see a game any parent can approve for a young child. I highly recommend this game as an alternative to the fast violence in most other games.
