Batman Vengeance is a fun action game that keeps you enjoying every moment all the way through the game. Honestly, I'm not one to like Batman, but this game was so much fun. When this game first came out, it was actually a lot of fun. I really wanted a good action/adventure game to play and what better than a batman game to fulfill this need. I've never watched the Batman animated series, but I hear that the game is loosely based on those. It's got a very dark, comic book look. The graphics are very hard to judge because of the art direction it takes. They don't look bad in any sense, they are just very comic book-y. I actually really enjoyed the look of the game. Let's just say they aren't realistic in any way.

The gameplay is also really good. Although the game takes a very "go from point A to B" type of style it is still so much fun. Throughout the game, you will encounter some of the most popular Batman bad guys from Poison Ivy to Doctor Freeze, and of course The Joker. They all make a great contribution to the game. Most of the game is played through a 3rd person perspective. When in this perspective, you can do pretty much everything except use your special gadgets and bat-toys. In that case, you go into a 1st person mode. My favorite of the gadgets is probably the batarangs; they are SO much fun! One small gripe about these gadgets is you cannot use them while staying in 3rd person. When you use any of them, the game automatically takes you into 1st person mode, which can feel pretty clunky and confusing at times. If you are in close combat, however, you can stay in 3rd person mode and fight with good old punches and kicks. The fighting in this game was put together very well and felt very authentic.

Overall, this game was very good, especially for a game that came out in 2001. It had a very unique art style that I liked a lot, even though it didn't truly show the power of the Xbox. It was definitely worth playing, a little short, but still very good.

I have liked BATMAN since I was a kid. This game seemed stupid when I heard it was batman (yes, i grew out of that phase) but when i actually got to play the game it actually had alot of cool features. The Batman's movement is really cool, the cutscenes are great, however their mouth doesnt move (can be ignored). Sound gives you the feeling of the old batman cartoon again. Storyline is basically the Batman cartoon that was on TV. Missions are sometimes a bit difficult because of camera angle but overall brings the thrill. I would recommend this because this is actually the BEST BATMAN game around that stuck to the original BATMAN storyline on TV and it is actually playable. Although there are rooms for improvement, this game is great and better than any other titles out there so if you are a BATMAN fan, this is it.

This is an amazing game... i found that it actually puts you in the game. I felt and still feel as if I am Batman. There are different levels to have fun on, there are even different vilins to battle. I would give this game a very high rating. Hope you found what you're looking for, i sure did.

I would say this is the best Batman game I've ever played. The Batman games on Playstation are good, but confusing and hard to control.
I like how they got the actual voices for the characters and not some phony ones who stand out like a sore thumb.
The free falling and the airplane chase take the cake.
The only two things I don't like about the game are: they don't tell you exactly what to do and where to go, and you can't turn the camera around and get a better view.

This is the Baest Batman game EVER!

Ok it be better if it had multiplyer but this is truly a fun game. I'm a big fan of Batman and rate this five stars because it's not to easy nor hard.

This game could have been great ... but it turned out awful ...
Rather than have a great 3rd person action-fighter, you have an acrobatic puzzle solver with some 3rd person fighting ...
What they should have done was to make the game more action oriented and to make the wire/puzzle solving with easier aim ...
Rather than having to point directly at the standing target, to point in the direction, and for the CPU to make the automatic adjustment ...
Also I've never seen Batman fall from a rooftop, but in this game, if you fall - you die ... with no chance of recovery ...
That was a huge mistake ... had they made the game based on what Batman could do in either the cartoon series or the comics,
the game would have been a spectacular success ... oh well ...

Dont buy this game I used to have it for Xbox and it stinks I wouldnt buy this for a dog!! The graphics are so bad that you can see his body go through walls they look like N64 graphics (no offense to Nintendo), the controls are horribble, the storyline stinks, there is sooo many glitches and it's waaaay too easy! I dont even know why they made it for Xbox, PS2, GC, and GBA. Get HALO or Spider-man NOT Batman Vengeance!!

This game is awful for several reasons.

1. The controls are awful
2. Way too much jumping around
3. Poor Storyline
4. You can't really use the gadgets during combat you mostly just punch.
5. The cut scenes like racing and flying the helicopter are next to impossible with the controls one bad turn and you get the I failed message, and you have to start all over again.
6. Lack of being able to save at any point.

Other than that it's great, Ha ha.

If you want a Great Gaming experience trade this game in for Halo, Max Payne, or Blood Omen 2 Even it it takes 3 for 1.

This game stinks on all 3 systems (4 if you count GBA). There is more jumping around than fighting. And the fighting is just punching. So the whole game is jump, jump, jump, jump, jump, punch, punch, punch, jump, jump, etc. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME!
