Why must the Xbox be forgotten

I must begin this review by saying I am an avid fan of the EA MVP Baseball series, and I am still getting over the fact that 2k took over the MLB license. I bought the NCAA game, enjoyed it greatly, but still missed my Pro team and recognizing the players. This game is a huge step up from last years release. The gameplay has improved and I love having my pro teams, but there are still some problems.

It looks like they did not improve on the graphics at all. Probably set aside because Xbox will be gone soon anyway. The announcers still call out errors that never happened or recap scenarios from earlier in the game that never took place. It can get annoying when almost everyone has been "thrown out at second trying to extend the single to a double."

At this point though, I am happy with the game. I like having my pro team back, and it is only a matter of time before I turn it all in for the 360. It is definitely worth the 29.00 for the game.

Keeps getting worse

I guess they just don't care about XBOX anymore.Buy MLB 2K5 world series edition instead,it's flawless. This is just unplayable junk.

Gameplay is nice but it's kind of annoying to hear comments that do not match what you're seeing. Also, farm system management is a nightmare.

Microsoft hates its customers (but loves money).

This lousy sports title looks like it will be the all time last original XBOX release. I bought my original shiny new XBOX and many new games one month after the xbox360 was released. I resisted buying this original XBOX because I just knew microsoft would find a way of taking my money and then screwing me. SURPRISE, they did just that. Only then did I learn that Microsoft would no longer in any way support the original XBOX and after giving to Microsoft my very hard earned dollars for all that stuff, I was now expected to throw it all out and give them more money for an xbox360. Oh, and then they might get around to backward compatability for a few titles at some point. I pray for the day Microsoft goes down in flames and I will NEVER buy an xbox360.

best baseball game ever

2ksports has always been very respected and I love this game. They haven't changed much in terms of Franchise mode or GM mode thus far, but they have stepped up the gameplay, making player movements smoother, adding more realistic sliding styles and of course the game is up to date with respect to major league rosters. The only possible flaw in this game would be inaccuracy of new player names... Dice-K has some phony name like Darren Matthews or something. Kei Igawa is Kerry Inglewood, Akinori Iwamura is Andy Ibarra and Roger Clemens is Roy C-something (and Clemens is an African American). The initials are right, but the names are made up. And as always, the lying legend Barry Bonds has not been included. I think they've made some mistakes by not including some of these names - could this be because they are not part of the players union yet or something I dont know. All in all they've inproved on last year and that's all I was hoping for.

My husband love it.

It was a gift to my husband, and I assume he loves it. Because he can be hours playing it. It is very similar to the 2006 one. Not much diference. But overall good.

The game is a glitch filled mess for ORIGINAL XBOX. I have not played the XBOX 360 one, but it appears they spent all their time on that one. As for mine: The graffics and true gameplay are great, but there are so many glitches, like if you save in-game and come back, you are always in Arizona no matter who you were playing. When I first bought the game, every time a replay was shown the game would freeze. So I turned off the replays and it played like a charm for a long time. The most recent glitch: if a fly ball goes to the outfield, my fielders will start diving and then they will get up and dive again and dive again. Or they will jump up in the air for a wall catch on a shallow pop up. So needless to say the ball goes rolling to the wall and slow catchers get inside the park homers on me. I was really anticipating this game because I loved 2k6 but this was a real let down.

Its not MVP baseball

This was my first year purchasing the MLB 2k series. I am hugely disapointed with my purchase. Yes the graphics are better, Yes the computer A.I. is smarter, and yes I love the new trading block system. But this game is one of the least user friendly games I have ever played.
In order to save while in franchise mode you must save your profile, franchise settings(if modified), Lineup, and season. It takes forever. It extremely difficult to create a player and add him to your team. As for the game mode: there no radar gun for pitchers so you have no idea how hard your pitcher is throwing. The fielding controls are a joke. The batting is the one aspect that's not bad, but once you reach base its a pain in the but to steal a base. Everytime I tried the runner left to early and was picked off by the pitcher. I have always played the EA sports MVP series and this is a huge downgrade from that series. I'm 24 years old and feel like a [...]trying to figure out the controls for this game.

Lousy pitching interface...

I rented this game before buying and I'm glad I did! Graphically nice, but as another reviewer said, "Often the commentary does not match the gameplay". Also, I found the pitching interface to be confusing. Maybe I am just stupid, but I did not enjoy this game at all. The opposing batters hit almost everything I threw at them, and there were many in the park homeruns. Pathetic. The EA MVP series was much, much, better and I am sorry to see 2K take over the fanchise. I haven't played the Xbox360 version, but I am not prepared to pay that much for a "game" machine.

the game has a few bugging traits.

This game is an improvement from last year, but be warned of a few very anoying details... The cpu is a perfect fielder. And yes, in this game there is a defense against homeruns. Every homerun hit is catchable if you jump the wall, which is very hard to do with the right timing. The cpu catches the homeruns almost everytime.
Most of the games in the rookie setting, i win 1-0. In the pro setting, I lose like 8-1 alot.
Very few ground balls make it through the infield because the cpu can dive for it and still throw you out by a couple yards.
Even with all those problems this game is still fun. Payoff pitches and easy diving make it fun.
