Better than a Shrek sequel!

I had a chance to preview this title at CES and I was really knocked out by the graphics and the gameplay. It looks like solid winner and goes a long way toward making up for the dud that was the first Shrek game for XBox. This one is geared toward younger kids, and, in spite of that, should be fun for the whole family. A solid choice for kids this holiday season!

I picked this game up with my initial xbox purchase. I was looking for something that my wife would like to play since Halo and Medal of Honor are not her style. After getting the kids down for the night, we fired up the xbox and started the Super Party.

You have your choice of 6 characters with the Magic Mirror as the Host. Game play is turn based and challenges can be between teams, two players or all players. The games vary in difficulty but are fun. We played it for a couple of hours and can't wait til her friends come over to play.

Graphics and sounds are great. Instructions for each game are listed prior to the start. Pretty much an insert and play game. I didn't think I would enjoy it this much, but it brings back the memories of Mario party when it was first released. A fun game for all. The more players, the better it is!

I did not like this game for one reason it was way too easy.... I got bored right away when I played it. It is a dumb game.

I got this game for Christmas and frankly, I didn't have very high hopes. It looked a little too cartoonish and silly but since I was in need of a multi-player game I gave it a try. Wow, was I wrong. This game IS silly and cartoonish but it is also loads of fun. We ended up playing it for hours. The game can be played two ways: either as a tournament game (which is like a board game) where you visit different realms in the quest of points, while competing against others or you can just play the individual games which will have you frantically running about and laughing hysterically. This game is perfect for any age. Give it a try, you won't be sorry!

Great Fun

Shrek Super Party is one of my favourite games. My partner isn't very much into video games but Shrek is the only one he loooves to play.
It's very fun to go from the mini-games called "Epic Battles" to the "Daring Duels", the characters look very much like the ones in the movie, the graphics are AMAZING, the music can be contagious. If you want to spend a good hour of your time with your loved one, family and friends, definitely this is the game to go.
The only bad thing is that the game is intended for 4 people so if only 1 or 2 are playing, the CPU controls the rest of the characters, which makes it unfair since most of the times it ends up winning. Other than that, go for it!

Squishy fun for all

As an avid Mario Party fan I wanted to find a similar game for X-box. This one was definitely a good buy. It's sarcasm and squishy bug noises are entertaining for young and older players. Although it's better with 4 people, it's still a good time if you play alone.

A Sleeper Hit

Bought Super Party because I had the Shrek game. This is much better! My grandkids laughed and laughed. The best is the Scooter races through the castle. There are many different games in the "Skirmish" category that keep it interesting...they're not all the same with different backgrounds.

Great game, too much flack.

This game has gotten ridiculous reviews on a lot of sites. It is reviewed by pimple faced teens wanting a first person shooter. These people should realize that for a family man like myself this game is great. My 4 and 6 year old daughters love this game, and on top of that, it's pretty fun to play with my wife also. If people review games based on their target audience they'd know this is actually an excellent game.

Great graphics, fun games, but a few flaws

Shrek: Super Party has great graphics, and a good sense of humor if you liked the Shrek movie. Also, it's got a good variety of games that are a lot of fun with a group. There are some frustrating flaws though. First, many of the games are very difficult if you are color blind (like me). There are a few games that I simply cannot play. Second, the description of the games is pretty limited, so it takes a few times to get the hang of it. This is fine if you are going to be playing with the same people over and over, but when you have some people playing for the first time, they'll be pretty confused by a bunch of the games. Mario Party does a much better job letting you learn what the controls are and letting you practice before actually playing. Finally, in the tournament mode, I don't think Shrek does as good a job of showing the overall story and character positions as Mario Party. I was tempted to give 3 stars because of these flaws, but once you get beyond them, there are lots of fun mini-games in here.
