Breathtaking.

When I got this game, I thought twice about playing it. I was a little wary about a game in which you fight alongside a pig. Once I picked up and played this game, however, that all changed.

This is the kind of game that makes me believe that we cannot make graphics any better (then I play a game like Spider-man 2 for the PC... Blech). The scenery and characters are breathtaking.

The camera is an interesting aspect of this game, and it adds a whole new level of gameplay. Taking photos of the indigenous life is enough to make this a great game, but then you throw in a great fighting system and a great storyline. The Dai-jo stick is the best weapon EVER! You flip around, Dai-jo whirling and take out badguys. Then, there are the guys that take more thought to beat, like a giant green cyclopic creature!

It really was a great feeling sending in a picture of a giant bone-snake thing and having the woman who pays you be amazed at your find. Too bad it's a boss enemy...

Great game, and for 20 bucks it's quite a bargain.

Amazing game for the money

I had read reviews of this game that said it was really amazing, and had seen quite a bit of hype in magazines and stories from last years E3. I could never find it in my local rental stores so I just kind of forgot about it. Then I saw it for $20 a couple weeks ago. I bought it mainly because of the low price. When I started playing it though, I was blown away. The visual design of this game is so beautiful. The characters and animals are original and will stick out in my mind for a long time to come. As an aspiring conceptual artist and possibly game developer, this game really inspires me.
The gameplay is really varied and fun. Good amount of puzzle solving that will keep you guessing, but not frustrated.
I strongly suggest you pick up this title if you are a fan of action/adventure games.
The only problem that I had with Beyond Good and Evil is the camera angles in some of the indoor environments, and that the game is ENTIRELY TOO SHORT. I finished the game in 15 hours.

A very good but overlooked game

Beyond Good and Evil is a very good game that I have played several times. The graphics are absolutely beautiful and the story line keeps you hooked. This is very unique game but has unfortunately been overlooked and has not sold well due to poor marketing. The only problems I had with the game were camera issues once or twice, but the annoying thing is the cliffhanger ending and no plans for a sequel due to the poor sales.

Very Underated

This game compares to hit titles like Windwaker and some more of the action games on the gamecube! This game is definately worth the $20.00 you would pay for it.

This game never got the respect it deserved and is worth the look if your in need of finding a good game. Lets see some of the aspects to the games.

Storyline: 5/5 Infiltrate the government and beat men up with a big stick.

Length: 5/5 About a 10 hour game. So you get your moneys worth out of the game. If you use a guide or anything like that you can beat it in 4-5 hours but thats not fun. For a "Perfectionist" it might take you around 20 hours to beat it.

Controls: 4/5 The camera could be annoying and its hard to turn the camera. But for the most part the control are just fun.

Overall: 5/5 100% worth it, if it was my choice this game should have been up for GOTY. It is a must for a Gamecube owner and a must for those of you looking for good cheap games to play.

Best P.C. game ever.

this game is one of, strike that, the best game i have on the P.C.
The gameplay is great, the stealth action is awsome, and the music
in this game is some of the best ever, especially the music in the Acuda Bar. my only problem is that the game is too short for better players, 3 or 4 days. and this game was not very hyped up, not many
people played it, makeing it an Underdog.

Even if this game was on my shelf for the last 2 years, I installed it thinking that I would have a brief look then uninstall it ASAP. Boy I was wrong.

This game has gorgeous graphics, nice music, great characters and intriguing story. Why haven't it sell more? The marketing department at Ubisoft deserves a slap on the back of the head.

The side quests in this game consists of taking pictures of every species of animals and find all the pearls, which you can use to buy critical components for your vehicles.

The stealth part of Beyond good and evil are not too frustrating. The Alpha sections guards are pretty stupid. If you die in a room, you will start over just at the beginning of the room. The only exception is the Alpha sections HQ but you do not have to do this level to complete the game.

The combat is fun too. There is not a lot of moves the heroin can do but you will have no difficulties in destroying the enemies.

Have fun with this game. I know I did.

im waiting for the days when there will be a large underground gaming world as there is with music and movies, etc. it always tends to be that the best media products are released under these pretenses.
beyond good and evil (though, with a title that oddly reminisces nietzsche) is a game that would be a part of an underworld gaming culture. not hugely distributed or advertised but, from what i can tell, has a distinct and loyal fanbase.

no, it isnt the best adventure game out there but its heads and tails above most anything else youll run into. those that love dreamfall and the longest journey will like it.

its not all that beautiful, the story is laughable at times but at others can be quite engaging, and the audio is something to be desired. but its just one of those games you play and for whatever reason you put the controller down and feel glad that you played it.

this game RULES!

This game has to be one of my favorites of all time. Brilliantly developed characters and story, great gameplay, extremely fun, blah, blah, blah! BUY THIS GAME! for $20 from amazon, its too good to be true.

Needs A Sequel!

Just in case any Ubisoft people are reading this, THIS GAME NEEDS A SEQUEL! It has beautiful graphics and wonderful gameplay. Admittedly, I ran into a couple bugs, but I didn't mind starting over too much because it was such a great game. It had a cliff-hanger ending, too, so I get the feeling that there was supposed to be a sequel. People, buy this game. Maybe they'll realize that what the world needs is a Beyond Good And Evil 2!

sadly, a best kept secret.

As most of the reviewers have said. Great graphics, great story, and overall a very fun game. There's no point in restating everything that has already been said.

How'd we all miss this game for so long?
