This game is absolutely the best value I've ever experienced in a PC game.

It's better that most games.

Very Good. Minor Cons

It is a very good game. Graphics are intense and the realism will keep you addicted. Many options and voice phrases. The only downfalls are that the system requirements are a little high for us kids with poor computers, and the price should be a little lower. I would say, you SHOULD buy this game. But wait till the price drops.

This is a GREAT Game. It can be difficult but it wouldn't be fun if it was too easy. The graphics are GREAT, if you have a good computer. You have to employ tactics, manage your men, operate your equipment and weapons, take your time on your missions. If you advance too fast the enemy will do you in. The only 2 saves per mission is frustrating, but it forces you to be careful and not get over confident and dead. Ammo is sufficient, but don't waste it. I like to lure in the enemy from a safe location and prone position then eliminate them before they can fire RPGs and grenades at me. The sniper rifle works great for this. Learn to throw grenades, they can be very useful. They blow up land mines and your guy can throw them left, right, close or far, or anywhere in between. The training in the beginning is essential. If you complete the training you will be able to play the game. Do not reload your weapon when prompted to. You will just waste ammo. Only in a critical situation where you know you need to start out with a full clip should you disgard a partial clip. Have fun, but it isn't easy. I'm sure you can complete your missions.

This game really makes you feel like your ahead of a special forces team. Great training program to get you started with the (at first) difficult commands. Once you get the hang of it's amazing fun. The game does not last very long but you get into some fun challenges. And those specially located tanks are always annoying but very reliveing once you blow them up.
The thing I liked most about this game is your ability to heal a member when their down. You don't have all the time in the world to do so but it makes the level progression go back and forth.
Co-Op features are the real heart of this, getting four people to move about in these levels all working together is just great.
Replay value is not the highest but is always worth it, I highly recommend this game.

The graphics were o.k. Unfortunately the game is extremely hard. Although hard the game is fun. I just wouldn't waste my money on it. I don't think it's worth it.

Wouldn't recommend.

The graphics really hurt this game. You can barely see the enemy unless they are two feet in front of you. Your character is also very slow to move, aim, and fire. I would go with Ghost Recon

played it for a while then so what?

CDS is not awful, just full of holes in what could have been a great game. Here's why. You have 4 men on your team, and you can play any of them. The control and aiming system is not intuitive - Deadly Dozen Pacific Theater did a better job for a lot cheaper. The real killer for me was 2 things. First, the enemy AI is just awful. The tanks have unerring aim and will blow you away immediately when they see you. But the footsoldier AI is terrible. They simply rush at you with no sense of tactics. Many times, I have seen up to ten of them rush around a corner to be blown away. Now, if you were a soldier, would you run around a corner if there were a mountain of your dead buddies in front of you? Probably not! Like so many other games, the computer simply throws hundreds of baddies at you in an attempt to hide the awful AI. Even so, I played it for a while until I got to a mission where I had to drive a special jeep. The controls were very frustating. When you saw an enemy, you had to stop driving, switch to the player holding the rocket launcher, fire, then switch back to the driver. Most such games have a control where you can aim the gun and drive the vehicle simultaneously. But not CDS. After being blown away 20x, I simply stopped playing and put it back on the shelf. The graphics are quite sharp however. If you want a fun squad based-shooter, spend the extra money and buy Ghost Recon, Raven Shield or even Call of Duty. You can do some fun things in this game. In one mission, you have to destroy a mobile scud launcher with a tank nearby. I was able to trick the tank into blowing up the scud. Then I crept up on the tank and destroyed it. That was fun. To me however the real test of game is not did I enjoy a few select levels - heck even part of MORTYR were fun - but will I keep coming back to it. This game fails that test.

This game is fun and exciting, but rather short. If there had been more missions or even longer missions, I'd rate this game at 5 stars. But it's still addictive, and I play it over and over, on all levels of difficulty.
