The graphics are very poor and there is no way to use a controller, you must use the keyboard.

I agree with the previous reviewer about the inferior graphics. I expected much more for my money, and once the disk is initialized, you cannot return it. So don't waste your money on this product.

Fun variations on a classic theme.

I saw the box for this on a shelf a few weeks ago and suddenly realized how long it had been since I'd played Tetris. I didn't even have any Tetris variants on my current PC. Playing this is like being reunited with an old friend.

There's a cool feature that allows you to use any mp3 you have on your system as background music during the game. The default music is pretty dull, but I've now got my own personalized Tetris soundtrack by Prodigy, They Might Be Giants and Björk.

I can't see buying this package if you've already got a different version of Tetris that you regularly play. The elemental variant games are interesting (I actually really like the Fire and Wind games) but not that different from classic Tetris (which is good - why mess with a good thing, eh?). If, like, until recently, me, you don't have Tetris at all anymore, this is a reasonable way to reacquaint yourself with it.

You can't get bored

This game is totally NOT Boring. Once you start to get tired of playing one way, you can change to another type of play and wait until you get tired of that type. I thought my favorite was the two sided until I started to play the ice Tetris, then I played the fire tetris. It just goes on and on including the classic. All tetris lovers must try this!

its got 6 modes including classic tetris. It basically changes the back round and then one extra thing, like in the fire mode you can clear 8 rows instead of 4 if you super heat the bottom 4 rows by dropping them fast. You can load your music into the program by putting it in the music folder provided so you can listen to your tunes while you play without minimizing. It keeps your score and you can have several log ons.

The only problem is you can't minimize (probably because its an old game?) you have to use CTRL-ALT-DELETE. It doesn't crash the game, thankfully, but its kinda annoying.

One other thing is that when you get a tetris (clear 4 rows at once) the game lags for a second. It doesn't matter if you're competing because it consistently lags for a second (freezes the game to give you your bonus score) so it'll be fair, i just found it slightly annoying.

I'd say if you really like tetris, its worth the $15 i payed for it.

I FINALLY got my FAVORITE game!!!

"TETRIS Elements" is like having 5 ways to play "TETRIS"....with each variant pleasantly challenging and fun....although I still love the 'original' "TETRIS" the most! It comes with a very helpful how-to pamphlet that really comes in handy when trying to learn one of the new ways to play, and tells you what to expect in each of the 'ELEMENTS'--like how to watch out for all of the FANTASTIC special effects, (i.e. ever-increasing heat; tremors and falling boulders; overpowering winds with blinding snow, etc.....depending on which weather 'element' of the game you choose to play).

The seller is to be commended on GREAT protective packaging...my long-awaited acquisition of "TETRIS" arrived in PERFECT condition and was worth the wait! Great price, too, and worth every penny!!

There are so many different games this software, that one can never get bored. For me, I like the Classic the best, then the Tempest and Earthquake; they are equally fun. The other are a bit hard for my skill level. I am sure others will find this game very fun to play & play.

Great Game
