Disappointing

I was looking forward to the release of this game. Not too many fishing sims have need released lately. Trophy Bass 4 is four years old, and it plays better than this game. The fish graphics are jerky and the fins sometimes disappear when passing in front of a rock or weeds. The look of the game is beautiful, but the play leaves something to be desired. It looks like 2004, but plays like 1999. The lure selection is limited compared to other games. The only high points are the 360-degree lure cam, and the fact you can use live bait (something other games do not offer).

In Fisherman: Freshwater Trophies is a great fishing game. Being able to fish for other freshwater species besides bass is a big plus. Fishing for walleye, northern pike, muskie, carp, sauger, lake trout, etc. is a blast. This game even features online fishing tournaments for added replay value.

This game does have its flaws, but not as bad as other fishing games I have played through the years.

5 stars for fun.
4 stars overall.

A good basic game on fishing.
Good quality graphics.
Not much difference between experience levels.
Is helpful for a novice or beginner in teaching about the basics of fishing.

Excellent game for children who are interested in learning to fish.

More options for things such as rigging, and techniques would have made it much more realistic and challenging for the experienced fisherman.

For example the use of weights is absent.
And even though there are no weights associated with any of the plastics they drop to the bottom very quickly and stay close to bottom the whole time.

It's a fun but very basic game.

In-Fisherman is a great fishing game. I like the underwater camera that can make several view shots including following the lure or panning 360 degrees. The graphics, such as the sky, land and water are very good and I actually like it better than any other fishing game I have played. The boats and such are ok but not what I would call excellent, especially when you are moving around in water, it just looks fake. The live worms are a real neat feature. The tackle box is skimpy so don't plan on using a lot of different baits with this game. I didn't like how you had to set the hook and you only had a couple of seconds to do it or the fish was gone. It would set sometimes but other times despite my best to move the mouse, the fish would take off. The casting is easy. Getting around is easy using the map. Overall a great fishing game but not for anyone looking for a big tackle box. I like the fact that I can catch a lot of variety of fish though so that makes up for the lack of tackle.

Very disappointing

I was really looking forward to playing a more modern fishing simulator. My best one is several years old. This one didn't impress me at all. I tried hard to like it and use the different features.

My biggest gripe is the "lure-cam" - The underwater camera's field is too narrow - I can't see the fish!... - As a fisherman, I don't want to manipulate the camera while teasing the fish - That's to much to do.

Even at the current low price, I can't recommend it. Sorry.

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.. again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i picked up this game in a hurry knowing it was in fisherman. i knew they would give you info. about the fish. and best of all you can catch catfish!!!!!! but this game is repetative. you can use a fish finder that doesnt help. what came up as a huge fish on the fish finder was the smallest (...)crappie ive ever seen!!!!!!!!!! and the music!!!!!!! the music is what makes you angry in the morning. im like shut up. i know that you picked the first 3rd grade band you could find but at least dont tell us that. if you press mute you should have a good time w/ the game 4 4 hours tops. fish realistike and lures are realistike but i do wish the graphics were better.

Great fun!

I bought this game off the discount rack and could only play it for a little while unitl I got frustrated and quit. The graphics are poor and the boat gets stuck all the time. Half the time you make a cast and it says something about the fish was missed and ends the cast. I would not recommend this fishing game.

This game isn't very demanding of your computer, which means you'll have no trouble running it on anything made since 1998, more than likely. The best part of the game is outsmarting the fish, which is enjoyable for longer than I thought it would be.

My 11-year old son played this for hours at a time, funny enough. We'd hear his shouts as he pulled in another fish bigger than the last.

Easy to play, not amazing visually, but effective enough to be fun.

Oh my God!!! This game is absolutely terrible!

Years ago I had a fishing game that was a ball to play and the graphics and action were extremely realistic. It was exiting to play. Unfortunately, it can't be played on newer operating systems. I think it was made for Windows '98. I just bought In Fisherman Freshwater Trophies and I simply can't believe how terrible it is. The graphics are the worst I have seen in any game, the controls don't work, and, well, it's just really bad. It's so bad, in fact, that I would say it isn't much better than the old Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards was back on the 1st generation MS-DOS PCs. It's really that bad. I am not a big gamer but I do have Medal of Honor and a few other games and they are light years ahead of this piece of garbage. It's mind-boggling that someone could actually put out a game this bad. I just threw mine away. Even my 5 young grandchildren wouldn't like this junk. Don't waste your money.

Now I have to find a good fishing game.
