It was a gift for my Mom. She is addicted to it. I miss her. We can't pull her away from the PC.

I give 3 stars, because I haven't played it. Mom would give it 5.

This was my first computer game. I played it online for a while, then decided to purchase the DVD to increase the challenge.

I totally enjoyed this game for a while. The first time through the challenges was fun, but later levels became increasingly difficult to the point of frustration...because of the time limits per level. Eventually, I found myself signing off after only one try at a level. Then, I discovered the hidden object games, and I liked them more.

Now, Jewel Quest is just a icon in my games folder that I rarely visit.

I first played this game on a trial basis through a game site and realized that I had to get the full version. I am glad that I did. There are a lot of different boards to play and each board becomes a bit more difficult. The good thing about this game is that if you're unable to beat the board, it eventually allows you to "give up one life" and move on to the next board. It has 5 levels of play and as I am still on the first level I assume it gets increasingly difficult in time. It's a great variation on Bejeweled but recommend it more for adults than kids younger than 10. It's very addictive and find myself playing for hours if I don't tear myself away from it. This is a great gift!

Fun and Challenging

As a big fan of Bejeweled, I had high hopes for Jewel Quest and for the most part it did not disappoint. The game has 5 levels and each level has varying number of boards to play. Some are more challenging than others but overall the game is very enjoyable and winnable with a bit of work (I don't like easy games, but I also don't like games almost impossible to win). One or two boards are very tough but that is what makes it fun. After making your way through all 5 levels (if you can), the game returns to the first level and you go through the same levels and boards all over again. However, each time the game adds complexity (like non-jewels that can block your moves if you're not careful). Very enjoyable and I recommend that anyone who likes Bejeweled or similiar games try Jewel Quest.

I haven't stopped to read the comments between levels, but the game is fun. One session (multiple levels) will keep me busy for close to an hour. I'll have to stop and read what it says some time. There are differences with Bejeweled that make it more challenging. My family is having a fun time with it.

It's a lot of fun and it's nice you can trade lives when you fail level a few times. Some of the puzzles are really tough to get right!

The puzzles are challenging enough to hold my interest and I enjoy them. The puzzles take much concentration to complete within time frame. I play this game almost nightly for at least 2 puzzle screens to clear my mind.

A Fun & Addictive Game

I recently started playing several computer games, and this one was recommended to me by a friend - she said it could be addicting, and I must say that she was right!

I have been playing Jewel Quest on and off for several months now, and it seems as if the levels will never end. I think this is a good thing, because once you solve a game, you usually don't play it again. Because of the sheer # of levels, this game can provide many, many hours of enjoyment (or frustration....)

One of the great features of this game is that you are never made to start all over again - You keep working on the same board until you conquer it. After you've attempted the same board several times without beating it, you are given the option to just skip that particular level, and move on. I personally never choose that option, but I like to know that the option is available if I get too frustrated with the difficulty of a particular section.

The goal of Jewel Quest is to match various items - you must match at least 3 of the same item in a row or colum. By doing this, you turn the "sand" tiles to "gold", and you must get the entire grid gold within a specific period of time. It may sound easy, but as you move along the levels, it actually gets quite difficult.

Overall, I would recommend this game to anyone who enjoys matching games where there is increasing levels of difficulty. My thought is that it's probably more appropriate for adults as opposed to children.
