The Most Addictive Game I Own

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 0 / 0

I bought this game after i went to my cousins house and saw him play it. He never wanted to let me have a turn and at that time i didn't understand why. I found watching this game very interesting and so i bought it two days later. Took me about two days of playing it alot to find out how to do everything, yet i still haven't mastered it (i've had it for a year). This game is great, real strategy best one ever made i feel. I keep going back to this game and playing it and i ussually end up playing it for about a month or two. It is difficult to win, but whether u win or lose u feel u've done well and u can only do better. Ucan play either the Empire or the Rebellion (hint: i find it easier to win when ur the rebels) Highly recopmmended. U'll be addictive i assure u.

The best tactical strategy game on the market!

Risk is the classic game of strategy and tactics, and though many computer games have attempted to improve upon that classic game, none have effectively done so. There is no to very little skill involved in many of the so-called strategy games on the computer today, Age of Empires lacks any tactical skill and Starcraft lacks of the strategy aspects. But where these games fall short, Rebellion excells.

If there is one game on the market that contests Risk, Rebellion is that game. Wield a war dependent on brute force or diplomacy, choose the missions that all your favorite characters go on. Become the Rebel Alliance and free the galaxy or the Emperor as you squash this insignificant resistance to your rule. No two games are the same.

Though the game may take time to learn and get into, if you get discouraged at this point you'll be missing a truly excellent game. I warn you however, you must first collect rescorces, only then does the game truly begin.

Ten years ago or so, TIE Fighter, Lucas Arts first true PC game blasted onto the market, the game all flying sims are based on. I've no doubt Rebellion shall become the basis of all the games in its class.

Rebellion combines aspects of Sim city with a Star Wars turn of Age of Empires as you weild your fleet against your opponent, either manually or simulated.

And there are suprises around every turn, who knows, just when you think you're doing well, the Empire may have secretly constructed a Death Star or has a Nograi assassin ready to strike Luke Skywalker.

But whether you choose the light side or the dark side, remember, the force will be with you!

Put down but a good game

When i first saw this game i was amazed. i couldn't wait to get home and play. It is different than i though and really hard to get used to and play but once you get the hang of it you love smashing rebel fleets with seventy destroyers or taking their main worlds and using their own factories against them.
All in all i love this game and if you like the space battles of star wars you should try this out. dont pay attention to the people who say its lame, give it a try.

Still on my hard drive....

This game is one of a handful of games that I still enjoy years after their release. When I initally got the game back in the early 90's I was impressed with the deep strategy of Rebellion. It essentially is an Empire type game. You manage your resources, develope your armies/starfleet, apply espionage forces and heros and there's even a basic fleet warfare element to it. Sound like a recent release called SW battles of empire? It is! They used this as the basic template of that game. For my money though this outshines the more recent game.

If you are the type of person who wants a thinking approach to galaxy domination this is your game. All the main characters from the Star Wars Universe are here, with appropriate skills that you can use to further the Rebellion or crush it. There is sooo much you can do!

Therein is the only real challenge of the game. It does have a significant learning curve. If you take the time to get familiar with it though you'll be extreamly happy you did!

Imagine a game being played turn wise for months on your computer and you've got rebellion. In my experience only games like MOO or perhaps Empire of the fading sun have given me such fun.

This one is worth your time!

Wonderful Game

When i first got this game i loved it to death, and still do of course, the graphics may not be up-to-date with modern games but what i like about it is that instead of constant war you get to see the Economic side of War, such as having to Send Diplomats to Planets to increase your popularity on them which if it's high enough it joins your side, and then on Enemy planets you can create uprisings and capture heroes or get them back with a rescue team, build up your forces and crush enemy Systems, Bombard planets, build Shipyards, and all other fun things, my point is that this game is great for people who want more Strategic value in a game than regular, a great buy indeed.

This is a great real-time strategy game. I just wish the graphics were a little better. My whole theory is if it's addicting, it's good. And this game can draw me in and I lose track of time.

Lots of Promise, but falls flat

Anyone ever play Privateer: Armada? This really reminds me of that allot. The great sweeping star wars saga has been replaced by nothing more then a third rate game of chess. The special effects are cheesy and the so-called battles take forever. Save your money and don't buy this one.

If you want a great Star Wars game get X-Wing or X-Wing Alliance.

Horrid game

This game is horrible. As a huge Star Wars fan, I was hoping for a fun, strategy game to play using the Star Wars universe.

Yet, not even the force could bring this game back to the light side. The gameplay is aweful, graphics are worthless, and really there is no reason to play the game.

If you want a good strategy game, try Starcraft, Age of Empires 2, or Civilization 3. AVOID THIS GAME AT ALL COSTS!

Good game to play alone, but not against others.

This is a very fun game, but when you play on the net agaisnt others it seems to mess up a lot with REB EXE errors. so if you wanna play others it takes longer because you have to keep saving and restarting, if that problem was fixed all would be great in it.
