I Needed to Gargle to get the bad taste out of my mouth

This game is awful. On a 56k modem, the game paused about every three steps to load what everyone else did. The controls are numerous and confusing. It is hard to start, and nobody will stop running around like idiots for a second to answer a simple question. It is also easy to get lost and the game has no point. An all around bad game.

Endless problem

I play this game for 8 month and had to stop playing because of extremely bad customer support and endless connection problem. I disagree with critics of UO on subject of "Pking" only Player vs Player combat make this game worth to play other wise game like EQ much much better. WORNING: TECHNICAL REQUERMENTS ARE NOT REAL IT'S BARE MINIMUM. BE AWARE OF ADDITIONAL COST! YOU MAY NEED TO BUY 3RD PARTY SOFTWARE AND BOOKS SINCE OFFICIAL MANUAL AND WEB SIDE DON'T GIVE ALL INFORMATION YOU NEED TO PLAY SUCCESSFULLY AND ENJOY GAME. I have a cable modem and PII 350 cpu 128 RAM but connection so bad I couldn't connect for a week! To close to me server on east cost! I play on German shard for same time but connection became so bad that I had to stop and Origin refuse to move me to other shard. It's just too much problems to enjoy this game.

Here's your chance. To become part of a growing universe of the alter-ego's.

You can have many different characters, on a variety of servers..Which in turn = major diversity and opportunity.

This is all about living another 'hero, thief, warlock, average joe' life..and its done well. Down to the details: writing a book, cooking food, making clothes, working for a living, buying a house, slaying monsters, finding treasure...the list goes on.

Its also a beautiful reminder of the many Ultima games that graced the software age. Buy this game and leave your regular for awhile. It's like a vacation from you...

(also recommended, Ultima Collection)

Having problems sleeping? Try this game.

I purchased Ultima Online because I was very bored with Diablo and Baldur's gate. I have been waiting several months now for Diablo 2, which blizzard can't seem to get released which is really pi$$ing me off, but that's another story. Anyway, I started playing U.O. and thought that it was really an awesome game. If you overlook the sub-standard graphics the game is kind of cool. I got some armor, better weapons and went off into the woods. About 10 minutes later some jerk killed me for no reason. This is pretty much the way things go in the UO world. I guess if you take 4 months of steady play, about 40 hours a week of character developement you MIGHT make grandmaster level and actually be able to do something. If you like repeating the same task over and over for about 4 months then this game is for you. However, if you like a fast paced game where you can actually accomplish something in a couple of weeks and don't fall asleep at the keyboard then don't buy this boring piece of something other than software. Nice going origin, way to make a game that really SUCKS! Maybe next time you could make the game take a full year of character developement before you can actually play it. In a nutshell this game is for a bunch of 10 year old pre-pubescent computer geeks that get off on who can kill more people and who's house is bigger.

This game gets very addictive once you start it. I will have to admit that when you begin your start in this great Fantasy world that it seems like you're not going to get anywhere, but that isn't true. Keep playing, you will get it eventually, and then its great!

You can choose to have your character do over many, many things. You can be a swordsman, or a blacksmith, tinkerer, or perhaps a fisherman. You may choose an artist, or a musician. Or maybe you can be a theif or a cold blooded killer. The fun can never end. If you start to get bored after awhile, start something new! Be something else, explore new cities. Play on new shards, meet new people. This game goes on forever!

To give you an example, here is what im like in the game... My hometown is Vesper, where I began playing. I started out as a swordsman and faught smaller creatures. Got gold, but not too much. Then I decided I needed more and became a Carpenter, cutting down trees and making shields and furniture then selling them to make a profit. Then I made a blacksmith to help in on the money. Now I am a Grand Master blacksmith, and a master miner. I mine different minerals and make items of weapons and armor. This is the kind of things you can do in this game! Become famous and kind like the way I did. Or do evil crimes and murder people and have a bad reputation. Its up to you! Its in your hands!

I recommend buying this game! You'll have fun, trust me. =)

ultimo better than cosrin?

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 2 / 7

well it is took a great deal of thought but alas the material thought of money and cost soon overthrew my decision... cosrin in my thought is still the best game for dedicated roleplay although textbased it provides a great deal of flexibility and adverseness like limitless description's where as most visual-based games have only certain graphix you must use in creating the appearance of your persona. but the cost for keeping the cosrin gate open is high and do indeed wish that the cist was less and fixed like that of ultimo but unlike cosrin ultimo costs alot less than cosrin and there for is more popular and for the beginer ultimo is the best game for you and the more visual-based people must reguard it as a great game and a must buy. not to say i dont like it i think it is great and a huge world to discover unlike cosrin wich consists of only one island and usually is inhabbited by no more than 40 or so adventuerers at a time but still the fact of price arose and forced me (very reluctantly) to give up cosrin and go onward to the more affordable games such as ultimo this here is my name within the lands of ultimo and should be heeded as a great assassin and thief extrordinair

this game is classic when it comes to role playing. You are part pf the town, the forest and the world. Everything you do is what makes up your online home, and it takes lots of time and effort to even build up that skill level enough to be great. It's hard work, but in the end it pays off and you get to do some really cool stuff! hehehe. I play on Napa Valley, and I belong to the guild RFO
