Harvest Moon 64 is the BEST!

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 5 / 5
Date: July 27, 2006
Author: Amazon User

I have played this game over and over and I am still not tired of it! I would give this game more the five stars if I could!

The amazing thing about this game is that you can do anything you want. You are not "required" to stick to any certain thing! In a lot of ways this game is like real life. ... True, not everything in the game is perfect, there are minor glitches and such. But what game doesn`t have those?!?

So your wondering what this game is all about? Don`t worry, I`ll tell you.

The game starts when your Grandpa dies and you want to take over his farm. After getting permission from you dad to take over his farm, you will wake up to your first day.

POINT OF THE GAME = To try and have the most complete game possible.

To have the "perfect" game you will need to get all these things before your 3rd year at the farm:

1. You will need to buy and take care of lots of animals on your farm. You can raise cows, sheep, and chickens.

2. You will need to grow crops of different kinds. You can grow: Tomatoes, corn, potatoes, turnips, cabbage, eggplants, and strawberries. ... You will also need to grow lots of grass and flowers.

3. Do a lot of fishing. You can fish at the river, lake, or ocean.

4. Make friends with ALL the villagers by giving them gifts and going to all the festivals.

5. Win over your favorite girl, marry her, and have a child. There are 5 eligible girls you can marry.

6. Have all the home extensions and add-ons. The Kitchen, bathroom, baby bed, cabinets, ect...

7. Gather all of the recipes the villagers will give you.

8. Have all the pictures in your photo album that are taken at different events or festivals.

9. Make sure your horse and dog win the races and get gold metals.

10. Have all 10 "power berries". (They give you more stamina during the day.)

If you can manage to do everything listed above and more, when your dad comes by on Summer of your 3rd year, he will hold a party at your house and you will get the legendary "party picture". If you can get this picture in your photo album then that is something to be proud of! It is very hard to get this picture.

...Sounds boring? It`s not! There are so many hidden secrets and little surprises that you will never run out of things to do. True, this game is not for everyone. Some people love it, some don`t like it at all. There is no shooting or violence and it not flashy or attention getting. But it is enchanting and can be a lot of fun.

So if you want a game that is different from the run-of-the-mill, get this one. I would recommend this game to anyone, anywhere from the ages: 7 and up. Just remember, there are TONS of little secrets that will keep you busy for hours!

Great RPG / Sim !

This is an awesome game with marvelous graphics, superb comtrols, and best of all, fun game play. I don't know whether to consider this an RPG or a sim, because it combines elements of both, but lacks a battle mode and isn't linear, so it can really be considered a "Life Sim". This game is great fun for all ages and becomes very addictive once you get the farm running. The only reason I didn't give this game a perfect 5 is the translation. The Japanese to English translation was done very poorly and grammatical errors are found throughout the game. For example, on the opening screen, instead of "Push Start" it says "Push the Start". This is only one of many mistakes. Don't get me wrong, I love this game, and the bad English and the fact that some parts can get a little dragged out are really its only weaknesses. Final word: Buy this game.

This is a game that starts out a little slow. But gets so envolving you will not want to stop. You can grow several different types of crops. Such as corn, turnips, tomatoes, and cabbage. Just to name a few. You can raise sheep, cows, horses, chickens, and even your dog. There are five women whom you can date, marry, and even have a child with. But there other men to compete against. There are a lot of people whom you can interact with. If you buy only one game for the Nintendo 64 I whould buy this one.

Harvest Moon is a fun game where you're racing the clock as well as horses and dogs in the local festivals and events. This game teaches some what responsibility in raising animals, crops, and even a family on your grandfather's old and run-down farm. In this game you make friends and enemies and you can even have a wife and child of your own. There are many different sences such as the mountains where you can fish and gather plants, to the beach where you can fish and swim, to the town square were you can buy seeds and animals. I hope you have fun playing Harvest Moon!

Can't stop playing this game. The options for play are endless, the graphics clear and fun to watch, and the music is not intrusive. If you like to play a game that has NO violence but is a game that an adult enjoys, come on down to the farm!

No game for lazy people.

It's fun, but it's extreamley hard. The online thing said ages 5-20.I disagree. There are many things in there 5 year olds shouldn't learn about.Like drinking, and i'm not talking O.J. Also the wooing element.I had to look that one up in the dictionary. Also a 5 year old would get stressed out at it.I recomend it for ages 10-199.The idea of the game is to get a good rating when your father comes by at the end of the third Spring.Be nice to everyone.Even me and Gray are friends on the game now.Aside farm working there are 5 Beutiful (My favorites Karen)Young ladies to Woo.After you get more money and wood, you'll want to buy attachments to your house. After you buy all the attachments youll have one big party. The five young girls are Karen,Eli,Maria,Popuri, and Ann.Over all i give it a I love the game.

What A Game!!!

This game is very fun and cool!!! It has so many things to do like marry one of five girls: Karen works at the bar, and is the winemakers daughter, Popuri the Florist's daughter (who I married), Elli her family owns a bakery, Ann her family owns a ranch with lots of animals, and Maria she works at the library, and her father is the mayor. A little while after you marry you will have a child. There are many events each season such as the Egg Festival, where you have to find the colored egg the mayor shows you, Thankgiving where you get to give and receve cake, pie, or cookies, and horse and dog racing, where you get to enter your horse or dog and bet on other horses and dogs, you can bet on all of them if you like. Some people who got it say you can only play it to your second or third year, but I have been on for nine years!!! (The days are really short) It seems to end but you just have to wait through all the credits and you will be playing again, it's that simple. The worst thing that happened to me was, when a twister took my greenhouse off my land. But hey that was just my luck, it doesn't mean it will happen to you or anybody else. I kept on playing because I knew I could build it back, and I did. There is also much more to do and see than what I have told you so please get this game. If you're like me then you will stay at it for hours!!! It's that fun!!! But if you like games with violence and gore, then go find yourself a new game, and hope that it's as fun as this!!! :)
