Played Demo... terrible PORT!

I read some of the reviews on here, and thought I'd d/l the demo and check it out. WHAT A WASTE... this game is a terrible port from all the crappy consoles out there. If they could of made it with the PC in mind, it probably would of been much better. The biggest problem is that the camera is locked into pre-determined locations, making it impossible to control your character and see what's coming up behind you. Because of the upteen-billion buttons that consoles use, you have to contort yourself to use all the different attacks. (why do we need 4 different kinds of attacks? One would do just nicely if it actually killed guys effectively. None of the four attack modes really kill guys, you have to use 2 or 3 combos of attacks) The graphics are status quo at best, being completely toned down for the console machines.

PLEASE MAKE GAMES OR THE PC and THEN retard them for the horrible console technology out there!

Hope this helps... oh and beware of marketing interns writing these things...

DO NOT BUY THIS GAME!!!!

I won't get into a battle with words here. Let me kep it simple.

PC GAMER magazine gave this game a rating of 58% out of 100%. That is bad!!!
Let me quote some lines from their review in the January 2004 issue.
" Frustrating camera controls, not enough diversity in character play styles, disappointing failure, stupidly difficult"
Need anyone say anything more? Don't listen to the reviews that gave this high marks. They are LOTR extremists - the same guys that go to Star Trek conventions all dressed up like Kirk or Picard!!!

First of all, most of the guys that gave this game 5 stars wrote reviews before the game was even released!!!! Second, most of them admit they have not even played the game!!! They just love LOTR. Ok..so do I, but don't go suckering some people into blowing their hard earned dollars...

Are the graphics good in this game...YES. They are truly outstanding and unbelievable!! That is all the nice things I have to say about this game.

The game play is terrible. You have to fight in 360 degrees which means that the enemies are between you and your guy. You cannot even see what your doing!!! Oh by the way, you cannot quick save. You can only save at the end of the level! Generally this is fine by me, but since this game is so hard and camera angles constantly make your life miserable....you absolutely need to be able to Quick Save!!!!

THE ABSOLUTE WORST THING OF ALL - THE CUT-SCENES!!!!!!
ELECTRONIC ARTS force you to watch all the cut-scenes. NO SKIPPING THEM!!!! And some of them are over 5 minutes long!

Here is how the game starts - You have to go through all the production credits from EA Games, among others...get through the horrible THX ear blowing intro and about 3 other stupid intros...then the first cut scene happens - this one alone is about 5 minutes of scenes from the last movie. Then you get dumped into the game in the ehat of battle. Talk about confusing as all heck!

Guess what...if you screw up the game or just want to start over...you have to sit through the credits and all of the games cut scenes all over again!!!!!! NO CHOICE!!!!!!!!

Thanks a lot EA GAMES!!! You milked the MOH franchise to death and ruined what could have been great and now you are just out to milk money from the LOTR saga.

I played this game through all the way. I normally would want to play a game all over again. Not this time!!!!!!!

Borrow a copy from a friend or at the very least, download them demo and try it out before you buy!!!!!!!!!!

Hey if you don't believe me...read the comments in some of the LOTR game forums out there! MANY, MANY other people that own this game will agree with me 100%!!!

Send EAGAMES a message, send them some e-mail and tell them to allow skipping past cut scenes, send them a message and skip this game.

Trust me, your money is better spent else where...

Get Halo, GTA:Vice City, Medal of Honor, or BloodRayne which is a blast and sells for less.

A WASTE OF MONEY

The controls are terrible. They didn't do a good port to the PC. I would give it zero stars if I could.

Spent 40 dollars on this game. Get it home, wait a HALF AN HOUR for it to install itself... only to get an error message. Even though on the back of the box, it said you should have a 32 MB graphics card, which I have, it turns out my card isn't good enough, and the jerks at EA games want me to shell out a hundred bucks for a new one. Would have been nice if they warned me BEFORE I spent all the time and money on it. To be fair, there were some types of cards listed below the 32 meg requirement, but I figured they were just examples, and the 32 meg was what mattered. STUPID EA GAMES! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY ON THIS GARBAGE! EVEN IF YOU THINK YOU HAVE A PRETTY DESCENT COMPUTER, THERE IS A GOOD POSSABILITY THIS TRASH WON'T WORK! thank you.

A ridiculous & disappointing experience

We bought this game for our son, who has an affinity for these types of hack-and-slash games, only to discover that the game won't run. This is a brand new computer, with more than plenty of hard drive space & RAM to spare, with a 64mb graphics card. Unfortunately, there are only TWO graphics cards that this game will recognize. You can have the most powerful card in the world, and if it isn't NVIDIA or ATI Radeon, you are out of luck.

Do we want to blow $100-$150 installing a new graphics card, all for the sake of one lousy game, especially one that has gotten the mixed reviews that this game has? I really don't think so. We have never had any problems with any other programs we have installed on this system. The idea that I need to drag a brand new computer back in for an upgrade just strikes me as ridiculous. This game's designers need to be more flexible when configuring the system requirements.

Our son never got to play this game, but I know that he would have been driven crazy by the lack of a quick-save feature. Once again, the game's designers display a profound lack of flexibility. They must live in some fantasy world where people have all day to kill, slogging through an entire level before being able to save the game. Get real folks.

We have a couple of other EA games, and I have generally been lukewarm about what are obviously console games that have been reconfigured for a PC in a sometimes slap-dash manner. This most recent, very disappointing experience leaves me extremely reluctant to purchase any EA products in the future.

Be careful!

Very disappointing! If you buy this game make sure you read other reviews and go to the official website first! No where on the box description of requirements does it state that you need one of two specific video cards in your computer! It does say you need a 3D card with 32 MB - But it should also say on the box that you need one of two specific chipsets for your video card! It did not say that on the box I bought! Now I have a game that I cannot play! Trust me if you do not have a NVIDIA GeForce2 GTS or greater or ATI Radeon 7500 or greater chipset - it will not play! I have tried everything! In Amazon's requirements it does mention it but I did not come here first! I will next time!

REQUIRES 32MB AGP Graphics Card!

I know others have mentioned it, but I spent about an hour before leaving work looking for system requirements. They weren't listed on the official site, Amazon, and any other major electronics retail outlets sites. So I figured my recently purchased laptop would be sufficient. Shelled out my bucks, got the game, started loading it and saw the Video Card requirements. Nothing in the install mentioned it or tested for it. The install took 45+ min (2 discs!). Only when you try to start the game does it check your video card and fail. Wouldn't even start! So I can't review it. I can't even play it!
I've played the Two Towers game on Playstation2 and this was supposed to be better. I was hoping to play it on my PC, but I guess I'll wait. (Sigh!)

Couldn't even play the game

This game seems really cool, but unfortunately my video card is not up to date. I just bought a brand new computer last year with the latest technology, but apparently it's not advanced enough for this game.

Make sure you have the system requirements before buying this game!!!

I cand belibe it

Dis is stupid. mi computer is not good enough to run this video. they did not say I would need a cd-whatever drive. All i have is a floppy drive. other then not having the cd, my computer is really high tech. My cousin said it is the newest technology. It has 23 mb of harddrive. and 16 mb of ramm. I can't believe it. Do not buy if even the newest and best computer can not play it.

This Game Sucks.

I played the game for the PC. I disliked it. It was really repetitive and boring. I wasn't having fun at all. I decided to uninstall it. It deleted everything in the folder in which it was installed. This included 3 GB of valuable files that had taken me a long time to acquire. Not only did the game suck, but the uninstall program sucked even more! I know that's hard to believe, but believe me. Don't get this game, but if its too late for that, don't install it because if you ever take the program down, it will bring others along. If its installed already, you're stuck with it forever, unless you want to lose valuable programs as well. Nice going EA Games.
