We bought a Wii back in September, and were looking through some of the "Best of 2007" lists for new games. To my surprise, WarioWare: Smooth Moves made the list. I read up about the game and was intrigued enough to put it on my wishlist. I am by no means a serious gamer - I gravitate toward Nintendo specifically for the reasons hard core gamers avoid it. I like cutesy graphics and silly fun - that to me is what makes a game. WarioWare is excellent. It makes me laugh, between the anime style cut scenes and the silly moves you have to do (quick, saute the veggies, hula hoop, etc). I think the greatest part of the game may be the sheer entertainment value of watching someone ELSE play - my almost 4-year old son stops what he's doing to come sit and watch. On a whim, one evening I handed him the remote and let him try the first level. To my surprise, he made it through with no help!
This game represents the best of the Wii - quick games that make excellent use of motion control, and the ability to bring a group of all ages together with a smile.
One of the best party games for the Wii!

This game is one of the best party games available for the Wii. The game is specially designed to exploit the Wii motion sensing remotes and no other game does it as good as this one. The story line and the games are totally wacky and hilarious. This is a game for all ages and is a 'must-have' for Wii parties.
WarioWare Smooth Moves, skip it altogether, or prepare to be disappointed, I'd give it zeros stars if I could

I have no idea who this game is designed for or why it some people are giving it good reviews. If I had purchased this game instead of renting it, I would have immediately been looking for a buyer. Like other reviewers have pointed out, the minigames are extremely simple and pointless. Shake the remote like a salt shaker, wow, you're on to the next game. Flip an imaginary pancake. Wow, next game. Point it like a flashlight...wow... Got it? Don't get it!
If you compare this game to Rayman Raving Rabids, Excite Truck, Zelda Twilight or Tony Hawk Downhill you will see a huge difference in level of design, imagination, ingenuity, graphics, forethought, programming, etc. The only thing this game has going for it is hype and a name people recognize.
True to Warioware Series

Smooth Moves is very quirky and does not make much logical sense. It has an abstract Japanese style to it with silly anime cutscenes before each series of microgames. Yet this newest installment of the Warioware series is merely staying true to its strangely entertaining roots.
The single player game on Smooth Moves is very short. It only really takes 3 hours to beat the whole game, but after doing so you unlock 2 multiplayer games; darts and the classic Wario Ware game. After you play each of those games once, you unlock other multiplayer games. In the end, I think there are 8 multiplayer games, some of them better than others. There are also some additional single player minigames to be unlocked such as brick tennis, a balloon capturing flying game, target-shooting, brick balance, etc. They are all pretty fun in my opinion, though graphically they take a very minimal, 2D approach.
If you're looking for a graphically enhanced single player game, stay far away from Smooth Moves. However, if you enjoy a wacky party game and want to experience the different ways a Wiimote can be used, Smooth Moves may be a good buy.
Worthy addition to a great series

Im a huge fan of warioware, and this game certinly isnt a letdown. You use thw wii-mote to do all kinds of crazyness. Many members of the warioware cast are here. Wario, Mona, Jimmy, 9-volt and their friends all appear here. Some new people are here too, like Jimmy P., Penny, and Young Cricket all make their first appearence.
You have to hold the wii-mote a different way for each game. For example, holding it sideways is called, 'boxer' and holding it like a pencil is 'sketch artist.' Before each game, they tell you how to hold it. This however does not interupt the gameplay at all.
Another cool part is the inclusion of miis. In one game, for example, your mii must arm wrestle another mii. Kind of cool.
My friends complain its too hard to figure out what you have to do in each game. But its easy to figure it out if you actually *gasp* USE YOUR BRAIN! you may not beat a level the first time through, but once you get used to it, you'll do fine.
This makes a great party game. It has multiplayer, in which you pass around the wii-mote and take turns playing. Also, when your friends aren't playing, you get to laugh at them. Lots of fun for everyone!
Way overhyped

I cant believe how much hype this game is getting and all the good reviews. Luckily I rented this game before I went out and bought and im sure glad I did (saved myself 50$). This is probably the most boring game ive ever seen in my life. The graphics rival that of a super nes (and im not even joking). All you do for the entire game is constantly do 3-4 second mini"games" that are childish at best. I cant remember the last time i've been more disapointed in a game that received such good reviews. I seriously recommend anyone interested to pick it up a game rental place before you buy it.

The game is fun and has great music. Very short and leaves you sort of dry. A good rental, but for 50 beans, it is not, I repeat, Not worth it.
I love these quirky games. But truthfully, the wii remote is very innovative here. But, the GBA version has more replay value. I beat it in 2 hours or less, and, in one day.
Consider that is $25 an hour w/ no replay value. Renting for $8 bucks, not bad.
A great edition to the series! BUT COME ON!!! WAY TOO SHORT!

(I could be writing in the adult forum, but I'm too lazy)
I just recently got a wii and I immediately realized what I wanted most. I wanted warioware! Some people probably don't understand it, but I love it! (especially because I have a short attention span). I had played every other warioware game on every other console, and I knew that this would be a great addition. Within just 10 minutes, I had gotten the game, gotten home, and opened the package. On first glimpse, it seemed pretty easy, but then, when more positions come into play, the challenge ramps up. (never getting too challenging though.) The sheer randomness of the game play had me hooked from start to finish, which really wasn't that long. That is the only major flaw in the game. TOO SHORT. I heard myself saying, "WHAT? THAT'S IT?!!!!" Beside this, the only flaws are that sometimes the remote is inaccurate, and it was sometimes frustrating to lose a game for not knowing what to do. Overall, I had fun playing this game. I got me up off my seat like it promised (if only for a little while) delivered. I would definitely reccomend this game to anyone with a wii. And until the next installment in the series, I will be praying that the next game will be longer.

If there is one redeeming value for gaming I must say it is the fact that some games are designed to be played while standing up. In short this is the essence of the Wii (although stand-up games like DDR and Guitar Hero are available for other consoles). Seeing my son jumping up and down and doing some crazy moves makes me want to give this 5 stars for anti-obesity.
This game is awful.

Good grief, I can't believe anyone likes this terrible game.
Bought this game for our daughter. She's young, so we were trying to get her some hand eye coordination experience that this game promised. Like holding a broom in the palm of your hand, but with the wii remote. Or pumping up a balloon with the remote held horizontal.
Well the format this game presents all of this is a horrible, not so fun house of adolescent graphics (they are awful!) -- & in a relatively cold and scary presentation too.
You also can't do all of the "forms" -- like holding the broom -- until you have progressed through the ridiculous game itself and encountered it.
And some of the "forms" the game forces you through are tasteless and just downright junk... like picking a nose (again with graphics like I draw on a piece of paper) ... or "shooing" a bunch of undiscernable images with a stinky skunk on the end of a stick (you just wave the remote like nuts and they all go away ... just ridiculous).
We still love our wii ... the sports games are great. Let's hope the games these guys develop get held up to the same standard of excellence the base system has ... the other games being sold separately so far look cheap and horrible.
