Classic

This is by far one of the best xbox games ever made. It is the most overlooked game ever as well. It features insane sports action along with fighting and platforming. The swearing is abseloutely great, and uterly hilarious to listen to. As far as fighting goes, the violence is very mild. I don't know why everyone says it's ultra violent because it isn't. The violence is similar to a fighting game such as Virtua Fighter 4. The blood is not a big deal either. You see little drops of it but it's definately nothing to get bent out of shape about. The ability to play with friends on and/or offline is excellent. Online gameplay is via gamespy tunnel, which means xbox live is unneeded. Overall, I really like this game, because it requires a lot of strategy, and keeps the adrenaline pumping from beginning to end. A must buy.

A Note on System Linking

For those of you who like to system link there is one point that I'd like to point out because it hasn't been explicitly done in other reviews. You can play 8 player games on either two Xboxes (4 players per box) or on 8 Xboxes (1 player per box). I am not sure about 2 on 4 boxes or other combinations (If someone else knows please inform us), but if I had to guess I would say you probably could.

I have had this game for ages and the people I introduce it to... they cant get enough of it, you can play lan or do some split screen action , but long story short, It's basically combining every single sport Imaginable into one Arena where anything goes.
I'm not a big sports fan, but man when It comes to this I hope to see this become a real sport in the Future.
Anyone who owns an X-box owes it to at least try this game , you can even put your customizeable soundtracks on it... What else do you want , its violent, its got cursing, so no babies allowed .
>:D

Best damn game out there!

I just bought my XBox and was looking for some good games. I went to a site that rated them and found this one on there w/ a 9.6 out of 10 rating. So I went around to various places looking for the game, nobody had it. Found a recon one online and bought it. Just like other reviewers say about this game, once you start to play...you CAN'T STOP! This is truly one of the most addicting games I have ever played. The best part is when you completely wipe out other teams that are "bad ... Marines" or "Jail hardened convicts", etc. One note, LOTS OF FOUL LANGUAGE! Not for the kiddies.

It's basketball/lacrosse from HELL!

I spotted this game about three weeks ago, I'd never even heard of it before!

Boy, am I glad I picked it up! It's turned out to be the biggest surprise of my collection. Yes, you can even use your own ripped tunes for the soundtrack!

The game is basically a basketball/lacrosse/frisbee game straight outta hell! It's a no rules, no refs, & no holds barred bloodbath from start to finish.

My sole complaint is that I can't make my own team. I would have loved to have made a team based off of Houston (Rollerball).

Buy this game! It's definitely worth the price tag!

Fight club meets arena sport

I agree with the other reviewers, possibly one of the sleeper hits of the year. If you like swearing, gratuitous violence, and fast paced action, this is your game. They should have made it an x-box live game.

Speedball, its NOT!!!

I was hoping for a modern variant of the clasic Speedball series. This game is not even close. The scrolling of the arena is pathetic, making it difficult to keep track of the disc. It takes more than the 10 hours I played to get a grasp on the physics and how you need to counter other the players moves.

I don't recommend this for anyone but hard core gamers.

Chris's Game Reviews 5: Deathrow is unbelievable!

Deathrow is the coolest sports game of all time! It's virtual reality high-action. You can pass the ball to others and shoot in the portal. Hint: Once you've scored, you might wanna have another player on the other side to score again! It's really cool and my favorite team is the Nukeheads. I always beat the Crushers and I just beat the Sea Cats not too long ago. You have to sub player sometimes and if you're playing split screen, you might wanna have 1 person go around and injure players and have another guard the goal. I really suck at it but I'm getting better. I would like anyone that lives in VA, to come to my joint and play it with me. See what happens! I'll probably do Blinx next and look for my guide Christopher Williams's Holiday Guide 2002.

A disappointment

After reading the reviews of this game at sites such as gamespot I couldn't wait to get my hands on it. Unfortunately the reviews did not do the game justice as I was extremely disappointed.

The problems with the game are as follows.

The computer controls to much of the game. Many times you will win, or lose, a game and not realize exactly why.

The graphics are poor. That's not to say that they are Kabuki warriors poor but they are definitely not what you would expect from an Xbox game.

The camera is cumbersome. Because of the size of the game board as well as the speed the games moves out many times you are not sure where the disc is. Additionally, by the time you find it the computer, or one of your teammates has already scored.

The game is a very cool concept and could be better but they need to slow it down as well as vastly improve the graphics and the AI so that the player can make the difference in the game.
