A Good Budget Game

3 Rating: 3, Useful: 15 / 17
Date: March 27, 2008
Author: Amazon User

Mercury Meltdown Revolution is a puzzle game with a simple concept, but one that requires a fair amount of skill to unlock all of the bonus material.

You control a glob of Mercury and use one of the several control schemes (Wiimote, Classic Controller etc) to tilt the screen in order to manipulate the glob.

Every challenge has a Goal that must be reached within the time limit. However things get complicated as you must frequently use items found on each level to change the color and texture of your glob to make it to the finish line.

This is a game that will certainly make you think, and ocassionally make you scratch your head. While there are some multiplayer features that get unlocked as you progress, the main gem of this game is in the single player quest.

Overall this game will not stand up to the visual rivals of the "other" Next Gen systems, however its cartoon-ish style works well within this context. The game is easy to pick up and play and offers a great deal of satisfaction with its 130+ levels.

This is a great buy for anyone looking to round out their Wii library, and at a [...] it won't hurt you wallet.

If you like puzzle games that require you to think a bit then this one is fun! Also takes some good reflexes and precise control of the wiimote.

I bought this along with Kororinpa and I really do like both. My friends think this one take a little too much thinking to be casual though :)

Amazing game for improving concentration & patience and practice the wii controls!

I must say I bought this game today based on all of your reviews, thank you to those of you who were honest about this game, really helpful. I never buy games before reading reviews here on Amazon. The back of the game case obviously doesn't tell you about the game's flaws.

This game is very very very challenging. And it does require a ton of focus, patience and concentration. But the wii controls are incredible. It's so percise and doesn't take long to get used to. There is a lot of imagination in this game and a lot of creativity as well. Every level is so different from one another and it definitely keeps you hooked for a long time.

I'm very glad I bought this game, it's one of those "chill" games for when you're tired of all the sports games and just feel like sitting comfortably on your couch moving the wii remote.

I took off one star for this game because of the graphics, I have a 47" HD LCD and it looks REALLY pixelated and just in general the graphics are very mediocre and poor quality. I guess this game is all about the actual game play. But in all seriousness, for 19.99, i don't really care about that aspect! If you're a fan of interactive puzzle games that stimulate logic, this is definitely for you! I can't wait to try others like this.

Worth the money.

I bought this game after seeing an ad for it in a magazine. The ad said that it was a bargain at the price it was listed at and that it is a great puzzle game. I have to agree. This game is a lot of fun bringing back memories from the first mercury game on the PSP and also taking me way back to the days of marble madness. This is a fun game that has pretty good graphics and has a good look and good control with the Wii remote. I would recommend this game, especially for the price.

If You Like Puzzle and Maze Games, You'll Love This

If you like puzzle and maze games, you'll love this. It does a very good job with the Wii remote as a leveler for the tables, and has some very interesting variations that will make you think to solve. The physics looks realistic to me.

If you want a video game that actually challenges your brain while being fun to play, this is a good one for you OR your kids.

The price is hard to beat, as well.

I bought this for my 9 year-old grandson because it was listed in the brain (educational) group. He couldn't believe it was a learning game when I told him. It's so much fun, he said. He likes games that take strategy and thought. Trying to beat the mercury is great.

My daughter told me that it also become the favorite game of his 12 year-old sister and her friends.

A fun puzzle game

I came in knowing almost nothing about this game and thinking its a good price and i need another Wii game that takes advantage of the Wii mote and my sisters can play I'll try this one out.

I was pleasantly surprised.

This is one of those games in which you sit down thinking, "I'm going to play for fifteen minutes", and then two hours later you are still playing and thinking i just need to beat one more level it will only take thirty seconds more.
It reminds me of some of the old school puzzles games that have a simple concept but are lots of fun (IE Tetris, Dr. Mario Chu Chu Rocket).
It is an easy to learn, hard to master kind of game with great replay value
the only down side is that none of the party games are as good as the main game.

I definitely recommend this game for novice and masters alike.

pretty fun, worth $20

i've played this game for a couple hours now and it is pretty fun. reminds me of the old "marble madness" game, but with an updated feel and technology. it gets pretty difficult, so it isn't a super easy game that you'll blow thru in minutes. it's a good level of challenge.

Not for the color blind

I love mind puzzler type games and this was recomended to me.

I got through the tutorial fine and it was fun. But once I started playing the game I started having trouble. You have to get the blob certain colors and I am color blind and it was too difficult.

If you are color blind or have trouble matching colors this game isn't for you. However, if you don't have that problem, this game should be a blast.

Fun for All

I find this game fun and challenging for those of us over 45. Kids will enjoy the challenge too. Not the action, kill games we don't our children participating in. This is a fun game.
