Awsome Game

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 2 / 5

This game has an awsome plot that is full of surprises. It won't be able to guess what is coming (unless you already found out from some where else). This game has good graphics, and good gameplay. It's combat design is excelent, and the level designs are really good. The controls (like any game) take some time to get used to, but if you are a compitent learner, by mid-game (at the latest) the controls will feel as natural as walking. I especially like the game concept. I'm going to go now, so I can buy the next one (Prince of Persia: Warrior Within) and pre-order Prince of Persia 3.

PS- You will love the ending.

Wonderfully Brilliant

A beautiful princess and a handsome prince thrown into an adventure, bickering all the way, to right a wrong and save a crumbling kingdom. Throw in an evil Vizier lusting for immortality, wonderfull graphics, facinating soundtrack, absolutely cool action.... shake well and you have Prince of Persia Sands of Time. A must have for all true Gamers, prince of persia fans and not alike. Hopefully they'll come out with a sequel.

PC Gamer Review A Little Off Mark

I think PC Gamer gave this game a 79%, citing poor controls and difficult combat. I normally agree with their reviews, but think they were off the mark this time - I would give it at least a 90% (and am glad I bought it before the review came out).

I am a casual (older) gamer who usually plays FPS or Tactical Shooters. I liked the first Tomb Raider, but not enough to play the sequels. I didn't have any problems enjoying this game and found the controls extremely intuitive, especially for an old codger such as myself.

I will say flat out that this is one of the most memorable game experiences I have ever had. It takes interactive storytelling and a level of immersion to the next level. If you can think back to the first time you played Half-Life... it's that kind of epiphany as to the power of the medium and where the medium could go.

I have an older system (PIII 933MHz w/ GeForce 4 Ti 4200) - the game looked beautiful, had an awesome soundtrack, and ran without a hitch.

If you're looking for something different - buy this game. I know I'll be buying any sequel.

It's the best!

Prince of Persia is the best game I've played. Although I didn't like the way the camera moved when I was trying to do stuff (died a bunch because of this), I still enjoyed it. It's the kind of game you want to play again just to see if you'd missed anything. I have played it four times already. The combat is great. You have lots of ways to fight. You can just attack or you can vault over creatures or jump off of walls into them or jump off walls over them. You can freeze time or rewind time. There's even a love interest, if you're into that kind of thing. I really think that you should buy this.

Fairly unique

This is an interesting game with great environments and atmosphere. It has the feel of a 3-D platformer so having a decent game controller pad greatly enhances the enjoyment of the game.

It is OK I guess

It is challenging in parts, but just a bit too mechanical, and I want more story. Other games were move riveting and make you feel you have to play until the end, you always want to see what happens next. This Game however turns out to be more of a chore, first navigate this room, then the next room, then the next zzzzz.. On the plus side.. the graphics look good..

Haunting Music

This game was a kick! I suck at "twitchy" games, but I completed this game before hubby did. Fighting is fluid and intuitive. Jumping puzzles are just difficult enough without being frustrating.

The only reason I gave it an overall rating of less than five is there is a battle near the middle that will make your fingers fall off from repeating it 20-30 times. I also found a bug (!!!) on this Xbox title, which is inexcusable. Fortunately it only affects you if you save in a specific room at a specific time, causing the princess to not come do her part at the beginning of the section. I went back to a previous save and it worked well after that.

The graphics are beautiful, animations fluid and realistic, and the music is a haunting palette of sound. If not for the two minor glitches/annoyances above, I'd give it the highest rating.

System Requirements Warning

WARNING. Unless you already have a great graphics card in your system be prepared to spend $100 to $400 to be able to play this game. Yes, the video card requirements are listed in the fine print and they are truly required. Unlike many games, this one won't run unless you have one of the chipsets listed in the requirements. It supports a grand total of two chipsets, so really check out your system before you buy this. They won't allow a return, so your stuck. UBIsoft's tech support consisted of a 'tooooo bad'. I

AMAZING GAME...U JUST NEED 1 TYPE OF FIGHTING SKILL TO KILL

4 Rating: 4, Useful: 2 / 10

Well first of all the game is really good......graphics, sound, fight .......its a great game

MANY PEOPLE DONT LIKE TO PLAY THE GAME AS THE FIGHTING CAN BE TOUGH.......WELL THE REASON PEOPLE FEEL IT IS TOUGH IS BECAUSE THEY TRY TO USE THE VARIOUS SKILLS LIKE WALL CLIMBING AND THEN KILLING.....OR LIKE JUMPING ON TOP AND THEN KILLING.....

--------------YOU DONT NEED ANY OF THESE-----------------------
1. First of all to defeat the various enemies...just keep running around and away and when get a chance just charge and kill anyone you feel is looking away or is on the side....SIMPLE KILL........NO WALL.....NO SUMERSAULT......this way you can kill all..

2. There are parts in the game where you are standing in front of the door and get attacked once you are inside the room....TO KILL THEM----if go in and let the enemey come toward you and then go back to the door.....the enemy will not go back with you.......as soon as you see that the enemy has turned its back go and kill...follow this procedure and you will eliminate all of them without giving in any fight

Well no wonder nothing can beat a human mind.......and actually make a super AI game......how good the company may be!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not ready for the PC

1 Rating: 1, Useful: 1 / 3

This was promoted for the consoles, where, I understand, it's supposed to be excellent. I haven't played it on a console. I play games on my computer and always have. I played the first two POP games there, as well as the original versions before them.
This game is simply not ready for the PC. It is all but unplayable. Aside from a really anoying savegame system, the ridiculous controls make playing the game all but undoable. You are bombarded with foes from all angles, these are battles which, due to the PC game's inability to let you do anything other than slash blindly away, you cannot win. Enemies come out of nowhere, they reconsitute, more and more of them appear and you're stuck waving your arms.
It ain't fun.
There's no patch to correct any of this either, you have to play the game AS IS.
At times when you have pay keen attention or get murdered, you cannot get the prince to go or do what you want, as when camera angles change suddenly, so do the keys you need to be pressing to move him around.
It is extremely aggravating and annoying.
When you die, no matter how close you are to a save point or how far you've already come with all of these ridiculous glitches, you're bounced to the beginning of the level again.
The game looks great, I stayed with it for a long time, trying to get something enjoayable out of it, but it was a complete waste of time.
Finally, in frustration, I just downloaded a batch of saved games and cycled through them, looking for snippets to play. If you've got a computer, I would avoid this at all costs.
