"Way to go, Naughty Dog!"

This one was much cooler than the first! Improved graphics, music and sound. There are many more Bonus Rounds which you can save on each time too! I think Naughty Dog did a really, really, really good job on this one. It was more adventurous and challenging than the first for sure. I got this one first for Christmas and I was like, "What is that orange thing on the cover?" And now, I can't stop! I would get this one for sure. I'm sure you'll love it-- I know I do!

Crash is still great!!!

Whoaa!!! This is one of those games that I play everyday, again, and again, and again. And I love it!! This is much better than the 1st because it`s not so difficault at all... except the "duels" with Tiny Tiger and Doctor N. Gin. But that`s just my thoughts...
When I`ve read reviews on the net, I thought that it not was so good at all, but then i bought it, and it was COOOL!!!!!!!!!
Naughty Dog is still one of the greatest!!!!!!!!!!
I hope that they continue to do the Crash Bandicoot games to PlayStation One!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Best Game Ever

This game has everything the first part lacked. It has even better graphics. This was the first one of the crash series I tried, and it was fun. Before that, I was hooked on fighting games, like street fighters, and tekken, but they are not that fun after playing it a 100 times or so. In this game you can spend as much time without losing interest.

It is, more or less, like the first part. There is aku-aku, boxes to crash, gems (more difficult), new bosses after each floor. And by the by, this game is divided into 5 floors, each floor with 5 doors, each door with a different adventure. You can finish the game, like I did the first time, without collecting gems, but it is not that fun. Hint: If you break all the boxes of one level you are rewarded a gem. There are hidden levels for some gems, you would have to consult the internet for it. Good luck in that.

In this part you can save after each level, it is easier in that respect. I find the gems easier to collect than in the first forbidding game. The designs of the adventure is by far better than the firs.

The story line is change a little bit. Instead of the "Pamela Anderson" of a lover Crash had, he gets a more geeky "Meg Ryan" of a sister. Dr Cortex is still missing things up. The assistant from the first part does not appear except when he tries to communicate Crash to warn him from Cortex. You want to know more? Get the gems first.

There is also a sixth hidden floor. You would have to reach it by a trick, and again check the net for that.

The game was the best I have ever tried. It makes my life harder, since I cannot find better games to play anymore. It will make you look for other adventures of Crash.

An EXCELLENT platformer.

Ah, Crash 2. One of my favorite games as a little kid. It's much better than the original.

GAMEPLAY: 27 levels, [2 hidden] 25 crystals, 42 gems, and a bunch of secrets! The warp room allows you to choose 5 levels at a time. There are many weird secrets. Like in the first level, once you get the regular gem, return to level one, and don't break ANY boxes. You will get the blue gem. Plus, you can save any time, unlike the original. And you don't have to not die to break all of the boxes.

GRAPHICS: Very good for a 1997 game. Everything looks great!

MUSIC/SOUND: The music is very catchy, and the voices are decent.

OVERALL: A great platformer for the Playstation! A must have!

PS: You CAN refight bosses. If you have beaten a boss, hold triangle while going to the next warp roomto fight him again!

three crystals you can only get in a special way!

The levels SNOW GO(Red Crystal), AIR CRASH(Boxes), and ROAD TO RUIN(Boxes)have crystals that you can only get in a special way.

1:SNOW GO-To get the red crystal on SNOW GO, you must go to another level first. Go to AIR CRASH. Go to the first surfboard, but don't get on it. There are boxes in the water. Jump on them forward until you get to an empty platform. Land on it and you will go to a secret world. Enter the secret portal called SNOW GO. You will enter another starting point in SNOW GO. Keep going and it will lead you to the red crystal.

2:AIR CRASH-To get the boxes on AIR CRASH, you must go to another level first. Go to the second bear level(I forgot the name). When you get to the Green "!" Box at the end of the level, go back to these little blue platforms in the water. Jump back from them till you get to a normal platform. Land on it and you will go to a secret world. Enter the secret portal called AIR CRASH. You will enter another starting point in AIR CRASH. Keep going and it will lead you to all the secret boxes.

3:ROAD TO RUIN-To get the boxes on ROAD TO RUIN, you must go to another level first. Go to DIGGIN IT. Keep going and eventually you will see a plant on a piece of land surrounded by a pit. Jump and smash the plant. Land on it and you will go to a secret world. Enter the secret portal called ROAD TO RUIN. You will enter another starting point in ROAD TO RUIN. Keep going and it will lead you to all the secret boxes.

I hoped this helped you. Right now, I'm at 97%. Could someone please tell me how to get all the boxes on COLD HARD CRASH?

Graphics: 8/10 - Really neat little things you might not notice. Sometimes a little too computerized, but still eye-catching.

Sound: 8/10 - Very much improved from the first Crash Bandicoot. When things hit the ground, they make a bang, when creatures talk it's amazingly clear and when you're in danger, you certainly know by the sound a creature is making, the rumbling of the ground or the thrilling score.

Value: 10/10 - This is one game you will start repeatedly and still have the same enjoyment level every time you play.

Overall: 9/10 - A big improvement from the great first game. Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back has it all - story, characters, levels and fantastically constructed colouring and visuals.

Even better.

Dear Buyer,
I have this game and it's great! The bosses (N'gin, Cortex, ect.) are quite challenging and so are most of the levels. I've wanted this game since I was 6 and I'm 10 now. So, if you want a great game, buy this one!!!

I am a Crash Bandicoot veteran. I've beaten every crash game out there, and I like the ones made by Naughty Dog. Anyway, I think Crash Bandicoot 2 is the best of all of the crash bandicoot adventure games I have played. The third one was good, but it was extremely difficult to beat some of the levels in the time trial tests. I'm looking at one and I say to myself:
2 minutes?! You've gotta be &!@$#*! me! ANYWAY, not to be sidetracked again, Crash Bandicoot 2 has some really good graphics for the playstation, and it really isnt that hard.
The only majorly difficult thing about it is, beating the game fully means getting all the gems, wich is really difficult. Some of the gems require smashing all of the crates in one level, and sometimes, some of the crates ends up being in a death gem part of the level. The one most difficult part of the game is, when you confront Cortex. Chasing somebody with jetpacs
in a tube in space sounds like an easy challenge, but, how about dodging explosives, and asteroids that slow you down a ton along the way? not to mention, you have to hit the big headed clown 3 times in a row before he gets to the end of the tunnel, or else you fail. But, beating all of these Crash games inspired me to go to the official Crash Bandicoot website, where the crazy people who made the crash games talk about it.
Here's a funny Crash Bandicoot secret they do before every game is made, and I'm going to say it the exact way they did:
When the Naughty Dog team helps us with our Crash Bandicoot games, they have been seen walking out of their work rooms taking too many breaks. So we decided to lock them up in their room until they finish making the models in the game. Eating time has also been arranged accordingly so that they wont stay out of their room after they eat, so they go on what we like to call the flat diet. That means any food that can be shoved under a door. that's right. That includes pancakes, waffles, Hamburgers, (one layer at a time) and yes, chicken. But it tastes horrible after all of the pushing and shoving. They say they're really thirsty too. And that's all they said. My review rates Crash Bandicoot 2 a really good game, and I'm just now giving this review to prove that old games still can be good.
