Good, but the original is better

This was a fun game and some of the puzzles were really tough. However, I found that they attempted to make the game easier for kids by adding spoken dialog.(hint- TURN THE VOCAL DIALOG OFF if you don't want to be annoyed!- there are 3 people who do ALL the voices, and they don't try to hide it very well) Another thing I found annoying was the music- anytime you came to the start of a new challenge, the music became VERY dramatic(drama-queenish)and then suddly reverts to a very subdued backtrack.
Overall, it's a fun game, the graphics are good, but TOMBA, the original game is MUCH better, and lasted a lot longer.

Awesome adventure game

This is the best adventure/action game ever. I love it. I was so sad when I beat it because I didn't want to start all over. Everyone who loves adventure and action should get Tomba 2. I don't have Tomba, the first one, but I want to get it soon. Tomba is the coolest character of all time. Tomba 2 is my most favorite game in the world. I even like it better than all the PS2 games. Even if it is a PSone game, it beats all of the playstation 2 games. Once I beat Tomba, I will write a review for that one too. So why don't you go see it sometime. TOMBA 2 IS GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Deserves more attention

I haven't yet had a chance to play the original tomba but after picking up a copy of Tomba 2 recently i have to say i'm pretty impressed - i wasn't expecting it to look so good and to have such solid enjoyable gameplay.

You play as a young boy raised in the jungle and you must navigate often difficult terrain (think running, jumping, climbing, swinging and gliding) to reach your objective/solve puzzles, while the whole time avoiding evil pigs and other enemys along the way.

I found the initial learning curve to be pretty quick however more then a few of the objectives are fairly difficult so i wouldn't recommend the game for young children or the easily frusterated. (you're going to need to save often to be successful)

Do yourself a favor and check it out if you are looking for a good, solid and challenging platformer.

This is possibly the sequal to the greatest game ever!
(If you've never played Tomba(the first one)) game play is unique and lots of fun. combines classic side scrolling action with clues and puzzles that you must figure out to make your way through the world of Tomba. highly recomended but also get Tomba (the first one) Great game!

Ok, but dumb at times

If your looking for a great sequel to a great game, this isn't it. While it may have some of original gameplay, you could hardly call it a sequel. the puzzles are harder (which i like.)
but the controls and plot suck. COLLECTING GOLDEN CRABS?!?! WHAT THE HECK IS THAT?!?! AND, WHATS WITH THE SUITS?! it was FINE as it was. so, get it if you liked the first one, get it for the sake of being a TOMBA! fan. otherwise, forget it.

RADICAL HAIR-STYLE!

Tomba is a fun game for all ages and could be played for hours. Tomba is an RPG game, but is still fun to play. The music is great, far from it. This is just another game that you cannot live without! (Well, you could, I'm just trying to lighten-up my opion on the game!)

Great Game, With Unexpected Plots.

Tomba 2 is a great follow-up to the original. It is more challenging and it gives that little RPG touch that this game needed to be successful. One con that this game has is it's poor sound quality, and if you want a 30 hour adventure RPG, this is not the game to get. However, this is a fairly short game that you'll want to play over and over again. This game is a game that requires a lot of thinking and should be a game that a parent would love to buy for their kids.

Tomba is back!!!

The evil pigs have returned. Now they stole Tomba's girlfriend Tabby. Now Tomba must defeat the evil pigs once and for all. The graffics are great and the screens are very colorful. Over 100 events to do and over 150 items you can get. Also you can do other things than bite or hit your enemies with something. Now as you defeat the evil pigs ( there are 7 of them ) you get special powers. (Like you can burn your enemies or freeze them.) If you played Tomba ( the first one) this game is 10 times better. You will play this game for hours. WARNING Do not try to beat the last evil pig before you get everything you want done. Once you try to beat him you can't go back.

If you love the original Tomba from Whoopee Camp, you'll love this more!!

And if you think that this is a 3D game, you're incorrect because this is only a 2D platform game but it offers a lot of colorful graphics and delightful, humorous characters..
There are more puzzles to conquer and more "treasures" to find..To beat the game, you have to finish the events, find some crystals, which'll add to Tomba's AP total..It may make you dizzy but the act of playing is worth it.

A Nearly Perfect Follow-up

There were some big shoes to fill when creating a sequel to the best side scroller on the PS1, and they pulled it off. this game does everything right, and only has one realy flaw. some parts of the game feel like a real chore. when you first arrive at the mining village, you will be doing miniscule tasks and errands (pushing around a wheel-barrel full of coal for one) for a while, this happens in another town as well. while there were central hub areas in the original, and you would receive quests there, you didnt have to do boring jobs in town while you were there.

other than that, its just as much fun as the original classic, even the switch to blocky 3-d environments holds up in this day and age, as the areas are just as unique and inviting this time around. the game plays just like Tomba, you'll be slaying evil pigs, climbing around, and picking up side quests for hours. im not sure of the exact number of quests this time around, but its somewhere around 150.

with the loads of areas, enemies and quests you'll be busy for hours. you pick up new weapons and abilities almost constantly, so its pretty much impossible to get sick of this series. its a classic. its one of the best platformers on PS1, and if you enjoy 2d platformers at all, check out this little gem now, before it gets even more expensive.
