This game is even better in graphics than Tony Hawk 1 + 2. You can do over 20 more moves. You can go up elavators to the roofs of buildings. This game is the BOMB!!!

Are you kidding me?

The PSOne version of this game deserves no stars, but unfortunately Amazon's rating system doesn't allow me to choose that. This game is pure garbage.

If you're still with me (and haven't already scrolled down to select "No" when it asks if this review was helpful), I'll explain why. The PSOne version is a port of a game that was designed for the most powerful system available. They sacrificed graphics (which are WORSE than THPS2, I might add), obstacles, and all sorts of other great features just to put it out on as many game systems as possible to make as much money as possible. This is not the best product you can buy, this is a severely downgraded version to pull in $money$. A cash cow.

If that's not enough, then this game has the most bugs I've ever encountered in ANY video game I've ever played. I once hit four in one day, including one that caused the game to freeze up and resulted in me having to manually press the Reset button. This game was obviously rushed to be completed so it could be released alongside the PS2 version, just to "provide consumers with as many options as possible" (in other words, to screw over those who don't own a PS2). I guess designing the best game possible for each system was just too much to ask for. They needed to hurry and get this game out fast so they could get started on Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4 (anyone else sense Tomb Raider-syndrome approaching?).

If you want this game, buy the PS2 or even the Gamecube version. If you don't have those systems, get one. Just DO NOT BUY THE PS1 VERSION. If you do, you're being raped by the business side of the videogame industry.

WOW!

THis game is amazing. With even more tricks and cooler levels, this definitely beats out 1 and 2. I recomend this game to anyone, even if you don't like skateboarding

A Great Game... but not all it's cracked up to be.

I rented this game form Blockbuster, wanting to try it out before I buy it. I liked the animations, and characters. I thought it would be the best THPS yet. But then I saw the courses, which are mostly rails, and the biggest combos I could do were 4 tricks, where in THPS 2 i could do 6 most of the time. Although you have a balance bar to show you your balance when you're grinding, which is a plus, you still don't get as much rail time as on the other 2 THPS's. They tried to make the game more realistic, but now you have to land straight on, you can't land at a 45 degree angle or anything, and big drops are almost impossible unless you hold down x for a while, which doesn't work all of the time. The Park Editor and Pre- Made parks are exactly the same as in THPS 2, but the park editor has more features, like more rails, benches, and risers to choose from. Loading times are a little slow, but that's mainly because of the Full to the rim parks, which some may like, and others may not. I could not stop bumping into things in the Foundry without slowing down. So, there are some good things, like new characters, bigger parks, and more features, but the loading times are slower, air and grind time are less, and you biggest points will come from combo tricks, if you can nail one with more than 3 tricks, which I doubt unless you are accustomed to THPS 1 and 2. But, when you add, you take away, so it's basically the average game. So I gave it an average score.

Notice the developer of it is NOT Neversoft, they were the wonderful folks who brought us THPS1 and 2. However, they worked on number 3 for the playstation2, and handed the rights of playstation version over to some other developer. Early reviews are saying that it cant even compare with the other tony hawk games, and that the new developer totally screwed up the game. So while it may have the name, sounds like it isint going to be very good at all (PSM gave it a 4/10). Im as big a fan as anyone else, but I guess the PS2 version is a whole lot better, which sucks for us still stuck with a playstation. Too bad.

Tony Hawk. This guy is extremely well known, also, in the world of skateboarding, he's one of the best, a legend. Now, I'm not a good skateboarder or a very good video gamer but woa, when I got Tony Hawk's pro skater one for N64 I was amazed. It was an excellent, well made game. Last summer when I finaly got Tony Hawk's pro skater two I was completely stunned. It was as great as the first one! It had newer features like park editor and custom made skateboarders. Now that they have come out with number three, don't you think it will be a great success? I certianly do.

The best thing about Tony Hawk's is anyone can pick up a pad and play it, the graphics are smooth and the controlling is brilliant. It has totally lived up to it's hype and more. There is loads to do, it will last you for ages. It is dead arcadey so you look great in front of someone who doesn't know anything about skateboarding.

tony 3 is amazing!

This game is a need to buy game. There is a two player optian,
you can create a skater and create a skate park. You can also pick Tony Hawk. If you don't want to skate with him, there are 12
other skaters. There are 8 cool levels, 3 of them being competitions. The tricks are cool too. You can do flips, and a lot of other cool tricks including combos. Overall this is a perfect game.
