this game is ok but the gamecube version is a lot better. If you're a serious spiderman freak then buy this game for gamecube or xbox.

Letdown when compared to Mysterio's Menace

After releasing the great Spiderman Mysterio's Menace for Gameboy Advance, I thought that this would be a similar and great game, instead Spiderman "the Movie" lacks any complexity and diversity. You are of course Spiderman armed with a few punches; uppercuts, wall clinging and limited web slinging ability (you actually need to find a building in web slinging distance), and finally wall clinging. As for Spiderman's other tricks like a web shield, web bullets and webbing bad guys those are special items that you need to pick up in order to have them! There are unfortunately no maze levels providing simple straightforward game-play against dozens of enemies per level. After every two levels a villain steps forward to challenge Spiderman. Unfortunately because this game is based on the movie, there are less than stellar villains. The Vulture and the Scorpion were never hit villains. The story itself for the game is very watered down compared to other Spiderman games, and the interludes are not comic strips or animated in anyway, instead its Spiderman talking. Something that does add to the playability of the game is the fact that you can actually take pictures by pushing the select button and you can view them at the end of each stage. This game is a letdown.

This review is not to critique the game and say if it's fun to play or not. I'm writing as a parent of a just-turned-6 year old boy who was loaned this game. While it is rated "E", and you may think it's safe for your kids like "Finding Nemo" or "Cat in the Hat" which are also rated "E". This game is VASTLY different. If you love your child and don't want him or her to see images of Spider-Man being ambushed by 5 gangsters with machine guns in the opening minutes of the game, then I'd suggest you pass on this one.
My son cried his eyes out for 5 minutes when I told him he couldn't play it anymore, but then happily went on to other activities. It was hard to tell him no, but I'm so glad I did the right thing.

Pretty good game, buy at Gamestop

This was a game I liked for a great while until I beat it.
The graphics were standerd for a side to side motion GBA game. The game is shorter than most games of this type, but I like the bonus levels which are in complete 3-D. The hardest boss in my perspective was the second Kraven, until I formed strategies to beat him.
I like the cheat that when you finish the game, you get to skip to any level you would like to. I also enjoy taking snapshots, but I sure wish you could do it any time you wanted to. If you get all the pics on one level, you get an actual Picture from the movie, most of which are pretty stupid.
If you consider buying the game, don't buy it over ten bucks, but check a nearby game store and get it there.

o.k. but too short

This game is really fun on the Game Boy Advance. While it may not have the graphics of the bigger game systems it does sport that awesome SNES graphics for this highly addictive and fun Spider Man game. Spiderman moves like you wouldn't believe. He's nimble, fast, and has really great lookin moves and techniques. My personal favorite being the swing down (r+A) If you loved the movie (like I did) and have the awesome toys (like I do) this is the obvious next step to living out your fantasy of being the world's favorite wall crawler. The game is also challenging so it will give you your 40 bucks worth. It's also fun to collect the Gold Spiders and take pictures during the game. I don't see why anyone would give this game a bad rating, its adventure/action gaming at it's best. A rare Gem for the Game Boy Advance.

P.S. The reason it doesn't contain the cooler villians such as Lizard, Doc Oc, Venom, or Carnage is because they may be used in future films and future Movie Games. BUT at least it has Green Goblin!

Spidey spins another great game

Though the Game Boy games of Spider-Man have never been great compared to the ones on the more advanced console, this game provides for a lot of action and a lot of fun. Navigating Spidey through platform levels, you must face hordes of enemies, find small secrets, utilize your Spider powers, and fight off several of Spidey's worst villians. As a nice added bonus, you can access special web slinging levels, completely in 3-D. The graphics are smooth and sharp, play control is easy to pick up, and the game itself is well thought out and designed. The only problem may be in the lack of levels. It does seem to end too quickly. Despite this, the game is a great piece of work.

The best!

Spider-man is the greatest game boy game you could possibly make!
The only thing I don't like is its to short I beat it in like one week but its still cool cause you can still play the game over and over. And after you beat the game you get level cheat were you can skip levels. And if you beat the game with over 15000 points you get super strength. I recomened this game if you like spiderman or not. This game will make you love spiderman.
