The Death and Return of Superman, wow a cool game!!!

Since 1994, there have been many Superman games, some good and some sucky like the Nintendo 64 version of Superman, but this game done by Blizzard Entertainment who would gain fame from the "Diablo" games is pretty good if not great.

Just like the comic book, "Superman" dies but is later resurrected and comes seeking vengeance, via his Super Powers such as his heat vision, and super punches.

Game is great, great graphics utilizing the then SuperNes 16 bit ability.

Check it out, this game and the new Gameboy Advance, PS2 and Gamecube versions of Superman are the best.

This game is based on the comic books its about how superman dies and returns, first you beat up the underworlders and then you fight to the death against doomsday! the reign of superman begins after that and you are able to play as all the supermen:cyborg, the eridicator, superboy, and steel, this game has awesome graphic's for an snes game, you are able to use all of superman special powers like his punches, laser, and the ability to fly. This is the greatest superman game ever! you must buy it! you wont regret it!

This was a great addition to the franchise of Superman games, unfortunately this has to be the last great addition I have seen thus far. The gameplay is great, graphics outstanding (for SNES), and great replay value. I have played the superman games that have followed this, they don't measure up. The next best one is Shadow of Apokalypes for ps2, but even it is not as good as this one, in my opinion. Also, I think the graphics and sound were superior on SNES then they were on Sega Genesis.

This is a very good game you get to play diffrent types of superman and the action is awesome. Superman Rules I think anything with A superhero in it is good.

If you liked this game check out all of the other Superman Games.

Blizzard's first success in my opinion.

I could play this game over and over. It's rarity makes it that much sweeter to own.

Lot of action, good beat 'em up game and definitely hours of fun.

I liked this game because of the story it's based on. The Death and Return of Superman is probably one of the greatest stories ever told by DC Comics. Alongside Frank Miller's "The Dark Knight Returns" and "Tales of the Spectre" I enjoyed the story. Then, they decided to make a video game for it in 1994. The fighting in the game can be very difficult. Especially when you fight Doomsday in the 2nd level. But, you are able to play as the original Superman, Steel, Superboy, the Eradicator, and the Cyborg along different levels. I reccomend this game to rabid S-man fans. 4 out of 5 stars.

I am not a Superman fan, but when I rented this game back in the 90s, it was incredible. For a SNES game of the time, it had awesome graphics and the fact you could play as the different Supermen each one with different abilities. It's only opposition in this genre is the classic Spider-Man/Venom Maximum Carnage.

Great video games based on DC Comics are few and far between. Luckily, this one isn't so bad. It's basically a side-scrolling beat-em-up in the Superman universe. In addition to Superman, you also get to play as Super Cyborg, The Eradicator, Superboy, and Steel, depending on where you are in the game. Unfortunately, you can't play as Super Girl (surprise, surprise), a female version of Superman with a skirt and a valuable asset (no pun intended).
+ Solid hard-hitting action
- Can't play as Super Girl

it was sick
