The first Mortal Kombat is a true classic for Super Nintendo fans. Sure the art is a little old and the people a little slow, but other than that it's pretty phat. If you've seen Lui Kang with long hair and Raiden with a mostly blue suit than you haven't seen the first Mortal Kombat. Most of the people on Mortal Kombat don't look like the people off of the movie or the other MK games for that matter. Also, the first Mortal Kombat has only six people(Johny Cage, Kano, Raiden, Lui Kang, Scorpion, Sub Zero, and Sonya). MK1 is more quiet than the other games too. In fact, if you play MK1 for at least 5 matches, then play Trilogy right after, you'll find there are too many annoying noises such as hitting, laughing, phrases, and falling in it. You'll also find that in Trilogy, the match is over in 5 seconds! Yo, I'm just telling you if you want a real tournament match, buy this game!

Just kept getting better

This game provided me with my first "fatality" and I've been playing it ever since. Easy enough to manage without the fatalities and easy enough to play without tying your fingers in knots, MK1 was the beginning of a franchise and, as you can see; the series gets better and better. This one has not lost its appeal.
