Mario Karts Origins

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 1 / 1

Mario Kart is an exclusive SNES game which features many of the familiar characters that make Nintendo the best developer in the world. Race on tracks against an opponent or the computer, or battle it out in battle mode using heat seeking shells or banana peels among many other projectiles. This game is great fun for any age and it is one of the best games made for the SNES. This fact is obvious due to the demand for each new version that has come after this one. Battle mode is one of the most exciting and fun features of this game and I still play it often today. If you run into this at a gameshop pick it up, you won't be sorry.

fun as a 2-player game

BOY was Super Mario Kart a popular game back in the day. "Mario is now racing! Along with all his friends!" was the thing people were saying to each other in my middle school. Of course the Sega fans weren't saying that- they could care less about the game or anything to do with Nintendo and all of Nintendo's fans!

Let's move forward to the year 2004. Is it still a good game? Yes, but in my opinion, ONLY on 2-player mode. I think the 2-player battle mode (where you defeat your opponent by hitting them with turtle shells) is quite fun and the main reason to own the game.

The thing is, I don't see ANY of my high school friends anymore. I'm all alone now, so none of those friends come over anymore to play the battle mode with me. I'm forced to play the game by myself, and as a 1-player game, Super Mario Kart just isn't very good. Too many awesome racing games have come along since Super Mario Kart, including the newer Super Mario Kart on the Gamecube (which I haven't played, but I can only assume is MUCH better on 1-player mode). What I'm trying to say is that the 1-player options don't really have anything interesting about them.

However, Super Mario Kart was pretty fun when I was younger. And, you know, it probably remains a total blast to play on 2-player. But if you have no one to play the game with... you better not get it.

Bad Graphics, good races

This game is not using Super NES colors to the fullest. The character graphics could be the same on NES. The backgrounds are almost as updated as GBA. The races are very good, although short (due to 5 laps). I would recommend this game for people born in 1984 and earlier (seven years before I was). This game is 10 years old, but the races are great for its time.

This game is a fun game to play if you have some friends over but thats about it. They have only about 10 or so levels and eight characters. Over all a great game for its time but not a clasic

Super Mario Kart not as good as Mario Kart 64

I had a Nintendo 64, but missed the games on Super Nintendo; super mario world, sim city, pilot wings... I had Mario Kart for the N64 and really liked it, so when I bought a SNES I thought I'd get Mario Kart for that, however it's not nearly as good as it is on the N64. I was very much disappointed. However, in general, the games on SNES are much better then N64.

Fun-But time to move on

This game was one of the most fun games ever to hit the market, but lets get serious, theres the new Mario Kart DS which has better graphics and some tracks from this one, and its portable! There are so many reasons that make it better: Its Wi-Fi, more weapons, more characters, and more modes! Everything about the DS version is better, so please just move on.(And if you dont have a DS get the Gamecube version, and if you dont have a Gamecube, get the GBA version, and if you dont have any of those then I guess you should just stick with this game).

A classic, must-have for SNES!!!!!!

Buy this game if you have SNES.

It has 8 characters for you to pick from. Many items to hurl throughout the racing course. But perhaps the best thing is the wide variety of game types, such as battles, and racing in different tournaments. There isn't much to this game, but what do you expect from SNES. Besides, you dont want anything added to this game. This is the perfect mario racing game for Super Nintendo.

Best. Video Game. Ever.

I used to play this game with my friends and my brother all the time. We could play battle mode for hours. My brother and I once played a best-of-25 battle mode match. The Grand Prix mode is equally awesome. I started playing this game 10 years ago and I'm still addicted to it. The sequels have been pretty sweet, but the original is still the best, with simple, straightforward gameplay. The computer can be cheap at times, but it's not so frustrating that you won't keep coming back for more. Buy this game and play it, you'll be hooked for life.
