I had never seen or heard of the game untill I saw my cousin playing it. I was instantly hooked and I wanted to play it for myself immediantly. The landscape is beautiful along with the other graphics in my opinion. I have heard people say that this game is a cheap rip off of Diablo, however I used to be a Diablo fan, and this game blows Diablo completly away. You can have a party of people instaind of going through the game alone. Purchase pack-animals for help when needing something to carry extra loot from battling monsters. This game never got boring from start to finish. And to this day I still want to play it.

More of the same...

If you enjoyed Dungeon Siege, you'll enjoy Aranna. It doesn't introduce anything new or novel. It's still just a straight bash, slash, magic attack your way through hordes and hordes.. and hordes of badies. Not that this is always a bad thing. Sometimes you just want a mindless game to take you away or vent your frustrations :P
After a while though, I just plain got bored with it. I wasn't able to get attached to my character or companions or engrossed in the quests or storyline.

- The game was stable
- The graphics .. ok
- The storyline weak
- Character involvement low
- Somehow Diablo II was more satisfying :P

disappointed

Unfortunately this game is rated as working on the XP. The expansion does work on the XP. And is very good. The reason I don't rate the game higher is that the origional Dungeon Seige starts working, but then around the mid point it crashes. It replaces the screen with squares of green. Once they appear, nothing can be done. I E-mailed Microsoft and the developers and they insisted that I just had to erase the game from the computer and then reload the game onto the computer. It then crashed the same way. I gave up after three crashes. But as I say, the expansion does work and is quite fun. The main game is also fun until it crashes.

Better than I expected.

When I get a game, I usually like to see screenshots & read an article on it. A fellow PC Gammer at work let me borrow his to judge. For polygons, the background art was fantastic (the sensation of hiking without the leg cramps) the mules were useful, gathering allies unexpectedly & latter deciding with of your long-term trainees had to go to make way for someone you'd need latter...all good. Loved the way you could pick up armor & weapons to sell for even better stuff...& there's quite a bit per level! I didn't like the lilited selection of design pieces for designing the main chara, nor did I care much for the BG music, & the text-items were annoying, & if you turned off the text, the items were difficult to see. I'm giving it a 4 because I've never played this type of strategy game before so I have no other similar experiences with witch to compare it.

This is not the latest or greatest game, but my PC isn't either so they get along just fine. I really enjoy playing Dungeon Siege with a friend in PA who host the game on his up-to-date computer. Lots of fun and highly recommended!

This is the most time I've spent playing a game in years! Most games bore me almost immediately, but Dungeon Siege is one of my favorites.

I can't wait for DSII to come out!

Mediocre medieval masher

This game was recommended to me by a friend. It's similar to Diablo II in nature, but I would say that it's a much better game. That being said, it's a pretty boring and unengaging piece of software. The game looks good. The controls are good. But... no story, no problem solving, no puzzles, and battles can almost happen without your input, they're so computer assisted. It almost does it all for you, especially since the spellcasting is basically useless aside from healing and summoning. I do like some features of the game like potion sorting, customizing character attack perameters, etc. I do think the game is quite beautifully rendered for the type of game that it is (diabloesque), but that eventually got tired and I ended up not finishing it. Replay value is non-existent here. Mediocre fare.

What a joke

I spent like 20 hours or something obscene and finally got a pack mule. Then some guy came by and said "nice donkey" and KILLED it.

It was boring just getting to that point, but after that happened, the game was pretty pointless. What a waste of time. It would be like building a stack of cards, only to have some guy walk by, smash it, then you start over.

Summary of the game - kill, kill, kill, kill, kill.....(many moons later)....kill, kill, kill, ending (all with a crappy interface).

If you ordered this, mark the box return to sender and get your money back.
