So much fun, not as difficult as "Commandos". Fine music. Many ways to finish. That's it!
I'm waiting for part two.

I bought this game while I was on vacation, and was really looking looking forward to play it. I heard great things, and the theme of it looked great. I loaded it, I loaded it again, I loaded, and unloaded, and everything! The game never got started! I had everything i needed for this game to run, but it never worked. It looks like a great game, but don't BUY it if you have ever, EVER had trouble with games on your computer.

The American West meets Commandos2

If you liked Commandos 2 and found it entertaining then this is a great game for you. It is, for the most part, Commandos 2 except that it takes place in the American West. Your starting character is a Bounty Hunter who is very willing to step outside the law to get paid. The terrain and maps are quite diverse and include a nice little town on the Mississippi River, a Sheriff's Rancho, and the rocky landscape of the American Southwest. However, I just couldn't understand a few minor storyline details. For example, in the American West at this period of time cheating in cards (specifically poker) was quite common. Yet, in one mission, you must lead your party of "desperados" to rescue a comrade who has has been arrested for cheating. To make things even worse (historicly and for you as the player) the entire town (save about 10 people) have gone out and gotten guns. But despite all of the little details this is a really fun game that has a wide range of tactics and characters to use in the many interesting and just plain fun missions. After all, who doesn't like a Western "shoot em' up?" Even if you don't like it you must admit that this is a very well done game.

I can only hope that there will be a sequil !!!

I've had Desperados for almost a year now and have not grown tired of it yet! The artistic talent is evident in the scenery/playing area. The AI (artificial intelegence) makes the bad guys a challenge and a real source of entertainment; there are all sorts of mind games and tricks you can play on the enemy which are hilarious. I, personally, hope to see many more games of this genre coming out - especially Western ... there's something fun about reliving historical roots in a fantasy. Also, see the games: Commandos and Commandos II Men of Courage.

Does it work on xp?
