Strait up this game is the best game i have ever played in its genre. This game is so huge and addictive it messed up my social life hehe.I got my girlfriend and family playin and we all have fun together its great.Im a 55 rogue on the game(5lvls away from the max)and i still find it to be enjoyable exciting and leaves me calling up my family telling them all about my situations.Thats why im sayin this game is weird well because it does so much and leaves you wanting more even when you die and hate it.

It's not even out yet!!!

The fun you have with Everquest is based on how you play the game. At lower levels the game is a lot of fun. A person can play an hour or so each night and still see progression in the game. As your character gets older you will soon find it takes several hours to even get organized and go out and hunt the monsters or do the quests. The server you play on will also determine the amount of fun you have. At lower levels this does not matter but as you mature in the game you'll discover that certain groups of people dictate what can be hunted and what rare item you might get should you be lucky enough to get into a decent hunting group. I play computer games to remove myself from the politics of every day life. In EverQuest the politics in the online community can sometime be far worse than those you would experience in life. On the other hand in real life you cannot chose to duel your rivals to the death.

I've played Everquest for almost a year now. Most of the players have played at least this long if not longer. People are getting bored and are starting to quit and are preparing for the next generation online game. If you already own Everquest then you will probably buy this expansion. If you are considering becomming a new player then hold off on buying this until you have progressed far enough in the full version of the game.

I have played this game since it first came on line in beta. Compared to all the games (RPG and others), this has been the best. The graphics are awesome. The theme in each zone is unique unto itself. It is truly so addicting, that you forget about everything else. As in all games or groups where people interact, there are problems. I usually ignore the ignorant ones (who are mostly the young people who play). Some players say that it's just a game, but they must remember that real people with real personalities play it. The guides or GM's have always been helpful to me. The true adventure is exploring the lands. The monsters are really scary but exciting. This game is too real and too exciting for you not to buy it. You will be very glad you did. I'm hoping my 52 level Druid (Elena) will meet you sometime in game:).

This is the best game .. hands down! Just get it.It does have some annoying down time but it is not as much as some reviewers say it is.It is just that you begin to love the game and when you can't play it seems like a very long time. The game masters do help you although it may take a little while.I think they can just get your account name ... I had a problem and got tired of waiting for a reply so I logged another of my many chacters. They got to me on that one I don't know if it always works but good way to pass time while waiting for a response.Well there goes the petition complaint I have read so much about.I love this game it is a perfect way to pass time but it becomes a perfect way to spend time. This game leaves all the other games in the dust choking!Buy it and give LILLUIENYA on VALLON ZEK PVP a tell.JOIN A PVP SERVER they keep the game very interesting.I bought the game for interactive play not just killing a computer player beside me!Although it does stink to be killed on a long journey or anytime it keeps the game fun and also you can send your murderer a tell of his deeds if it is a low PK (Player Killer) wich means he/she PKed you when you had no chance to fight back such as when your LD (Link Dead) or if your level of exp is way lower than yours displayed by targeting him and clicking C for consider or if he/she killed after a long battle with another creature. If this happens shout his/her name and say his/her wrong-doing chances are another player can bloody his sword on him.(expeirenced players don't kill me if you petition and log another chacter and they don't get to you, check up on it first to see if it really works, plus i like my body don't make it a corpse) or you can send me a tell to tell me about how much you enjoyed the review (or to try to find me and kill me =( not funny). I have made many friends and sometimes you even find out about their real life although you aren't always interested the player you play really becomes you in the game you kinda forget about you and just enter the fantastic and fantasy world of EVERQUEST! Have fun!

Everquest--Worst Game I've Played

Here's the lowdown on Everquest: 1) You can really write a dissertation like Phillip Cooper says about the flaws of EQ--that eventually turn the game into a drag. But I think the big flaw of EQ is that it's like the old D&D games--BUT run by a 13-year old sadistic Dungeon Master who delights in player killing, broken quests, and an environment where the player is way-underpowered compared to monsters (by EQ design to force grouping)! I'm an avid game player: Go, chess, Panzer General, Diablo, Vampire: Redemption--you name it--and I grew to *hate* EQ because of the way the game is setup. I feel that EQ is not fair 100 fold over any other game I've played. You can spend hours doing a quest (versus camping) and receive a sliver of experience (and a crummy rusty weapon). Or you can find out the quest is broken. Recently a player asked the EQ customer support lackey if they would publish which quests were broken. A reasonable enough request, no? The lackey replied that this was not possible as telling which quests were broken would be giving away tooooo much information. This is sadly typical of the attitude EQ has. If you would like to play a game run by sadistic designers who put out a bug-ridden product--then by all means buy EQ. You'll waste a lot of time before you're writing your own EQ horror stories here (the EQ bulletin boards are full of 'em). All of these stories are not by whiners--or by power gamers. Everyone has complaints about EQ--at least those who play enough. The good thing about EQ is whenever you're sick of getting stiffed and switch games you'll find you appreciate other games more.

Let me first of all, tell you how i started playing EverQuest. A good friend of mine played it all the time and i HATED it and was so bored to sit there and watch him play all the time. One day i started a character and that is when i became addicted, and have been playing for almost a year now! You start out at level 1 , you have a huge choice of different classes and races to pick from.Trading items with players and merchants and killing MOBS and gaining levels is so much fun! There is no blood or gore. I enjoyed EQ and its many continents running around to new lands.. err ( zones) and meeting people online from across the world! There is always patches to better the game and it does get better every week! I suggest this game to ANYONE! I was NEVER the gaming type.. i was just a girl who liked TV and boys and make up.. hehehe .. now i play EQ and am so much happier now taht i have found a REAL hobby! As for the Scars of Velious addition to EQ.. BRAVO Verant and Sony! This new continent is for lvls 35 and up! ( although i took my cleric there at lvl 31). It is really..icy there but new creatures and litems to loot and a much better experience.. it isnt as crowded as the other continents and the loot is good and the experience is good! This game i give it a 5 stars for the fact that i hated the game, then tried and completly changed my mind and for its monsters or ( mobs) and for its graphics ( when Shadows of Luclin comes out will be EVEN better)! For everything! It has made me many new friends across the world and brings me to a special place,, EQ is the best!!!!!

My husband and I have been playing EQ since it's original release date. We switched to it from Ultima Online, and I have to say that it is one of the best games we have ever gotten involved with. No matter what massive online RPG you play, there are bound to be some quirks and problems, but over all I have found EQ to be the a most enjoyable game to play. We are looking forward to Scars of Velious, and any future additions. This is an awesome game, and a great opportunity to play with some terrific people from all around the world.

Velious. Best Verant Production Yet

EQ proper was a begining, but it is pretty static, designs are bland and after 50 levels, you get tired of it.

Kunark was a great start, but it was a learning experience for the design team. Many bugs on release, non-added sound and character models made it, while worth the money not as great as it could have been.

Velious is the cumulation of Verants learning. Released with beautiful graphics, great sounds, Challenging monsters and loot dazzeling in beauty and power. Velious is a MUST HAVE for those who are bored or disallusioned w/ the rest of EQ. And the New user interface is worth the (money) alone. Breath life back into the monotinious EQ and get Velious.

EverQuest Online Comment

From what I have seen "EverQuest: The Scars of Velious " looks good and I'm ready to buy it. I have read all the comments and must Lol. If we lived in a perfect world where all was perfect the negative comments could be understood. EverQuest has broken new ground in the Online Network Gaming Arena, which were major complains with the other Online Games pre-EverQuest. As a Systems Engineer I understand Bugs, but when dealing with Millions of lines of code and the complexity of the EverQuest code you are going to have Bugs. (Look at the Operating system you're running it on???) Customer Service is always an issue with everyone in every environment dealing with just about everything. Rule #1 You can't please everyone. Someone doesn't get his or her way and now it's a `bad customer service issue'. (No I don't work for the folks at Verant.) I see the current EverQuest as an amazing accomplishment from a networking point-of-view. And I'm hopping that Lessons Learned from EverQuest will be put to good use with EverQuest II.

I have been playing EQ for about a year and enjoyed it without any problems but the last patch or set of patches they made me download jackup the game. It was a directx patch for the new upgrade. Lots of other people have complained about sound and graphic since the last patch. Verant has refused to do anything about it and blames the dumb customers for the problems. I havent played in about a week and miss the game alot. I would buy S.O.V. if i was still able to play it. Make sure you have the few video cards verant wants you to have before investing in the game.
