This is just a cool game. You need to try it. I thought "oh goody. another 3rd person shooter" but then i played it on a whim and I found it incredibly fun. Being able to jack-up your 4 evolution junkie soldiers along entirely different paths of abilities and appearances is just fun.

Not just another..

Evolva is supremely fun. As a game developer I like to try a variety of games to formulate new ideas of my own, and this looked like a really good/original idea.

From the first level I was hooked. Why wasn't this game advertised better? (magazines, websites, etc.)
However, I did have some problems.

To start there was something wrong with the video and I had distant terrains showing up through the fog as grayish/white patches and lines.. I asked activision about this and found it was something about my video card (drivers). No game fault, but
they didn't assist me any further.

I found the multiplayer gamer lacking, though I didn't have the internet, or any network connect, at the time. the weapons and controls don't really blend well w/ MP, since this game, as it seems, was set up for single player.

There were times, not often though, the characters displayed poor path finding. If you told them to move to a far off locations w/ obstacles in the way, they would get lost, but usually this worked well, very well actually.

The manual! I didn't care the the black and white manual, especially when they referred to colors in the pictures to explain what the particular stat means.

.. There is a LOT more to like than not; I had a hard time thinking of these few things..

Overall its a blast--so none of my 'dislikes' should hinder your potential purchase. Especially since I bought this game when it cost a lot more than the current price, and I still loved it :)

I give it the highest rating. Graphics, gameplay, controls, everything, is top of the line! Except for: The manual-black and white, typos, and not very specific; The multiplayer- could have been better implemented, no one is ever on! If EVOLVA got better marketing than it would definently be a top seller! And anyone who sees this PLEASE buy it and go online so I can fight someone in a deathmatch!

Great Idea!

I can't fairly rate how good Evolva is as a game because I really don't play them that much. The reason I have it is because I am an artist who hopes someday to design characters for games like Evolva. So I scoop up games like this for artwork, research & great ideas, which this one has. I love the premise, it's interesting & different. The world & characters are well thought out. Can't wait to get somebody to play it so I can watch. Evolva seems to be in a similar category as Dominant Species & Warbreeds, which I also have. Hopefully I'll find some more related games & hopefully my review might help some people who weren't sure about giving this game a try.

bugs and more dumb bugs!

irksome and tiresome the novelty of the spectacular wears thin.. for after awhile you realise, your clicking has no real meaning or consequence..... the bugs have noo inteligence they just rush en mass and wish to destroy you, and the game gives you nO REAL control, no player SENCED inteligence , just a feeling everything is scripted and you feel cheated.
