tip to beat the game: walk from left to right and do some sweep kicks at the angry vampires. Then kill them with you stake with down and A. Repeat twenty times to get to level two. Repeat thirty times to get to levet three. Repeat fourt... oh wait I've got better things to do in my car like counting the threes through the window...

I was confused

I had confused the game with the real Buffy game that's supposed to come out on Playstation this year, I think. The Gameboy version is horrible, it's like they just added more vampires each level and nothing else, I was bored out of my mind. But the Buffy game on Playstation is really cool if you ever get a chance to check out the screenshots you should.

i'm really not one, I didn't feel like becoming a member under another screenname.

Buffy is greater than ever!

This game is great! It has great moves and art, but the game is short and the comics could use a tad bit more work. Otherwise, this game is fantastic. I played it with my friend for only ten minutes when he was not interested in Buffy, but now he has 5 seasons on DVD! I guess this game really is magic! Buy it today! PS: It'll be worth every penny!

Disappointing

Being a huge Buffy fan, I was rather excited when I found out about this game. Unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment.

On the plus side, the storyline is very Buffy-esque and the dialogue in the comic book style cutscenes fits the characters perfectly. Therefore, playing through the game and watching the story unfold is sort of like seeing an episode of the show play out..albeit through poorly drawn comic book pages.

Unfortunately, the game itself is quite bad. The backgrounds are about par for Gameboy, but the character graphics are rather blocky. The gameplay is repetitive and mind-numbingly simple. Here's how things play out: You walk a bit on the screen. A vampire shows up. You trip and/or hit said vampire so he/she falls down. Walk over to the vampire on the ground and stake him/her. Repeat one or two dozen times. Go to the next level. Start the process over again. Some vampires are a little more powerful or difficult, but the technique basically remains the same. The first (and only) time I played the game, I beat it without dying once. I think it took less than an hour.

Like I said, Buffy fans might still enjoy reading through the storyline, but don't expect much (if anything) from the gameplay, which offers maybe a few minutes of mindless fun before becoming tedious. I'd recommend a rental at most since, in all likelihood, it'll last about an hour and you'll never play it again.

"Buffy" is great on both screens, the T.V. and the Gameboy

This game is pretty cool. Its not big on grafics though, and sometimes when im fighting the vamps (and there are alot of them), its hard to tell if ive been hit by just looking at it. This game would be better on Play Station or Dreamcast. Its still a cool game though.

Ok so I am a Buffy fan so I love this game. It's like one of those old martial arts games except it has a storyline. So basically you are watching a Buffy episode except your the one who is kicking butt. The game lets you know what buttons to push to do certain moves and it also gives you a password every time you complete a level, which is cool for me since I am constantly dying on the fourth level. I hope this helps you out and I hope you love it as much as I do!

Not exactly what I had hoped for, but overall fun

I am a very big Buffy fan... I've got posters of the cast everywhere and I've barely missed any episodes! I was really excited when I heard a game was coming out so I got it. I was a little disappointed that it was coming out for gameboy instead of N64 or something, but oh well. Anyway, the game was really fun at first, but it is really hard to see the screen because it's dark and it doesn't light up, so I had to play under my lamp! The comics were pretty cool and kind of humorous, although I wish you would have more choice as to what you could say (you role-play Buffy, this is an RPG.) There was nothing else to do besides fighting vampires and bosses at the end of each level, and as the levels get higher you die a lot because it gets way too hard in my opinion. Well I am a big buffy fan, but not a big fan of this game, this is one of those games that I'd play every once and awhile when I'm bored. I suggest getting this game at your nearby Blockbuster or else don't waste your 30 bucks.

Not what you expect

I was so disappointed in this game. I am a huge Buffy fan, so naturally I bought it. When you first get it, it's like, cool, you fight vampires. But that is ALL you do. The only other thing there is are cartoons that you read before each level. The "levels" consist of differently dressed vampires. I found that it was difficult to move Buffy at times, and buttons to move are not well designed--to stake, you have to hav ethe vampire on the ground, press the down key and the A key at the same time to do the act that is the entire point of the game! Granted, there are only so many combinations that can occur, but they could have been placed better. Anyway, unless you really REALLY want to sit around and get frustrated at a little vampire that seems to be draining your energy for no reason, I recommend this game, otherwise, don't wast your money.
