The game lets you walk almost were ever you want to and you can raise crops as well as animals. Getting married is also an aspect of the game. I love this game so much I even bought it for N64 and I can't wait until it comes in because you can do even more. My son loves the game to and we both talk about it over dinner even though no one else knows what were talking about.

Perfect Game

I wish I can give this game more than 5 star. I have many gameboy color games, and this is my favorite. I like these action games, and I thought I wasn't going to like this game. But believe me, I got hooked! It is lots of fun raising animals and plants and basically raising a farm. Wow, this game is in the top 5 of my favorite games on ANY system. Buy, Buy ,Buy this game as fast as you can, GREATEST GAME!

I went on a trip to Florida about a year and a half ago and bought this at a used video game shop. This game was so fun I could not put it down! I even sat inside the condo all day and played this while everyone else was at the beach! You can choose to be a boy or girl and you keep a farm. Each season there are new crops to plant and you can also have cows and chickens which also help youmake a prophit. Thsi game deserves 100 stars as this is one of the best games I have ever bought for GBC next to Pokemon! :)

Harvest Moon is a game where you play as a boy or a girl and try to run a farm. You have tools, animals and seeds to grow plants. You go and earn money by selling your goods. You even have a dog or a cat! This a great game for people who want to farm or just have some fun!

No violence but lots of strategy!

This is one of Natsume's best GB game of all. First you start off with barely any money. As you buy crops and sell them, you will impress the Farm Spirit who comes only once a year. You must feed your cows, chickens but no need to feed your horse or dog. In this game, you will never find any kickin, punchin or shootin.

I like it I like it a lot.

This game is lots of fun. It's challenging and there's no killing which is a nice change from most games. I already used three sets of battries on it and I only got it a couple of days ago. My favorite part is raising livestock. Sometimes it seems like the days pass too quickly when you have a lot to do in the beginning but later on before you can buy animals the days seem to pass really slow. I recommend this game to anyone; I think it's loads of fun.

Great Game for Beginners!!

First off, let me say, this is a wonderful game! For the time that we are in now, it is probably a bit outdated compared to the other Harvest Moon titles, but it is still very fun.

This is probably one of the few Harvest Moon titles that does not focus so much on building relationships or marrying, etc. It is just focused on farming, which in my mind is what it should be about. I don't own this game, nor have I played any of the other titles, but this was the first GameBoy game I ever played (played on my friends).

If you are interested in playing/buying any of the Harvest Moon games, you should probably get this one first, it is the simplest one to play. But, dpending on what you look for in a game, you may want to choose one of the later versions.

The gameplay in Harvest Moon is very simple, in an opening movie, an angel tells you, you need to help save your grandfathers farm. Then, you start playing the game, where you are placed on the farm, if you walk around, there are lots of weeds, rocks, stumps, etc. You must clear out all of that, and then hoe the ground so you can plant your crops. There aren't too many crop choices in this game, in spring you can plant either turnips or potatoes, in summer you can plant corn or tomatoes, but I'm not sure what you can plant if fall (I think it's broccolie and carrots, or something like that). You can also grow grass all year (except in winter I think), that you can store in the silos as fodder for your animals (when you buy them!).

Once you have your seeds planted, you must water them every day, so that they will grow, and after a couple of days you will have crops that are ready for you to 'harvest'. You then must place your crop in the shipping box for it to be picked up (be careful not to drop your crop, or else it will break and you won't make money for it!). The next day, your goods have been picked up, you will get paid!!

After you have been farming for a while, you get a horse, which you must keep (don't worry, it comes in handy!). You do not have to feed it, or pet it, or even for that matter worry about it too much, but when it is old enough, you can ride it (by pressing the control pad and A) around your farm!! You can also buy a saddle for it, which can ship your goods without having to go to the shipping box.

Natsume has come out with Harvest Moon titles for almost every console (PSX, PS2, GB, GBC, GBA, N64 and they are coming out with one for Game Cube!), which offers a wide variety to choose from if you don't want the first. The titles include: Harvest Moon, Harvest Moon 2, Harvest Moon 3, Harvest Moon: Save the Homeland, Harvest Moon: Back to Nature and more!

This is not all you can do in Harvest Moon, but it is the main ganeplay. I hope you have learned something from this review, and I hope you play this game... it really is a lot of fun!!

get jiggy down on the farm

This game is one of the better Gameboy titles out there, however, it is more of an adult game.

You are a solo farmer trying to make a dead farm productive. The days pass by, seasons change, and all the while you attempt to grow crops and raise livestock. It takes awhile, but once you get things going you can have some fun.

AWESOME!

This game is great and very, and I mean VERY, addictive. Want proof? I just got it LAST NIGHT and I am 3/4ths of the way through the first year! As you play this game you get better and better at being a farmer. There's tons of stuff to do, and it will grab you from the start! I recommend printing a walkthrough off the internet to get you started on the right foot. So buy this game, some extra batteries and find a comfy spot, because you'll be there for a while!

Can you say "addictive"?

Oh my god! this is the most addictive game out! I go on a 3 hour car trip, turn on my game boy then...... BOOM! I am already there. If you don't have this game, get it now. It isn't just addictive, but fun, too. It is like, yes! I just sold a bunch of stuff! I can start building more to my house! Really, this is like digital heroine. you must get this game.
