In this GBC version of Mario Tennis,You can do an exibition, mario tour,or play mini games wich you uncover when you do the make your own character. If you don't understand a word they use in tennis like "volly" for example, you can look it up in a dictionary they put in there. In mario tour you pick if you want to be a boy or a girl and then you name it and you also name your doubles partner. You live in a dorm and you go to a tennis academy. You start off is juniors, then seniors, and then your on the traveling team.In the exibition you can play singles or doubles, you pick what character you want and who you want to play against and their skill level. In the mini game mode, you get to play mini games that you've unlocked in mario tour. This is a fun game and I recomend it if you have a GBC.

Mario Tennis: Best Game for the Game Boy EVER!!

I first played Mario Tennis at my friends house, on his N64. It was pretty fun, difficult at first, but I got the hang of it. Aiming the ball is very tricky at first (I can't get my dad to figure it out), but after a few hours you'll be aiming as if it were natural. I didn't have an N64 at the time, so I bought the Game Boy version. At first I was disappointed by the small selection of characters, but when I started playing the Mario Tour (the actual game, not the practice or Mini game) I really enjoyed it. Now I've beaten the game and am half-way through playing as a girl. If you have an N64, I highly recommend getting the N64 version and a transfer pak too. The transfer pak doesn't cost much (about $15 if you buy it new) and it lets you transfer the character you created on the Game Boy game to the N64 game. The graphics are much better on the N64, but there is no "Mario Tour" (the best part of the Game Boy version). If you transfer your charcter to the N64, you can win tons of trophies in the N64 version and from all the games you play to get the tropies, you'll gain tons of experience, making you even better. I've gotten my character so good, my friends call it a "cheat character", even though it's perfectly normal. I recommend this game over the N64 game even though it's graphics aren't as good, because the game is so much more fun and has so much more to do. This is definately the best game for the Game Boy ever and I'm suprised it hasn't done better in sales.

Since I really like tennis I really find Mario Tennis fun, but challinging in good way. I have to admit that sometimes it gets a little frusterating at times ( Like when you swing and miss at an easy shot or your doubles pratner makes a error that most players could do) . But overall, it's a GREAT GAME, and very relalistic. I recomend it even if your not a tennis player.

I bought this for myself because my friend had the N64 version and I really liked it! This is totally differant than the N64 version. It has a lot less characters (only Baby Mario, Donkey Kong and Luigi) but the real game is VERY fun! I found the doubles very easy until the versity but singles are not so. I highly recommend this game.

This game is pretty fun and all there is is not just tennis. You can make up your own players with their own names. It is a bit challenging though but once you get the hang of it, it starts to be fun. It is for shure better than Pokemon. You can play singles or doubles. It has horrible sound effects and sometimes it looks like the other player gets out but it doesn't count it. It's a pretty good game but it has some bugs in it. At first it will seem way to hard.

Middle-of-the-road tennis game

I am a big fan of the N64 version of Mario Tennis, so I hoped when I bought the GBC Mario Tennis that it would live up to my expectations. Too bad.

I understand that this is a handheld version, which is just fine, but this game suffers in a few vital areas. First, it doesn't feel like a true "Mario" title---especially in the RPG mode. Second, the tennis action is simple enough to grasp, but it stops there. Too simple almost; there is a lack of depth in the playability department. Third, the sound effects, but you knew that already. And last but not least--the whole concept of a RPG tennis game just doesn't work, sorry folks. I tried playing it the other day, and it just doesn't click. The mini games are silly; the characters that you meet are annoying, etc.

This game is mediocre at best...I would stick to the N64 version.

Mario Golf is my all time favourite game, so when Mario Tennis came out i thought it would be really good. I was a bit dissapointed. This game is so well designed and so much fun to play. The only problem is that it's so incredebly easy. There are about 2530 matches you play throughout the whole game in singles and doubles, and not only did i not lose a single match, but out of the 100 plus games (6 games to a set, 13 sets to a match), i lost about 58 games all up. Even when playing in the final tournament and when i played Mario, i didn't lose a single game. It's actually possible that if i started playing the whole game again, i could win 95% of all points. Really fun gameplay earns this game points.

This game rocks! It's so realistic, with exellent graphics. A fault I found is that if you let your partner control the outcome of the game too often, she or he will get too used to it and it becomes difficult to get the tennis ball. Other than that, this is a wonderful game. The sound is NOT a con (in your face!(s))
