Much more fun than meets the eye

Ever played one of those games that you think, wow, even if it's about a decade old, it's still a solid game? Lemmings: Revolution is such a game. Even though its graphics are incredibly dated--the lemmings are drawn in pixels, not polygons--the gameplay is basically the exact same as the original Lemmings from way back when, and the sound effects seem downright childish at times, this game still has a power to suck you in and not let you go until you finally solve that friggin' puzzle. And then it's off to the next puzzle for you!

Believe me, you are gonna have to be on your toes to solve these puzzles. That goes especially true for the ones later in the game, some of which are real hair-raisers. But that's really what this game is all about: using the limited tools you have available to solve any problem the game throws your way. All of the levels are solvable, but it's going to be tough to keep that in mind at times! Honestly, this is about as intense of an intellectual game you'll find that isn't an actual math/English/history tutorial DVD. Though it may sounds as if this would scare moset people away, this is actually the very attribute that keeps drawing you in, instilling that "Just one more level!" attitude. If you're looking for something to mindlessly churn through, avoid this game like the plague, because that's exactly what Lemmings: Revolution is not.

(FYI, for those who can't get the game to run, you have to run it in Administrator mode. I have no clue why, but that has to be done.)

Addictive

When I got this game, I thought it would be pretty boring. But when I got into it, I just couldn't stop playing! This is the ultimate puzzle game.

Lemmings is back, again...

Not the first Lemmings game I've played, but it came bundled with my PC and gave it a spin. It installs in seconds on a Pentium II, even, and then went off straight away. When you enter the game, it gives you the storyline as part of the opening sequence. With that over, click 'new game' and you get this sideways pyramid of cubes. Most are yellow, but 3 are green. Click a green block to play that level. Then, wait a sec, and after a few moments a cylindrical tower will appear, all in lovely 3d. When you've conquered that level, 2 more will bcome green. And so on, and so forth. This game is good if you love lemmings, but it's also fun to see them 'plummeting' to their certain doom. And it's nice to see, a few times, their little faces exploding witha teeny pop. Overally good, too, even if it does take you a long time to find out how to rotate the screen view.

Fun, sometimes sadistic, but fun

If you want to be in charge of a bunch of moronic, cute, green balls of fur as they explode, fall of cliffs, drown, and get cut to bits by traps, you might enjoy this game. Of course, the goal is for them not to get killed, but to get to a hot air balloon hidden beyond all the tricks and traps, which will take them to safety. Although it starts out simply, the puzzles quickly get intense, luckily however, for each level you complete, you will unlock 2 harder levels (there is a "map", so sometimes completing a level will unlock only one, or no levels, but usually you will get two). I don't know if it is just my disc, but I cannot play one level (the high dive), because I am missing a texture or something. If anyone has any information about that, I would like to know it. Anyway, this game is extremely chalenging, even having played the original, and is also entertaining, often in a sadistic way (the spike logs often get a little... choppy), so if you like puzzle games, I recomend you give this one a try, since it doesn't cost too much for 100 levels.

only OK

Not really what I expected, and there isn't any real help or introduction; you just get thrown into the game.

Cool, really hard though

I would definetly recommend this game to someone who has a lot of spare time. it is very difficult and frustrating if you don't get these suicidal lemmings to thier balloon on time. I liked it at first but then the Lemmings just irritated me. get it if you like lemmings. But if you like games that are challenging as well as icredibly difficult, better pass it up.

Would be a great game if I could get it to run!

I have been unable to convince this game to work. My computer meets the minimum requirements, but the game quits like every 30 seconds. Based upon what I've seen of the game (the opening scene) it looks great, but who can tell?

Lacks Technical Support

The worst thing about this game is the lack of technical support. I don't know if the game is fun or not. I'm still trying to contact the "technical support" department to get help. All they provide is an email address. The game didn't load on my computer and I sent an email asking for help. One week later I still have had no response from the "support" team. If you visit the website it refers you to the email address. In short, they don't care whether the product works, or not.

It's Lemmings! It has to be good! It is good!

I have just purchased this game and let me tell you, it's a ball! I have the original and the best part about this version is that you are able to turn the puzzle around. Very cool game for classic game lovers. A must buy!

Disappointing. Fans of the former Lemmings games will be disappointed. The game requires installation of DirectX 7, supposedly included on the CD. After several attempts at installing the game and DirectX 7, the game would not play. The simplicity of the original game is lost.
