Very addictive game. Hours of play as nothing is easy. Interesting use of different timezones for one location. Not quite as unfocused as Riven as you know what you are trying to find, but just as much requirement to look into every nook and cranny. Puzzles come in different formats, including some very complex ones. Highly recommended.

LOVE THE MESSENGER!

THIS IS ONE OF MY ALL TIME FAVORITE GAMES-just to begin with-the story line is fantastic and the ending is anything but disappointing-i cannot understand anyone giving this game a bad review-it is a brilliant story with a surprise ending-i am tired of playing games and the end is a let down-this game delivers from beginning to end-i love this game so much i have given it as a gift to 12 different people so far-plus-you get a whole lot for your money-and the price is more than right on this game!

this is a second review from me-after reading all the reviews-i had to add this-i do not know why this game is rated teen or considered violent-i despise horror games and even feel that seven games of the soul-minus the violence- is morbid and inappropriate for children -the underlying theme itself is morbid-this is not a bloody game at all -or- in my opinion-inappropriate for anyone-i have seen kids movies and cartoons with more violence-i would reccomend it to any age-i think that some parts of these reviews -and the teen rating-are very misleading

What a blast! An adventure game with a female hero, a decent plot, costume drama (you visit several time periods), and challenging but solvable puzzles.

This would be a great gift for a young adult or teenage girl on your holiday gift list.

A fabulously fun game!!

This was an absolutely enjoyable game all the way!! The graphics were absolutely marvelous, it had a plausible story line, and lots of puzzles which were not absolutely mind-boggling. The really neat thing with this one was the way the time travelling was treated, by moving forward a period of time but remaining in the same geographical location. I found it an absolutely interesting piece just from the architectural angle and the time zones covered. The puzzles were well done and in keeping with the periods of time being dealt with as well as in keeping with the story line. I have had this game just since Christmas and already I am on my third time through--just looking at the sights and being amazed. I hope you enjoy it!

OK this is a realy cool game. I played it at the same time as my sister on difrent computters. If we needed help we would look to the other( a very good idea). The game it self has a ok story line. It gets addicting. I would some times sit in bed thinking about it. It isnt the hardes game ( like MYst or rivin) YOU CAN ACTUALY SOLVE THE PUZZELS. I VERY MUCH recamend this game. Others are THE FORGOTTEN , THE BEAST WITH IN, MYST ALL FUN ( MYST IS VERY VERY VERY VERY HARD) TRY SANITARUM. THANKS STAY COOL , ROCK ON , DEVIN WATSON

I've read the other reviews and can't disagree with most of what's been said. I actually liked the story (I think I've played every game in existence that features the Templars as a part of the plot) and found the integration of the aspects of the Louvre's development into the game play a nice touch. As others have mentioned, this is one of those games that, like Syberia, went for looks rather than character development or truly challenging puzzles. My big problems with the interface were that a) there are only eight save slots (and you do tend to get creamed without warning now and again) and b) the inventory management feature that only lets you cart around eight things: even Zork 1 allowed you to carry more stuff around. Also, I ran into one section where you could screw up so badly (again, not since the days of Zork 1 has this happened) you effectively had to start that time period all over again. I play these games with my little boy (5), so I have to admit I didn't like that the viewpoint character has to kill now and again (I think this is the reason for the rating, although there's some bawdy dialogue) but the tricky twist at the end did start us on an interesting discussion about the origin and persistence of good and evil.
