Could be great IF...

This game would be great if the multiplayer part were fixed. I can never join a multiplayer game. If only this game were available on zone.com... In single player (since I was limited to this) I created a pretty nifty hero.... and I get to use him WHEN???? The game has a great concept, but it has serious issues.

A Great Concept, but Beware the Bugs....

I desperately wanted to love this game, but having spent 2 weekends trying to get it running on a 1 GHz Pentium III with a SoundBlaster Live! and an nVidia GeForce2 64 MB videocard, I managed to play all of one mission before getting booted to the desktop.

Let me save other users with similar hardware the trouble: save your money and see if a patch hits the Freedom Force website in June, as promised.

From reading the tech support message board on the Freedom Force website, I can assure you that I am not alone in my travails. Any game which launches with over 1000 posts in their tech support forum is simply not worth the time and effort, I'm sorry to say.

Perhaps when the Gold Edition arrives, I'll try again.

Whatever happened to the art of game design?

After being burnt on game after game- Morrowind- Black and White- Civ 3- all highly-touted games that failed to deliver even the slightest degree of gameply enjoyment, I decided to stick my neck out and purchase Freedom force- "what the hey?" I thought- "The law of averages will eventually yield up a decent game, and I've heard good reviews..."

Needless to say- Burned again!

Freedom force is an abysmal little game- a horrendous, cumbersome interface that makes gameplay confusing and erratic. Enemies that can run off the edge of the map and attack you at a distance- yet cannot be attacked. Your "Heroes" might as well be named "Idiot man and Stupid boy", as they will stand idly around at let themselves be attacked and shot at, and not defend themselves. Graphic glitches out the wazoo. You have to click on an enemy sometimes as many as four times before your hero will attack...

Seriously- I've been playing video and computer games for 18 years- ever since the first "Ultima" game came out for the apple 2- and I have never seen such an onslaught of inferior products being foisted into the market...

What has happened to the art of game design? Because from what I can tell, it has died.

This game really upset me. I was looking forward to playing it and the game had some stupid qlitch in it that made it unable to start once I installed it. BUYER BEWARE! I could not find help for the problem and so I sold the game. I also read other reviews that the game is good but no real multiplayer, unless you like only one on one battles and no real replayability, I would wait for something better that you can play again and again and it be a new adventure every time. P.S.- Star Wars Galaxies RPG online- check out the reviews! its not superhero but its better than that... super space heros online.

Good Game

Nice game. You get to create your own superheroes and KO all the thugs. The interface is not very good, but the storyline is great.

A good beginning

Being one of the first comic book computer games it is really very good. Some of the powers leave much to be desired and the user interface is a bit rough. But the game itself is kick A. There is a good bit of user support for it as well opening up many opportunities. Some of the online tutorials are cut rate.

a truly terrible game...

Yes, I started off enjoying this game.

Unfortunately, there is no save game option except on manhole covers, so unless after an hour of play you run around back and forth to save on a manhole cover, you have to start again.

Graphics, smooth and beautiful except for the occasional hiccup which stays on your screen and pushing esc is a temp fix.

But after a while this game just gets mundane, I think to myself what is the point of this game?

If you like jumping over barrels then you will really like this game, if you want a little bit more then buy something else.

Not very good & Target ripped me off

I paid $19.99 at Target and saw it here at Target the next day for $14.99. The game is only fair. I do not like third person shooters, I prefer first person shooters.

The inability to save in the middle of a game also sucks. I got through a hard sequence and got killed. To start over and go thgrough it again takes about 10 to 20 minutes just to get killed again.

After playing it once or twice it is probably shelfware. Not bad if you pay $6.99 and like having your time wasted.

GREAT GAME.
