Good game

This is a great game. Great graphics and a great story line. For me the game has ONLY one flaw which are the first-person shooter sequences. You would think that with the quality of everything else that went into it the programmers would create at least a passable shooter sequence. If you haven't guessed by now, the shooter sequences are not that good and do not 'feel' like the rest of the game. To further provide an analogy, it is like you are playing a great game like "Privateer2: The Darkening" and then out of the blue you are playing 1980s "Space Invaders". With all of the other technological wonders of this game, that is the one part that sticks out like a sore thumb. The hand-to-hand fight sequences are excellent, the storyline is superb and the graphics are high quality. David Bowie's music adds a poetic flavour to this cyber-world of Omikron and I would highly recommend his new album called 'Hours' which has some of the soundtrack to this great game. In summary, if you can put up with the near impossible shooter sequences, this is a terrific game.

GREAT GAME, But........

This game is great but at certin times it gets either way to hard or really repetative. The first person mode isn't very good but the other modes are excellent in my opinion. If you don't own this game then buy it. But, buyer beware it gets really confusing at parts so you might get frustrated at times.

I am one of few how really enjoyed playing this vintage game

A game created in the 1999 for windows 98 only and it has this great looking 3D characters and most of all it has one of the best story lines ever. the idea of the game is crazy. I am looking forward for the Playstation 3 version of this game.

Only 1 star because I can't submit this without it! I have a machine that is well over the minimum specs for this game, but I have had trouble running it sucessfully. What angers me is that the the Eidos tech-support people won't return my e-mails. Shabby, shabby, shabby! If YOU read this I want my money back!

An okay game

I bought this game b/c I read about it in a gaming magazine. I like it, but it is really hard. You know how TR3 just isn't as fun as the original? Well, this game is kind of disappointing like that. You spend a lot of time just walking around the cities and trying to figure out what to do. I had to buy a guide to get me through it b/c I was stuck. Turns out I missed a lot of stuff in the beginning and had to start all over. I don't really recommend this game. It isn't that great.

Greatest Adventure/Action game I have ever played!

This was a truly fabulous game. The graphics are great and the sound/voices were the best I've heard yet. Gameplay was hard so I did buy the Prima Guide for it. Overall the game sucked me right into the action and I never left!

Despite what you may have read, by pushing manual in the caller, you can drive where ever you what! It's not all that great but i cant stand a review that is not correct!

Sweet graphics and music, but...

the fighting interface isn't too bad, though it took a bit to get the controls to functions. The first person shooter is clunky, and very difficult to control. The people, while good detail to face and body, and general body movement, the minimalistic facial expressions is just creepy. While the plot is highly imaginative and original, the pace feels rather plodding. The eye and ear candy of the 3-D graphics, combined with Bowie and Reeves background music are amazing, and save the game. If you're looking for something different, or like the slow dreamscapes of mystery games, like Myst and Riven, give an Omikron a try. If you're looking for something faster-paced, look elsewhere.

An ethereal, surreal adventure!

Although I haven't gotten very far in this game as of yet, This game has to have the most interesting premise I've ever experienced with any game. The characters could have used a little work but otherwise this game is quite challenging and fun. I love how they put David Bowie in this game. Excitingly original. I'm glad someone finally made a game where you can just. . . . . live. I am having problems though. I seem to be stuck at a certain part of the game. I am trying to get into the ventilation duct into Commandant Ghandar's office. Someone please e-mail me and tell me how to pass it.

The game is beautiful, but I do think Quantic Dream could have taken some time to fix a number of things. For one, the game has a huge grudge against my primary display driver (which works fine on the other 3-D games I play) so I have to use the software rendering, which isn't too slow as long as it's on 640x480 resolution and the detail is very low and the clipping is very near...

Also, the shooting mode is insanely stupid as other people have said. And the game refuses to respond to my keyboard about a third of the time when I try to fight in the arena. (My roommate didn't have that problem, however, so it might just be my keyboard.) And it would be nice to skip the cut scenes...seeing the video for the 50th time at the arena is really boring.

Now that I've bitched about the programming, I have to point out that it's a truly addictive game, and very fun for this not-very-hardcore gamer.

One more gripe: The Dreamers don't perform often enough. :)
