A great 1st Person Shooter in the vein of Perfect Dark!

Bottom line if you liked Goldeneye and Perfect Dark this game could actually be considered a sequel!
Graphically its a 10 out of 10, fun factor 10 out of 10, multi player gets 10 out of 10 as well.
I personally think the single player game is pretty easy, and can easily be beaten by renting it for a weekend.
THis game is basically "PErfect Dark" for the PS2.
fans of perfect dark and goldeneye need to check this out!

WOW

Who new this game would be so fun? After playing this at a friends house for hours, I was very impressed. The gameplay is quick, the options are nice, and the controls are easy if you spend a little time getting used to them. I especially enjoyed the multiplayer gaming (most of all capture the bag). The levels are all nicely done. Well, if you end up buying this game, enjoy! If not, you may as well just sit at home and punch yourself in the face.

The best fps on ps2 for sure!!

This game is fun, funny, cartoony and is full of guns. There is no blood though however(so sorry for the people who love gory games) but in its own ways it has some violence. Such as burning people alive, blowing them up, decapitation and jut shooting in general. The graphics are great(though the screenshots look terribe) and the audio is great with a unique sound for every gun and before i forget to mentin this, there is an AMAZING selection of characters and best of all, you have to unlock them so as you can see, there is more into this game than just the story mode with 9 or 10 levels but many arcade missions to play for weeks, months or even years to come. Unfortunately, edios didn't make it playable with broadband but maybe they may on the maybe TS3.One last thing BUY THIS GAME HOWEVER OLD IT IS!!!

Actually, maybe 6 stars....

The Best First-Person Game Since the Original "GoldenEye"

Breathtaking graphics, hundreds of choices as far as characters and weapons are concerned, varying from a monkey to a colonel and a rocket launcher to a luger pistol, and available four person play make this a must for any video game fan. Timesplitters 2 provides hours upon hours of pure, shoot-'em-up action that never gets tiring. My favorite part about this game was that you could, and still can, always get better and it's not very easy the first time you play. Don't get descouraged; all good things come in time. So enjoy... and be amazed! =]

I don't think I have to say much, the fact that it has 4.5 stars overall should mean somthing to you. Anyway, me and my friend played this game [on gamecube] for hours on end and I STILL love it. Multiplayer is the best I have EVER played. Pick it up today, I promise you won't be disapointed....

"Timesplitters 2" is a game about time-jumping aliens who mess up human history; so, as a wide cast of characters, you go back through different periods of history to retrieve those pesky time crysals, as well as just generally blowing things up.

Sounds like any other FPS to begin with, but "Timesplittes 2" offers unique weapon, enemy, and level design, great music, somewhat cartoony graphics, and a little bit of humor. On top of that, the multi-player is second to none, what with an easy-to-use level editor.

Nothing exactly thought-provoking, but just a great deal of fun.

This, my friends, is one of the best FPS shooters since GoldenEye, and Perfect Dark. Of course everyone has said this about this game, but it is true. This game proves you don't need body organs raining in the sky with nifty lighting effects on every explosion like a Hollywood movie. This game concentrates on one key element many games seem to lack: the ability to be FUN.

It's a great game. Maybe it doesn't have the greatest graphics, but the overall feel to the environment is well done. The explosions could be better looking, but are still nice to look at. Where this game sings graphically, is the detail and attention to the world and battles. You will see bullets flying everywhere, even when you're far away. This makes every battle seem epic. Even the small things make a big impact. The way a fire extinguisher flies around in circles when you shoot it, the way the glass breaks, the way the walls seem to get shot up with bullet holes. It really adds to this game.

The sound is some of the best I have heard in a game. The music is reminscent of the game, Goldeneye. The catchy tunes that will get stuck in your head, nice sound of machine guns, rich explosions. The sound is great. It also includes music from the original Time Splitters, which adds nostilgia for the fans of the original.

Gameplay is solid. Battles are fast, furious, and a joy to experience. The game will not lag out or die during 16 player battles. It's smooth and stable. Single player storyline, is not the best. In fact, it's bad. But, the storyline doesn't really matter in this type of genre. Although, games like Perfect Dark, and Deus Ex, prove FPS games can have some of the best storylines in video game history. Still, the missions in the single player mode are great with variety, setting, characters, and style. One minute you're in 1990 in a Siberian Dam shooting out cameras (sound familar?), the next minute you're taking on the Mafia in 1930's Chicago. Then, before you know it, you're in the year 2300, fighting off aliens with special space lasers and such. Everything from missions that are all action, missions that require stealth, and missions that require you to use your head, are covered in this game. The difficulty levels differ, as do the mission objectives. Choosing a higher difficulty will not simply mean more enemies, less health. It will add new objectives, new places to reach, and an overall new experience from the prior level. And since most of the game is locked, there is actually a reason for completing the game on hard. The average gamer will be able to unlock most of the stuff in Time Splitters 2, making it enjoyable to even newcommers. However, for us hard core gamers, who need to get the best of the best and then some, Time Splitters 2 has the special "Platinum" award and serves up more then enough of hard challenges. It is truly a game for everyone. Tons of re-play value, more then enough challenges, and different twists to the FPS genre make this game top-notch.

The multiplayer is godly in this game, to a state of near perfection. Up to 16 players, make Death matchs, Team battles, and CTF matchs, so much fun. Plus, the game offers new stuff to the FPS genre, you wouldn't expect. If you're sick of Capture The Flag or death match, why not play the Monkey assistant mode? Or how about Gladiator? Or the Virus mode? When was the last time in an FPS game where you ran for dear life, as flaming green monkeys chased you down in a western setting? Or, have you ever ran around on a snow planet, setting snowmen on fire with a flame thrower? The game has tons of humor, and loves to put you in situations you wouldn't expect to be in. The result is pure fun, in the best form possible.

Top notch single player action, the best multiplayer experience, unlockable stuff actually WORTH getting, tons of re-play value....what more could you want? Well, the people who made TS2 decided to throw on something that makes this game above and beyond any FPS out there. The map editor. In a console FPS, a map editor makes this game the best. If you don't like the maps they already made (even though they are great), you can make your own maps for your own frag fests. You can even make your own missions with your own AI bots! Gun turrets, Keys, gates, guards, all these things you can make. It lets your imagination run wild, and adds even more play time.

This game goes above and beyond anything one would expect from your average FPS. This is one of the greatest games of 2002. When this came out many people compared it to its rival, Red Faction 2, which I think is nothing compared to this masterpiece. Proving a FPS doesnt need gory action, "glorious" lighting effects, or hollywood type of action, this game reminds us of why we play games in the first place. To have fun.

Finally, A Game Worth the Money

I can sum this game up in one word...SWEEEEET!!!
I didn't know what to expect since the original
Timesplitters was a little disappointing in the
story mode. Well, this time they got it right.
I absolutely love it. The levels aren't too long
and you get a checkpoint in which you can restart
from if you get wasted. It's the next best thing
to the save anywhere feature.

Normally, I don't get excited about the multiplayer
mode, but this game changed my ways. You can have
as many as 11 other bots to fight against and there
is no slow down time. There's a bunch of different
options to choose from and they're all downright fun.

Any game that allows to configure your controller
the way you want gets an automatic star to begin with.
This is one of the few games I would give 5 stars to,
if not 6 (5 being the best). Definitely buy this game.
Stay away from "No One Lives Forever" and "007 Nightfire"
unless you're rich and just want to throw away your

money.
