City Livin's for Your Sims! - Good game.

While I don't think this game ever got as good as the Sims2 for Playstation 2, I still enjoyed it. The replay value is relatively strong. I went back and played it several times, and enjoyed myself every time. This game does justice to the Sims franchise, and I applaud Maxis and EA Games for getting it on the shelves.

PROS: There is a LOT of stuff to do in this game. Even moreso than the Sims 2. Therefore, there are many more challenges. And the game is significantly more complicated than the Sims 2, in my opinion. This isn't always a good thing for games, but I belive it is good for this game... entertainment in the Sims is pure necessity. And I must say, that I was entertained. Your Sim gets to build their reputation (Rep), which isn't always an easy thing. You have to please quite a few people before your reputation is strong enough to gain respect. There are also some locations in the city that are interesting. For example: chop shop, tattoo parlor, VIP Club, and piercing parlor. Not to mention that the jobs your Sim does are fun... well, most of the time.

CONS: The game does get repetitive. While there are jobs to be done, and people to win over, you will find yourself doing the same things again and again. This game never necessarily gets 'boring', but it does come very close to that. The over-complication of having to dress yourself a certain way in different locations can also get stressful. You have to earn enough money to buy the clothes that you need to be accepted. So I will be up-front and honest with you. Even the most seasoned gamers will not be finishing this game in one sitting. That is all there is to it. The game is long. And complicated.

Your 'crib' is an apartment that you will never really have to visit, because the different locations all have refrigerators and beds. Why do you need an apartment? That's just it: you don't! It's still somewhat fun to decorate it. The most annoying thing, is that you have to pay rent.

Sims: Urbz was a good game! Some changes and editing could have been done to make it even better, but there isn't much to complain about when you are kept so busy.

I bought this game for my 17 year old daughter. She seems to like it. It arrived very quickly, and was exactly what I wanted!

The first two titles in the series by EA Games are The Sims and The Sims Bustin' Out, but make way for number three, The Urbz: Sims in the city.

In The Urbz, you guide your Sim through life in nine very diverse culturally different districts, where you have to walk the walk and talk the talk. As in its two predecesors, in The Urbz, you have goals to achieve, bills to pay and promotions to obtain. The differences you'll find in this game are in the jobs you work and clothes you buy, which are district specific, and the other Sims you meet and interact with.

Another difference is that you have to build up your reputation. This is achieved by meeting and befriending as many different Sims as you can and learning their specific social interactions. At the start of the game, you must choose what district to start out in. By completing your goals and building your rep, you unlock other districts to visit and work in.

The main goal is to build yourself up to have the highest rep in the city, so that everyone wants to be your friend. This game is fun and simplistic without being too easy. Plus, after you beat it the first time, you can always go back and play as someone different, giving this game replay potential.

On a scale on 1-10, I give this game an 8.5. Sim-fans should not miss out on The Urbz!

I don't like that you have to pay taxes; it was excellent when I first started, but when I got my taxes I was shocked. They were through the roof. It makes some villain come and take away all my stuff. I don't play much anymore. I like that the jobs are mini-games, but I don't like that they speed up every time I get something right. I think the Sims2 is better than this.

I started with The Sims Bustin Out. Then I bought The Sims 2 for my PC. I liked the game better on PS2-- but I did enjoy being able to add my own music on my PC.

Anyway--- I am just as addicted to this game as previous ones. I really like being able to go to lots of new places-- the navigation is easier-- as well as figuring out what you're supposed to be doing. I felt like I was forever looking online in the Sims Bustin Out to figure out what I was supposed to be doing.

I had a hard time adjusting to the new controls... but after I got that down and figured out how to buy and sell--- change clothes--- It was just like before :-)

I also like how they tell you you cant add new stuff because of a fire hazzard-- but when you sell something, you can put something new in there. In Bustin out... and the Sims 2 on my PC after awhile I just couldnt buy anything-- even if I was selling. Then after a few days it would let me change stuff up. Although.. everything in this game furniture wise is kinda blah. The sims dont seem to care too much about pretty things and cleansiness... My dog peed all over the floor and my sim was still in a good mood. Nice change from before--- too bad the dog cant be trained though... bc its kinda gross seeing a bunch of puddles and lies everywhere.

No smoke detectors needed for purchase either. the fire people come right away--- but guests tend to burn things when they practice blowing fire?

The cheat codes are easier to use...

I am a big fan of the Sims; however I do not like this game it's fun but to easy. it's to much cartoon and weired for me. The sims bustin out was more realistic to me.The music in the game is kinda good. There is no building houses, and there is really not a whole lot of good furniture to choose from. The apartments are ghetto looking. This might be a good game for kids & teen agers, but not for the adults, I will stick with the original sims.

Is really fun, graphics are awesome!

The game is really amazing, graphics, music, etc. the one problem is that it takes a while(perhaps 10 or 15 sec.) to load when going to place to place, but I like that, gives you a chance to rest your eyes. You can rent the game from places like blockbuster to figure out if you like it, thats what I did. But once you rent it about 9 times you might as well buy it.

I like that there are differant jobs you can have and you dont just have one, like on the origanal sims for pc. It's really cool to change the urbz style! I think this a great game and sutible for kids/teens. I'm 13.

I am an avid Sim's fan from the PC games to the PS2 games. Although this was a great game & I loved it, it personally was not enough of a challenge for me. I rented it for a week just to try it out before I bought it, well I didn't have to buy it because I beat the game in 4 days. Sim's Bustin' Out took me months to beat the whole game & does not get boring & I still play that. But Urbz, I will not play again. Like I said it was fun to play & I loved it, but it is not a game I would buy.
